Chapter 50

Aegon at the young age of 4 was surrounded by former Maesters,who were teaching the young boy thing's that was beyond him at that age.

This pressure would only increase with time and Aegon would be pushed to the limit,but even with all these teachers Aegon was average in terms of intelligence and his decision making skills were not that great.

Eragon was visited by Irmo  the Lord and Master of Dreams, Visions, and Desires, and Creator of the Oloré Mallé, or Path of Dreams, and husband of Estë himself to talk about Helena the second child of Viserys and Alicent.

Irmo was extremely handsome god, being as tall and muscular and bronzed with long golden hair tied back in a "man bun".As he spoke up"The girl is really a speaker of prophesy,you should train if possible."

Eragon was suprised hearing this,while he was slightly worried about the girl being exploited by her grandfather.

Irmo shook his head and replied"The path I saw for this girl was is forked either she becomes a puppet for her mother or she becomes person of her own choice."

Irmo then turned to Eragon and continued"The war is eminent and you should save many as possible."

Eragon sighed to Irmo"I will try."

Irmo nodded,as Eragon questioned"Is both Aegon and the future child really impossible to save."

Irmo slightly saddened replied"Both of them are kept on strict leash by their mother,from I have seen the oldest brother will be rebellious and will never vy for the Throne,but the youngest is more dangerous and wildest of the children."

Eragon nodded and made sure to watch both of them.

But Irmo didn't say at the time how the youngest would have his wings clipped with that Irmo disappeared.

While soon another news came about Viserys made sure to take Otto's position as Hand.

Flashback

Viserys was with Otto in his private room there was silence for a while as Viserys spoke up"My father was a hale and healthy warrior and dragon rider at the peak of his abilities. Jaehaerys named a great royal hunt to celebrate him being named the Hand of the King. Five days later my... my father lay dead. Tourneys last longer. Baelon the Brave, rider of Vhagar, heir to the Iron Throne... dead of a burst belly. The gods have a dark wit. It was a grim day."

Otto didn't understand,but acted all sad and replied"Yes,I recall it all too well."

Visery looked at Otto with no emotions and said "Yeah... It was a good day for you. Jaehaerys named you Hand in Baelon's stead."

Otto tried to act all innocent and replied"That's hardly how I viewed it, Your Grace. It was a duty."

Viserys did fall for it and said"You served my grand sire nobly in his final days. You are the man that taught me how to be King."

Otto wasn't sure were this was going still replied "Oh, you honor me, Your Grace."

Viserys sighed and said"Just five days... you went from being another man in Jaehaerys's court, to the second most powerful man in the realm. I wonder... how long did it take you to choose yourself over your King?"

Otto acted confused and questioned"Your Grace?"

Viserys with remorce and slight guilty tone said"I will never recover from my son's death or Aemma's separation. But Alicent... she took me through the worst of my grief."then Viserys narrowed his eyes at Otto and added"She was a calculated distraction. I only now realize how well-calculated it was."

Otto with slight fear said"That is an absurdity. The Queen loves you... as I know you love her."

Viserys scoffed and said"My brother warned me about you,but I foolishly believed that you were my friend Otto."

Before Otto could say anything Viserys added "Your interests no longer align with those of the realm. Your judgment has been compromised. A loyal Hand must tell his king a discomforting truth from time to time, If he doesn't... he's failed as a servant. You were a faithful servant, Otto. The crown and the realm both owe you a debt that can never be repaid. But I can no longer trust your judgment."

While the news about his dismissal spread and Alicent who heard this went to question Viserys about this.

Let's just say she was humiliated was understatement,Alicent in slight anger questioned"My Lord why did you relive my father of his duties as Hand."

Viserys looks at Alicent with a frown and said"Because his judgements are clouded and he manipulated me into getting you here as my second wife."

Alicent was slightly worried,but she acted confused as Viserys sneered and added"Don't act like you know nothing,I know for the fact you were sent by Otto to bed me."

Alicent's eyes widened at seeing Viserys learned the truth,but she tried to set the narrative and said"My Lord it is just misunderstanding."

Viserys with anger yelled"Do you take me for fool to not see the so called coincidences in how you were sent to look after me just after my son's death and Aemma separation."

Alicent looked at down in slight fear,while seeing this Viserys decided not to take his anger on thr girl and said"Our so called marriage will not be revoked for the sake of the children."

Alicent with no one to turn to will get bitter with time and her jealously towards Rhaenyra would increase further when she hears news about Eragon courting Rhaenyra.
