Chapter 22: Custom Order

Arthur Leywin:

"I need to get Bella some starting equipment and a new sword for myself, but what about going out just the two of us afterward?" I asked Ryuu.

"How about going to the family-owned restaurant you told me about? What was the name... Yukihira something..." She answered, and I smiled at her.

"If you want to go there, I don't see why not."

"Oh, and you missed my birthday, so you owe me my favorite dessert." She joked, and we went to the others only to see Bella completely red and steam coming from her head.

"Bees and birds..." She muttered over and over again.

"What happened to Bella?" I asked them, confused.

"Oh, nothing, she just asked us something, and we answered her," Ayda answered, while the rest just nodded while chuckling.

My mind went back to what Sylvie said, and I pieced it together. Did they just corrupt my little sister? Maybe I should invite Remi to finish the job?

Storing the thought for later if necessary, I waited for Bella's brain to reboot before taking her to get her the equipment, starting with The Married Blades so I could make a custom order.

During the years of adventuring, I haven't spent much, so I had enough to make it, and I really enjoyed using the sword I got as a gift from Grandpa, so I wanted a similar one.

Entering the store, I saw the sometimes crazy old man who had been selling and repairing my swords for almost four years.

"Oh, if it isn't my favorite brat haven't seen you for a while, so how can I help you." My eyes twitched slightly, and he smirked. Four years and he still calls me brat instead of my name.

"Hello, Mister Shirou. I'm here to make a custom order for a sword." I told him with a smile.

"Oh, now you got me interested. What kind of sword do you want?" He asked, putting both hands on the table and leaning forward.

"A straight narrow blade thin like a rapier but with a double edge, so it can be used for slashing and thrusting and made of a material that can conduct a large amount of Mind through. As for the enchantments, I want the Durandal and sharpness effect. Oh, and preferably could you make the scabbard not so eye-catching."

He seemed to like my idea and already started muttering about different things on how to make it before looking at me and saying.

"You got it, brat. Come back in a week. I got the perfect material for you, especially your magic." I got excited after hearing that most of my swords broke due to overuse of mana, so I needed to reveal a bit about my magic so he could help me get something durable. Now if I can get something that won't break, that would be perfect.

He picked out a small round object that I instantly recognized as the marble I gave him all those years ago before shooing us out of the store, saying not to disturb him until he was done forging.

He even closed his store and went into what I call his marble mode, so I knew it was best not to disturb him until he returned to normal.

After we left the store, we went to look for some light armor Bella could wear and a backpack.

It didn't take long for her to find one that suited her and didn't restrict any movements, so we started walking back to the Stardust Garden.

"Hey, Art, what does your armor look like?" She asked while looking at her armor with stars in her eyes.

"Well... You see, I don't wear one." I answered while scratching my cheek and looking at the sky.

"..." She stopped and looking me with her mouth open.

"What!" She yelled at tried dragging me back to the store. "You told me armor is important, so you need one too!"

"Bella, I'm fine. I don't need one. I have a spell that creates armor for me... But I forget about it every time..." I told her with the last part in a low voice so she couldn't hear it.

"Really? Can you show me?" After hearing about magical armor, she immediately forgot what she was doing, so I chuckled. Mention magic, and she completely forgets what she was doing.

"Yes, I'll show you when we get back," I told her and patted her head.

While we are a similar age, she is almost two heads shorter than me. Well, I'm taller than most my age and could be mistaken for a fourteen-year-old.

We continued walking towards Miach Shop to buy her healing potions.

I feel bad for him. He is a kind, compassionate, and friendly God willing to go into debt to help one of his children, and they just leave him, so I have been buying potions from him. If I were reincarnated here under different circumstances, he would be the first God I would consider joining.

Thankfully it hasn't happened or hasn't happened yet, so I can only be happy for him.

Entering the store, we were greeted by Miach himself.

"Oh, Arthur, I haven't seen you for a while. I started to get worried," He stopped for a while when he saw Bella beside me "And who might this be?" He asked.

"Oh, this is my sister Bella. She just became an adventurer, so we are getting her starting equipment."

"Hello, Lord Miach." She said with a bow.

I proceeded to buy potions for her, and she needed to drag me out of the store due to the number of potions I was about to buy, with Miach chuckling, looking at us.

"Bella, you will need more potions." I tried to reason with her.

"I think twenty will be enough for the first floors."

"What if something happens?" I asked her, trying to change her mind.

"I will be on the first floor where only Kobolds and Goblins spawn, and as you told me before, I will be able to kill them easily after getting the falna. Plus, what would all those years of training mean if I couldn't even kill the weakest monsters."

"Fine, but just take a few more... Who knows if a stronger monster will appear on the lower floors." I said, holding two more potions in my hand.

"You are talking like a minotaur would appear on the lower floors... Fine..." She agreed after a while, so I paid Miach everything.

Then we went to my apartment so I could quickly change my clothes and went straight back to Stardust Garden, where Bella would live because my apartment is too small for the two of us, and after spending most of my money, I won't be able to find anything bigger for a while.

The other members quickly showed Bella her new room while I went to find Ryuu.

Authors Note:

Thank you for reading this chapter.

I couldn't find what types of enchantment besides Durnadal exist in Danmachi, so I used good old Minecraft sharpness.
