Prologue:The Good/Bad News

It had been a complete month since then last time that Tony Stark had last seen Steve, after their fight the brunette didn't want anything to do with him. He felt betrayed by the super-soldier, Steve clearly only cared about Bucky and that was why he never told him that it was Bucky who had killed his parents. Steve, of course, tried to explain to him that he was being mind-controlled but it was no use Tony was too stubborn to even listen to him. This war between them had only torn them apart even more, after several attempts Steve decided to give him some time so the best he could do was to go back to Brooklyn. Ever since then Tony had not seen him, he was not sure if he should be glad or upset he still loved him but he couldn't forgive his betrayal.

After their separation, the rest of the avengers had each gone their own way and the only ones living in the Stark tower were Pepper. Tony was glad that she had stayed with him; he was not sure what would've happened to him if she didn't. For the past few days the brunette was not feeling well, but he just simply brushed it off thinking that maybe it was something he had eaten or that he was just getting sick. To top it off this morning he had received a phone call from Nick Fury scheduling a meeting with him, something about the avengers initiative. So there he was rummaging through his closet when he began to feel sick, he ignored it still looking for something to wear.

When he suddenly felt this urge to throw up, he made a run for the bathroom closing the door behind him. He soon heard a soft knock on the door "Tony are you ok? Do you want me to call Bruce?'' it was Pepper she was always worried about him. The brunette flushed the toilet leaning back on the bathroom wall closing his eyes not replying back. Pepper knew how hard it must have been for him to find out that the person you loved and trusted the most kept such a secret from you. Yet she still tried to speak to Tony, encouraging him to talk to Steve, and maybe they could fix things, but Tony swore that he would never forgive him. Tony finally opened the door to the bathroom looking at Pepper then smiling "Hey you look good.Did you do something to your hair? It looks different today" he simply said trying to change the subject as if he wasn't just in the bathroom throwing up.

Pepper rolled her eyes following him back to his walk-in closet. She hated when he acted like such a child, he never lets anyone look after him thinking he can do it all on his own. But Pepper knew it probably had to do with his parents paying little attention to him when he was a child. Resulting in him looking after himself all alone which was understandable but sometimes was too much for her (a/n: I know that his dad was sort of the one not paying much attention to him.Just keep in mind this is a fanfic)"Tony I'm serious, you had pushed this off for way too long you need to get check out " she lectured.

The brunette completely ignored her as he picked up two of his suits then holding them up for her looking from one suit to the other "Which one?" he questioned her, he was not looking forward to the meeting but he had no other choice. Pepper had assured Fury that he was going to be there, she snatched the suits from him annoyed "Jarvis call Dr. Banner tell him it's urgent, that's a definite decision, get dress" she handed him back the suit and walked out of his room. A few minutes later the mechanic was downstairs and in the kitchen getting himself a cup of coffee.

Pepper entered the kitchen with Bruce right behind her, she smiled fondly at the brunette"Tony, Bruce is here" he sighed setting his cup down "Pep I told you for the millionth time that I'm fine" she whispered something to Bruce as he nodded his head. He grabbed Tony's arm and dragged him down to their lab, he punched in the number and the doors soon after opened swiftly. "Ok if you can please lay down on the bed"Tony did as he was told, he thought maybe if he went along with this and they found nothing wrong with him they would leave him alone. Bruce started running some tests on him. Just as they were waiting for the results Pepper let herself into the lab and made her way over to them.

"This has to be wrong" Bruce spoke finally, Tony looked at him confused and scared that there actually might be something wrong with him. Bruce ran the test a few more times but it still came out with the same results"What? What do they say?"Pepper asked just as worried as Tony, Bruce took a deep breath, then looked up at them both "The results show that he's pregnant" "WHAT? I CAN'T BE HAVING A BABY I'M A MAN" he yelled sitting up on the bed. Pepper was just as astonished as him but at the same time happy that she was going to be an aunt "The results don't lie, sorry Tony but you're having a baby" and just like that his life was turned upside down.
