141 HPMRS CH 141: Departure!

When everything was bought, Hermione took out her wallet and said, "You know that I have my birthday in September. This time I have to leave early for Brazil, so my parents gave me some money and asked me to buy whatever I like for my birthday by myself. For the birthday gift, they gave me a total of fifteen Galleons."

"This budget is very generous." Ryan said: "You wouldn't give yourself a Book as a birthday gift, would you?"

"No, of course not." Hermione denied: "I decided to buy a pet. After two school years, my school life is on the right track. It's time to buy a pet to accompany me." As a result, three people crossed the street to the Magic Zoo pet store. The shop's area is limited, and every inch of the wall is covered in cages, making it unpleasant and noisy. The sounds of many animals are combined, and they are loud enough to give people a headache.

Because a witch bought a rare bird, the shopkeeper was telling the witch how to raise it. In this case, the gang can only look boredly at the cages in the store.

There are many kinds of pets here, the most are naturally owls and cats, but there are also some uncommon animals, such as large turtles with jewels on their backshells, and fire crabs with flames constantly spraying from the back of their buttocks. There is a variety of bright bluebirds.

Finally, the shopkeeper sent away the witch who bought the rare bird and then found Ryan and the others who were waiting there. "What do you need?" the shop owner asked.

After some selection, Hermione bought an owl with dark brown feathers that was huge in size. The most special thing was the long ear feathers on both sides of the head of this owl.

"This is an eagle owl." When she walked out of the pet shop, Hermione held the cage to Ryan and the others. "I thought about it for a long time between a big orange cat and it, but I thought I would go to a far place to study this year. So, In order to facilitate easy communication, I finally chose this big owl, which the shop owner claimed could fly across continents."

"Eagle-owl, eagle owl, eagle owl, eagle ow This bird is familiar to me. People hunt it because they believe its bones can be soaked in wine to cure fractures." Ryan remarked.

"That's really bad." Hermione shook her head.

"Of course, most democratic countries of the Muggle world have legislation to make capturing them an illegal act," Ryan added.

Everyone returned to the Leaky Cauldron Pub, where they met Neville Longbottom and his grandmother. Mrs. Longbottom greeted them and thanked them for assisting her grandson in last semester, which improved Neville's final test grades from the previous semester.

After some greetings, Mrs. Longbottom took Neville to buy things in Diagon Alley, and, Ryan and Hermione took the subway home after saying goodbye to Harry.

Hermione inquired as she exited the subway station and walked down the street: "What is the magic you used in the bookstore? Why have I never seen it before?"

"That's a Centaur's magic, which Wolfe taught me. I discovered that these books have some of the characteristics of creatures, and I wondered if I could use this magic. Anyway, this magic will not harm or damage anyone, so there was nothing to be concerned about. In the end, as you can see, I was successful." The Centaur was subjected to Ryan's magic. Anyway, aside from himself, Ryan couldn't locate a wizard who could earn the Centaur's complete trust, and if Hermione asks Centaurs for the stated magic and is denied, she'll assume Centaurs don't trust her.

Hermione accepted Ryan's explanation and said enviously: "Centaur, is a race that can coexist with wizards to this day. I believe they must have their specialties."

"In fact, this is an application of Ancient Runes. With the birth of modern magic, these spells have slowly become rare among human wizards. However, they are still intact in some ancient races."

"It turns out that this is the case. It seems that I need to have more channels to acquire knowledge, and I can't just read new books." Hermione nodded suddenly, enlightened.

In the next few days, Ryan packed his luggage at home and wrote to several students from the pure-blood family he knew, about the Castelobruxo School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Soon these good friends wrote back letters. Among them, Neville's letter was the most detailed. The letter carefully introduced the history of the school and the current special subjects. However, this detailed and organized content does not seem to be summed up by Neville himself, but rather looked like the old lady Longbottom's handwriting.

...

On August 27th, after having a hearty breakfast early in the morning. Ryan's family set off in their new family SUV. As soon as they turned at the first intersection of the house, they saw Granger's blue Volkswagen SUV parked at the intersection.

Yesterday, the two of them agreed to leave together today.

At half-past nine, Ryan and the others rushed to King's Cross Station. So they sat there for a while in the cafe at the train station. Until the hour hand reached a quarter past ten. After listening to their parents' instructions, they reluctantly hugged and bid farewell. Ryan and Hermione pushed the luggage trolley one after the other into the platform pillar.

Probably because it was a bit early, apart from an elderly guard on the nine and three-quarters platform, only two or three scattered students were walking on the platform or sitting on the benches.

Ryan found that they were both senior Slytherin students, so he and Hermione sat down on a bench far away from them, took out the Ancient Runes textbook, and began to read it.

After reading it for a while, Ryan discovered that the Ancient Runes had the writing method and pronunciation of the magic texts, but the most important part of the spirit note was missing.

No wonder people take this course less and less, without the spirit of Runes, it can only be said to be a special language only, with no magic effect.

This kind of magic literature without the means of injecting spirits has no practical effect after it is finished, it doesn't give instant gratification as other magical studies do. Naturally, this subject has gradually changed from one of the basics of magic to an unpopular course.

Ryan felt that the current situation was probably a way for the pure-blood families to maintain the status of the family. Think about it, there is a high probability that those families have all kinds of magic texts handed down from ancient times. And the little wizards who can only learn knowledge from school can only use a simple introduction to explore the method of injecting spirits. Except for some geniuses, the methods of most people are far inferior to the methods summed up by the predecessors in the pure-blood family. This naturally achieves the purpose of pure blood monopolizing knowledge and showcasing the advantages of being a pure blood wizard.

This is the same reason, why little to no combat spells are taught in Hogwarts. Those pure-blood families maintain their status in the wizarding world through the control of knowledge.

Thinking about this, half an hour passed. The students also rushed to the platform one after another. Finally, there was a whining sound in the distance, and the red steam engine head of the Hogwarts Express appeared on the corner track.
