61 I can't seem to go

She runs towards me and pulls me in for a tight hug.

"Ow, ow, ow." I tap her back repeatedly and she pulls away in a rush.

"I'm sorry." She says quickly. "I'm just-" She sniffs.

"It's fine." I give her a small smile.

Oddly, I found comfort in the pain.

"It's just that I'm so glad you're awake." She says. "I never thought I'd hear you talk and smile again." She starts to tear up and I could feel myself tearing up also.

"For some reason, I can't seem to go." I say and she hits my shoulder that isn't hurt.

"Don't say that." She sniffs and wipes her eye. "I really thought I had lost you."

"Well, here I am. I never left." I say and she bends her head down and starts sobbing.

"Oh Chloe."

"I'll be outside." Nick speaks up and walks leaving me and my emotional bestie alone.

She sits on the chair beside me and takes my hand. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"

I nod. "It's hurting everywhere."
