3 Chapter 3 - Nagini's Daughter?

Slowly the eyes of the girl fluttered open, the brightness of the room blinding her as it entered her eyes. She had to blink it a few times in order to adjust to the room she was in.

As her eyes adjusted she finally looked around the room to see where she was— a room.

It was a white room that looked almost like a hospital room from the equipment that was inside of it.

She was on a bed. A cheaply made bed at that with some simple covers on it— yet that alone was more than she had for many years in the past.

But what made her think that the room was a hospital room was the feeding tube and monitoring devices that were hooked up to her body.

Which she could only assume was due to her being unconscious for 9 years of her life like the voice had told her.

What made her unsure about this situation however was the magical aspects of the room, such as the charms that were engraved into the walls and some of the machines to keep them from breaking.

As she tried to move from the bed she could feel how extremely weak her body was. How weak she had grown from not eating, moving, or doing anything for 9 years straight.

"What is this?"

She spoke aloud for the first time in a while, yet her voice came out rough and dry— forced even. Yet she couldn't help but notice the youthfulness of her voice.

'Information?'

She thought in her mind, trying to get the information panel which she was promised, to open up.

[Name: Vixenne Moonbringer.

Race: Wizard/Maledictus.

-----------

Mana: 10

Attack: 2

Durability: 2

Agility: 2

Intelligence: 8

-----------

Skills:

Dark One - The user has been granted the powers of a Dark One thanks to being Kin with the Darkness. This ability grants the user domain over all forms of darkness, be it shadows, darkness itself, dark thoughts, dark emotions, dark creatures, and so on. The user's current understanding and usage of this skill is rudimentary.

Maledictus - The user was born a half Maledictus, yet the blood of a Maledictus flows in their veins. Unlike normal Maledictus however, the user is unable to transform into a full animal form and instead gains the animalistic abilities of the animal they are. The user is a Serpent and gains the skills of a serpent.

Further Skills are locked till the body of the user has recovered.]

As the girl took her time to skim through the words on the floating panel before her since she didn't have anywhere else to go.

And as she finished reading it, a thought appeared in her mind— but it didn't make sense.

'I'm a Maledictus? Isn't that like, a bad thing?'

Her information about the details of what the different races can or can't do was very limited since it was never truly explored in the films, but she did know the only Maledictus that was mentioned— and the only serpent one at that— was Nagini.

''But that's not possible, is it?"

She whispered to herself.

Another odd thing about the information panel was the stats she had. To be exact she wasn't sure what the numbers meant.

For example, her magic stat was the highest— which she could only assume was because she was a witch. But how did that stat work exactly?

In the world of Harry Potter, magic was never put into a numerical form. It wasn't even explained properly— so knowing the number of the stat didn't really help her understand how powerful it was.

Plus— she had no way of knowing what the normal number for someone her age was.

She could only assume that her physical stats were below average because of how weak her body currently is— but she didn't know just how weak that was compared to a normal child.

But since the panel didn't share that information, she had to figure it out another way.

That would mean leaving this place— which she started to do right away.

Pushing herself off the bed with what little strength her body could muster.

This time she was finally able to get up— struggling to do so. She had to hold herself up against the edge of the bed, and then the walls as she moved around.

She struggled her way over to the glass window that was on one side of the room— trying to watch her reflection in it to see how she looked.

She was actually quite surprised at how she looked, mainly due to her eyes.

She had long black hair that was unkept and extremely long because of how long it wasn't cut for. But it wasn't just any normal black hair— it was pitch black like the absence of any light reaching it.

Her eyes were bright gold— with a hue that slightly glowed and shimmered. It was quite mesmerizing for even her to look into.

Her skin was a pale white, but she could see hints of the Nagini from the films as she looked at her reflections closer— her lips and nose to be exact.

"This is, odd to say the least."

She muttered to herself as she tried to make it over to the door. She needed to know where she was before she did anything else.

It was clearly some sort of hospital, but the charms made her understand that it wasn't any normal hospital. Which means this was a magical place.

Ran by wizards or witches.

And if she truly was the child of Nagini— which she didn't want to believe— she didn't believe they would very much like her.

As she reached the door and attempted to open it, she found it to be unlocked.

Which was honestly surprising to her— since she assumed this place to be a monitoring room. She assumed whoever was trying to monitor her would at least not want people entering at will.

Either way, she pushed open the door and exited the room.

On the other side of the room was a hallway of what seemed like a hospital— except there weren't any other doors in the hallway beside her own.

As she stepped out of the room— she heard a beeping sound go off within the building.

Like an alarm that alerted whoever was monitoring her here to someone using the door.

'Shit.'

She thought to herself as she tried to quickly make her way down the hallway— attempting to get out of here as quickly as she could.

Yet her body didn't allow her to do so with how weak it was— she stumbled as she tried to grab the wall, falling as she failed to do so.

When her body hit the ground she heard a voice from the other end of the hallway.

A young voice that seemed to belong to one of the doctors working here from how concerned it sounded.

"Quickly she woke up! We need to get her back on the bed and hooked up to the machines, her body is too weak to be moving already."

Said the doctor to whoever he was talking to— followed by a fleet of footsteps that approached her quickly.

As they got within sight she could barely make out their faces from her blurred vision and the facemasks that covered their faces.

But she could tell from their outfits that they were doctors, so she wasn't too worried.

"Ugh- Wh-"

She tried to speak but her words were cut short by the doctor speaking something, telling her not to speak.

"Don't try to speak, you're body is extremely weak. The fact you made it this far is amazing in itself."

Well, that was something she could be proud of at least— smiling at the thought her mind drifted off the sleep once more to allow them to aid her body.

She didn't know how long it was until she woke up again— but she did wake up nonetheless.

In the same bed, she woke up in before.

This time however she wasn't alone. Around her stood 3 people, 2 men, and one female.

One of the men was much older than the others, with short grey hair and a neatly cut beard on his face.

The other man was much younger, probably in his early 30s at least. With short brown hair and a clean face.

The female seemed to be similar in age to the man, with long blonde hair, and a face that could be quite popular with the men her age.

Before she could say anything however the old man amongst the group spoke first.

"Hello, Vixenne Moonbringer— that is your name by the way. Granted by your mother, Nagini."

As the girl heard that her eyebrow shot open wide, but she quickly tried to hide it so that it wouldn't seem weird.

After all— this was the first time she had ever woken up since being born. Meaning she wouldn't have any information about things like this.

"I know you must be confused, I don't even know if you can understand me. But we have a lot to discuss."
