10. Fleecing the Goblins

"Ah, now that's not how we do it Rognuk. You harmed my family's interest, you hurt my sentiments, and just some time ago you caused me emotional and psychological harm by threatening me. You think just some compensation can rectify your mistakes. It seems you are still not sincere." I said with an expression as if his actions have hurt me deeply.

"Please tell me how I can appease you Lord Potter." His face twitched in annoyance but he still asked politely.

"Since your asking so sincerely, I will tell you the minimum compensation that would help me to heal my wounded heart."

I took out a parchment and gave it to him. He took it from me feeling relieved that all my demands only amount to a single parchment. He took a look curiously and nearly had a magical version of heart attack. The parchment has a total of 10 conditions. They were-

1. I will be the most VIP customer of their branch, my business will be given top priority.

2. I will only have to pay the cost plus 10% of the regular profit charged on all my businesses.

3. All my businesses and information will only be privy to those who take a vow of absolute secrecy.

4. They will provide me all the books and knowledge on each and everything they know. Ministry laws, goblin laws, secret information on clients they have collected, rare and obscured knowledge on all branches of magic, and everything. Condition being taking a vow ,that I will not impart this knowledge to anyone using any means neither will I store this knowledge anywhere other than Gringotts provided vault in any form.

5. They will help me make contact with important people of my requirements.

6.They will help me in doing things I want even if it is declared illegal by the Ministry, provided it is not against the goblin law.

7. They will be the eternal ally of future Lords, who are recognised by a lord ring, I will specially craft in the future.

8. They will help any member of my house if they are suffering unjust treatment.

9. If it happens that for any reason , the knowledge of these conditions are not known to the members of my house, they will be informed of these arrangements immediately, with a condition that they take a vow to not reveal it to anyone ever.

10. they will not amend any law such that it compromises with any of the above mentioned conditions.

"Lord Potter... This... These are some heavy demands you are making." Rognuk said with some nervousness.

"Rognuk, You should know very well that can make some truly outrageous demands and you would have been pressed to accept them to save your life and your career. It is just that I understand that things achieved at the expense of others hatred are often dangerous. And I also know that it is always good to have one less enemy.

Moreover Ain't I giving you the chance to repent and apologize sincerely, you are not going to hurt my sentiments for the second time today, right? "

His face grimaced but then he sighed, " Alright Lord Potter, I agree with your conditions. let's sign the contract."

After writing the contract and making sure there are no problems in it,we both signed it.

"Sigh.. Who asked me to be so kind. Even though your actions do not deserve forgiveness, I'm magnanimous enough to forgive you."

"Thank you Lord Potter." He replied with gritted teeth. There is bound to be some resentment between us, but I'm sure he won't go against it again.

He excused himself citing his need to fulfill the conditions immediately, leaving only me and Bogrod in the office.

"Alright Bogrod, I have some requests to make-

1. Find me the information on Andromeda and Edward Tonks.

2. Find candidates who are capable healers, law wizards, bodyguards, Butler, maid and Personal secretary and assistant for both magical and muggle worlds.. Provide me a list of names and their information.

3. Arrange to invest in the muggle world.

4. information on rare magical beast eggs You can get for me.

5. I want a magical trunk, give me a list of people who are masters in this field of magic.

6. I want to get rid of the trace from my wand.

7. The books I demanded from Rognuk, I want the vault number where it will be placed. I will be visiting there regularly.-"

"Wait a moment Lord Potter. Did you just say that you can directly go inside any of our vaults?" He suddenly exclaimed. and it took considerable effort on my part to hide the smirk that threatened to appear on my face.

Hook, line and sinker. Did they seriously think I will place my complete trust in them just because of a magical contract. After receiving my conditions they might have thought that I would not extort them anymore. oh, how naive they are.

" So when I disappeared and then reappeared in front of you, did you think I was just playing hide and seek with you? " I gave him a look as if he is the biggest fool I have seen.

"Lord Potter... please.. please wait.. I need to call manager Rognuk here.. Please just wait for a minute." He said running outside of the office.

If I was not worried that there might be some instrument to record my actions, I'd have laughed like a villain. Just as Bogrod said, Rognuk came running under one minute. How punctual!.
