95. Fluffy

Even after securing all the Unicorns, Harry still followed Voldemort and Dumbledore every night as he didn't want Dumbledore to relocate another herd just for Voldemort's comfort.

He also used Vörn and gave its ink the property of elixir of life. Now he won't need to milk out Philosopher's stone's remaining energy as Vörn would be able to provide it easily. He did the same with the phoenix tears that he urgently ordered Bogrod to purchase for him at all cost. Meaning he now had unlimited amount of phoenix tears and elixir of life. He planned to collect many such Elixir's, Potions and venoms during the summer break.

Everyone could see that Quirrell was more jittery and jumpy with each passing day and Harry knew the time for the final act was near. He completely ignored Hagrid's cries for his dragon daughter. Snape too was being unbearable after the holidays, an affect of Harry being hailed as future youngest Potion master after his height increasing Potion.

His friends, specially the four girls, were becoming stronger everyday thanks to the ritual, Potion, training and massage. Harry also started teaching Hermione, Daphne, Penelope and Jessica mundane knowledge on history, psychology, science and technology.

One day suddenly, Hagrid invited him and talked about Fluffy the Cerberus, The philosopher's stone, some thief trying to steal it and all in his 'drunken' state. Harry was barely keeping himself from rolling his eyes at Hagrid's acting. As if that was not enough, the night after dinner, he heard Snape speaking about Dumbledore not being in the castle and something about good opportunity.

Harry decided to enjoy the show while being hidden, and also see some of Voldemort's abilities. He made himself untraceable using his standard method( Noice cancelling charm+ Scent masking charm+ invisibility cloath) and waited near the door leading to Fluffy's room.

Harry didn't have to wait for long before Quirrell came in disillusioned state. Harry could see that it was actually Voldemort who was controlling the body and he was very angry and desperate.

'It seems not being able to drink more Unicorn blood has made him much more desperate and irrational. Now it also explains why Dumbledore did everything so hurriedly with crude plans as he had not anticipated this. If he had waited a few more days than I'm sure Voldemort would have attacked students and teachers in anger. Well, he doesn't look any better now.' Harry thought as he became even more careful because Voldemort was behaving like crazy.

Quirrellmort blasted open the security wards and door without caring about hiding his actions as he came face to face with Fluffy. Harry followed quitely and was anticipating for him to play some music but was horrified when Voldemort directly fired some nasty dark curses that took away both eyes of one of Fluffy's head as well as the leg that was on top of the trap door.

Voldemort didn't care about Fluffy who started whinning and yelping in pain as it laid on the ground not being able to stand up. He opened the trap door and entered inside it but Harry couldn't leave Fluffy there dieing.

'First the Unicorn and now a Cerberus. Dumbledore, how many more do you plan to sacrifice for your twisted sense of greater good.' Harry thought and Dumbledore didn't know but each such action of his would be paid back many fold as this Harry was very vengeful.

Harry spotted another person coming towards them with his mage sight and enhanced hearing and from the smell of Potions, he knew it was the resident dungeon bat of Hogwarts.

He knew he couldn't stay and immediately opened a portal sending Fluffy to the training ground as he erased the traces of magic and hid expertly. Snape came and saw the blood and some remains of Fluffy's body. He casted a human revealing charm and after not finding anything, simply frowned and entered the trapdoor, maybe deciding to investigate later.

Harry didn't follow him as he immediately went to his room and then portaled to the training ground. Fluffy was barely conscious and on the verge of dieing. Seeing Harry coming towards him, he bared his teeth but couldn't even make a growl.

Harry went beside him and tried to sooth him using all the knowledge he had gathered on Cerberuses. He couldn't play the music as he feared Fluffy wouldn't wake up ever after sleeping. After a few minutes Fluffy calmed down both because it judged Harry to be friendly and because he was completely exhausted.

Seeing him calming down, Harry immediately took out Vörn and started using Elixir of life, Phoenix tears and some healing Potions. Slowly but surely the wounds started healing. He noted that elixir of life had some effect of dispersing dark magic and together with phoenix tears and his own overpowered healing magic which he had practiced after the phoenix incident, Fluffy was healed. One of its head was still blind as it would take a long time before it would be healed and that too because Harry acted hurriedly and didn't let dark magic latch on the wound. But there was nothing Harry could do with his leg that was cut off.

'I'll see what can be done about it when I have more time. I remember Voldemort giving a metal hand to Pettigrew after his revival ritual.' Harry thought.

Fluffy also gained consciousness and panicked when he couldn't stand up or see from one of its head. It took considerable efforts from Harry to calm him down. It was a good thing that Magical creatures had intelligence. Fluffy understood that it was Harry who saved his life and also that his eyes would be cured after sometime. Harry also promised to do something about its leg in the future making Fluffy so happy that it started licking Harry using all it's three tongues.

For Harry, it was less amusing and more horrifying as he was completely covered in his drool. Harry cleaned himself using magic and also moved Fluffy to his family grounds. He assigned four more elves to take care of everything.

He had kept his eyes on the Hogwarts map and had seen that after Voldemort stayed in the room where mirror of Erished was placed, he was going to come out, obviously not finding anything.

It was at that moment that Dumbledore came in and then Quirrell's name vanished from the map.

Harry knew that since Snape was keeping eyes on the events then Dumbledore had planned to kill Quirrell and leave Voldemort bodiless. But he kept eyes just to be sure.

Harry spent some time playing with Fluffy and then some more with the jealous little Unicorn before portaling back to his dorm room.
