Quests, Rewards, and Job Levels

Alec opened his eyes and was grateful to notice that he didn't have even a hint of a headache. He felt a body tightly pressed against his bare chest. He looked down, and sure, there she was, Hestia in nothing but her underwear, pressing against his morning wood.

Alec sighed and carefully took off her from on top of his body, and gently placed her on the other side of the bed. Then he stood up and stretched his body, letting out a yawn. He calmly went to the bathroom to take care of his morning business, and take a shower. He took his time to let the hot water wash out the remaining tiredness from his body.

He wore the same grey sweatpants and a white t-shirt that he wore when he met Kang, they were still clean and he just had to go out and get breakfast, after which he would check his system and go back into the Dungeon. He went out and went to the same bar where he bought the breakfast for Kang, as it was the closest to the Church and he wanted to be back as soon as possible. He was extremely curious to check the system and see what he got.

He was back in less than fifteen minutes. He sat on the couch while munching a chocolate croissant, and his cup of tea was on the table along with Hestia's breakfast. He decided to let her sleep in, as she did drink a lot the night before.

'System' he called in his mind and the familiar window materialized in front of his eyes.

Alec looked at the Quest with an almost bewildered face. Some items were quite useless to him, but it was to be expected. It seemed that the System Rewards Function had some set rules. For example, the Quest 'Reach a new Floor', increased the item rank every time it reached a multiple of ten. From the Tenth Floor to the Nineteenth, he would get a [C] or [Middle] class item, which then would increase to [B] or [High] class one. So on and so forth, it was pretty forthcoming.

It was the same with the Quest series 'First Slay', the item class depended on what Floor of the Dungeon he would first meet the monster.

Alec absentmindedly wondered if there was a reward for killing Humans, Demi-Humans, and Gods.

There were even some other interesting Quests like:

[Quest: Heal Hephaestus.

Heal the Goddess of the Forge from her curse.

Reward: Hygeia's Chalice [World Item] | 1.000.000 G | 100.000 S.P.]

[Quest: Grow your Familia: 1

Have another person join your Familia.

Reward: Unlock the Party Function of the System | 10.000 G | 1.000 S.P.]

Alec was really interested in both, and couldn't wait to complete them.

'Status' Alec decided to first level up and then check the items he just got.

Alec noticed that the amount of Gold and System Points was higher than what the Quest gave him, so he went through the log of his notification and noticed two things. One, the monster he killed gave him Gold, S.P, and after killing enough he would receive free levels. Second, every monstered he slew gave him the same amount of 100 Gold and 10 S.P. He theorized that monsters would give him more things once he reached the lower levels of the Dungeon, something that he would be able to verify later in the day.

He had 37 Free Levels, so he started to look through the Job Classes, deciding to leave the Race ones for a second moment. He wasn't really surprised to see the number of classes the system offered, nonetheless, it was somewhat overwhelming. There were so many options to choose from that it was saddening that he had only 37 Levels that he could spend.

Job and Race Classes could be divided into three ranks: [Common] that max at 15 Levels, [Uncommon] that max at 10, and [Rare] that max at 5. One has to start with a [Common] Job and then build up from there. For example, a smith to truly master his job had to invest 15 Levels in [Blacksmith], then 10 in [High Smith], and finally 5 in [Master Smith]. There were even more specialized Jobs still in the smithing Class such as [Armor Smith], [Runesmith], [Weapons Smith], [Item Smith], and more. It all depended on how many Levels one wanted to invest in them.

Normally, a player in Ygradisl would cap their Level at 100, but thankfully Alec didn't have this restriction. As long as he continues to slay enemies, he would gain free levels to invest as he pleased.

Racial Classes were further dived into [Humanoid] such as Humans, Dwarves, and Elves. The [Demi-Human] like Ogres, Minotaurs, Beastmen, and various mythical creatures find in fantasy settings. Finally, there were the [Heteromorph] races that can be anything from Angels, Demons, Dragons, Zombies, and much more.

The strongest races were in order [Heteromorph], [Demi-Human], and then [Humanoid].

Alec decided to invest his free levels into Magic oriented classes, after all, he had always been a sucker for anything magic related.

He put 15 Levels into [Wizard], 10 into [High Wizard, and a further 10 into [War Wizard]. The last two he put into the [Architect] class, it was still considered an Arcane Caster Class, even if it was weak and more focused on support, nonetheless by doing so as he would be able to acquire and cast up to Tier 6 magic thanks to the 37 Level invested in Arcane Caster Job classes.

Alec spent the next hour choosing the 108 spells that he had the right to learn. There were even more than the classes and ranged from healing, attack, and defense to utility, divination, resurrection, summoning, and much more. He was extremely excited, and he couldn't wait to try his new spells in the Dungeon.

Once he was done, he decided to check the item he got from his quests.

[Jormungandr Egg: The egg from the World Serpent. It needs to be fed mana and blood to hatch.]

[Ultimate Shooting Start Super: Lighter and more durable than normal bows. It increases the power and the accuracy of the wielder. When arrows are fired from this bow, it provides the user with the ability to pierce through the foe's armor and straight into their body with extreme ease.]

[Minor Healing Potion: This potion has the ability equivalent to second tier healing magic. It recovers half of the drinker's health through positive energy. The potion is able to immediately heal wounds in a matter of seconds by whoever drinks it. Also, it's a useful item against being with negative energy like undead creatures, capable of injuring them to a degree.]

[Pitcher of Endless Water: This flask can produce an endless flow of pure water.]

[Mirror of Remote Viewing: It's a magic mirror that allows the user to see and observe any known or unknown location. Like a computer screen, the user can manipulate the image perception, enlarging or minimizing the view using specific hand gestures to move through what the mirror is displaying. However, low-level anti-search magic is enough to hide from the mirror's sight and it can easily be destroyed when hit by an attack. Normally, this mirror won't offer a view indoors, but by using magic that creates and links the sensory organ, it is possible to do so.]

[Haste Boots: Increase the wearer agility.]

[Shooting Gloves: Increase the wearer dexterity.]

[Shadow Skin: A tight black full-body suit. It increases the stealth and defense of the wearer. It allows to cast [Odorless], [Silence], and [Invisibility] spell as long as the user has mana.]

[Corrosive Dagger: A dagger that will affect the cut target with [Tetanus].]

[Paralyze Powder: A powder that paralyzes the target. It can also use as an ingredient for potions, smithing, and alchemic products.]

[Blue Poison: A poison that causes hallucinations. It may also be used as an ingredient for potions, smithing, and alchemic products.]

[Quiver of Endless Arrows: A quiver with an endless supply of arrows.]

[Gauntlets of Archery: The magic that these gauntlets possess can greatly improve their user's shooting skills.]

[Momonga Plushie: A real size Momonga pillow. It has no particular power.]

[Infinite Backpack: It's an item from Yggdrasil that can be used to store other items Although it is called infinite, it can only hold a limit of 500 kilograms worth of items.]

[Chameleon Mask: By wearing the Chameleon Mask, it allows the user to disguise their face. As a result, a person's look can be changed by equipping it.]

[Flight Necklace: Flight Necklace is a magical amulet that gives the user the ability to fly. When wearing the necklace, if a user focused their awareness on the item, it activates the power hidden inside which is the [Fly] spell. Once activated, the user will be able to fly high in the sky, reaching the clouds.]

'Well, there are some neat things in there.' Alec thought once he was done going through the items. He was sure that he could use most of them, but some were not as useful for him. Not only he could use his jutsu, but now he had magic as well, but it didn't mean that he couldn't find a use for them. He was sure that in time, some member of his Familia could take advantage of the items' power.

Alec was quite happy with how things were progressing. He started to earn some good, and he was getting more powerful by the day. In addition, he chose the [Architect] Job Class so he could start the project for the renovation of the Church.

Alec noted that he spent a couple of hours using the system, and Hestia was still sleeping. It was almost 8 a.m. and he had a Dungeon to raid.

Hi everyone,

the new chapter is here! It's a bit slow as it shows Alec's rewards and Job Levels. Magic will be explored and explained more in later chapters.

About Alec's stats, I changed his Endurance from I - O to I - 21 as a reader suggested (Blake_ChoasStorm) that it would go up simply by using stamina, which makes sense, so the change. Thank you again for the suggestion.

Next chapter Alec will venture a bit lower into the Dungeon.

Thank you for reading and your comments. Feebacks are always welcome.
