Chapter three.

"Hidden quest:

The cat is looking for you; you better give her some milk.

REWARD: 100 I.P"

"... What." Dumbfounded, he rubbed his eyes as if to confirm he was reading the quest correctly.

"Well color me surprised." After confirming that the quest was actually real and not some silly joke from the system, he got up from the bed.

His eyes landed on the wall, more specifically, on the clock resting there.

"22:40... That's a bit late for a visit, isn't it?" Dressing up in some comfy black shorts and a thin white shirt, he walked down to the first floor.

Even before he managed to get to the front door, he could tell that she was already there.

Was that because he had developed an advanced reiatsu detection technique? No, of course not you silly.

It's because the cat was scratching the door, hard.

'... Doesn't she have any shame?' The system user asked himself.

'Former Commander of the Onmitsukidō my ass! She's just scratching my front door!' He was almost disappointed with how the situation had played out.

"..." Finally, he arrived at his front door and opened it without pause.

"Meow." A black cat was looking at him from the ground, its curious eyes exploring him.

'Maybe it's because i'm genuinely retarded, but i kinda want to see what her reaction would be if i called her Yoruichi.' The blue eyed boy thought, hiding his amused smile as best as he could.

"... Meow?" Yoruichi tilted her cat head to the side, curiously looking at her target. 'Is he just going to stand there the whole night?'

"... Wanna get in?" He finally offered, moving to the side as if allowing the cat to go inside.

Yoruichi didn't seem to need another invitation, since she entered the house without a second thought.

. . .

'Okay, this is really awkward.' Kuromiya thought, he was pretending to watch the TV at his living room, but he couldn't pay it any mind.

It had been around ten minutes since he had allowed the black cat to get inside, and since then it had done nothing else but watch him from across the room.

Truthfully, there was a few ways to make Yoruichi blow her cover, and he was seriously considering one of them right now.

'What's up with this boy? Rukia told Urahara that his Spiritual Pressure was high for a human, but this...' As Yoruichi watched the boy's behavior, she couldn't help but think that something was fishy. 'And now he has almost the level of a weak shinigami? That can't be right.'

"..." They both stared at each other, cat and human, fullbringer and shinigami.

"So... You're not a cat, are you?"

A second, no, even less than that, in no more than one-tenth of a second he was suddenly immobilized by a beautiful woman against the floor.

It all happened so quickly that he wouldn't be able to tell from where she had knocked him down.

"You'd better think your next words very carefully, boy." Yoruichi now in her human -and very nude form- questioned him, restraining his every moment. ''How did you know?''

'My decision was calculated, but man am i bad at math.' Holding that thought in his mind, he tried to remain calm.

It was still within what he expected from her, of course she would react with such animosity if he surprised her like that.

"I would really like to answer you but it's kind of hard when i've a naked woman on top of me…'' His eyes landed on her godly body, he swallowed hard. ''On second thought, I don't mind if you stay there a little longer.''

''…'' Her eyes narrowed at him, making the boy realize that she wasn't up for playing games with him.

''Okay, jeez.'' Realizing that she would really attack him if he didn't give an appropriate answer, he decided to explain himself. ''Fine, have it your way then.''

''I'm guessing that if you're here –whoever you're-, then you at the very least know what I am.'' He started, his eyes now exploring more than they probably should under such a serious situation. ''I'm very sensible to souls, and yours is clearly not a cat one.''

''…'' They both locked eyes for a few seconds, and finally she released his grip over him. ''Fine, I'll believe your explanation for now.''

''For now?'' The system user complained. ''By the way, how are you able to transform like that? I've never seen anything like that.''

That was a lie, of course, but he needed to act at the very least a little surprised or her suspicions would only rise.

''Let's just say that it's a unique skill of mine.'' Yoruichi avoided the question. ''But I'm not supposed to be the one answering questions, you're.''

''… Am i?'' He shot back, but he made sure to keep a civil tone of voice. ''You're the one who's in my house.''

''…'' That much was true, Yoruichi had to admit. ''I'll still need you to answer some questions to me.''

''You know… You should probably put a pair of pants on.'' Either Yoruichi didn't know or didn't care, but the fact was that ever since she had transformed back into human form, Akihiko was able to see every bit of her. ''Or don't, I won't mind either way.''

''I don't have any clothes with me, and you don't seem to be hating it either.'' Yoruichi countered. ''Now, answers.''

''Yes, yes…'' He trailed off, rolling his eyes at how hostile her behavior was. 'Then again, Aizen is her enemy, I can't really blame her for being overly cautious.'

''Then, what do you want me to answer? You've yet to ask a question.''

''What are you doing here?'' And so, she asked her first question.

This wasn't a hard question to answer, and he could probably get away with lying to her with something like: I'm running from Ginjo Kugo.

The question was, did he really need to lie?

''To be quite honest with you, I'm here because I need help.'' After a few seconds of debating what the best approach would be, he decided for an interesting approach. ''I know that Ichigo Kurosaki is… Some sort of substitute? I'm not really sure what he's, but I know that he's not a true blood shinigami.''

Of course Akihiko knew that Ichigo actually was a true blood, but feigning ignorance on that matter would probably make her lower her guard.

''… And, that girl, Rukia Kuchiki is probably the Shinigami who gave her powers to him.'' He made a short pause, just in case Yoruichi wanted to make any comment on the matter.

''Go on.'' She prompted him to continue.

''That's about it, really.'' He shrugged, if he said anything else it would be too suspicious so he needed to play the fool for now. ''I'm not really sure where you fit in on this matter, but I'm sure as hell not complaining.''

''… You sure are eager to flirt with me, but you don't seem really worried about me.'' Yoruichi finally commented. ''I could kill you easily, you know?''

''If I'm going to die then I might as well do so while looking at a nice pair of tits.'' He was feeling a bit bold now, after all if Yoruichi really wanted to kill him he would've already been dead by now.

''I would imagine it would be a nice way to die, yes.'' For the first time during the conversation, Yoruichi finally gave him a light smile. ''I'll believe you for now, but if you're lying…''

''Then I'll die, I know.'' He raised his hands in mock defeat. ''One last thing before you leave, though.''

''Yes? What's it?'' Looking at the boy with slight curiosity, she waited for his question.

''May I ask you your name?''

''Yoruichi.'' Before he could even try to comment on her name, she was instantly gone in a burst of speed.

''… Cool.'' He whispered, falling to the floor immediately after. ''Jesus Christ, I almost felt like she was about to crush me under all that Spiritual Pressure.''

''You do realize you almost killed us for a pair of tits, right?'' A voice he hadn't heard in a while said, with a tone of complete and utter disbelief.

''System!'' He almost shouted, surprised by its return. ''It's nice to hear you again, but… What do you mean I almost killed us for a pair of tits?''

''Don't play dumb with me! You totally did that shit to get to see her naked, didn't you!?'' It was hard to tell if the system was really angered with him, but that certainly wasn't an amused tone.

''Uh…'' Akihiko trailed off. ''Kind of?''

''Kind of!?'' The system blurted out. ''It's not a good enough reason to risk your life for!''

''Hey!'' The user finally defended himself. ''It's not like it was completely because of that, it was more like… 50/50.''

''…''

''Okay, maybe it was 40/60.''

''…''

''Fine! It was 30/70, but I still think that it was a reasonable decision!''

''How so?'' The system questioned, seemingly finally accepting his user's choice. ''Now they for sure know that you're not normal.''

''So? That's good.'' He explained. ''I always planned to have them as my allies anyway, I just accelerated things a little.''

''You didn't know that she would believe you though.'' The system pointed out. ''I told you, if you die, I'll die too.''

''Jeez, I'm sorry okay?'' He gave a half assed apology to it. ''I know her, she's not the kind of woman who would kill a human teenager without a good enough reason.''

''… Whatever you say, master.''

''They were a nice pair of tits, though.''

''I hate you.''

. . .

One day later.

''I hate you, I hate you, I hate you.''

'It's been a day already, get over it!' He answered inside his mind to the system, he had learned a while ago that he was able to communicate with it in such a way. 'So, are you going to help me with this whole mastering my fullbring problem?'

It was already past school time, and as of right now he was exploring the city.

''Like I told you before, you need a slight push to break through.'' The system explained. ''It could be either a fight or some sort of emotional push.''

'That's nice and all, but I can't exactly force myself to experience certain emotions.' He countered. 'I guess I'll just have to find a hollow then.'

''No, not really.'' The system corrected him, suddenly sounding amused.

'The hell do you mean by that?' Walking through the empty streets, he finally arrived at an equally empty park and suddenly had a bad feeling about the whole thing. 'And why did you want me to walk around here?'

''You don't have to find a hollow, they'll find you.''

The boy stopped at those words, suddenly knowing just what was that ominous feeling that he had been having for so long. It was almost instinctual, but the fullbringer felt an incredible urge to roll to the side, and he decided to follow those instincts.

Rolling away from where he had just been, he felt a sickening sound of something big crashing against the ground.

''…'' His eyes widened, for he was now just a few meters away from a six-meter-tall abomination, and it was undeniably a hollow.

It was a quadrupedal beast with a head the size of a car, aside from his white mask its body was almost completely of a dirty brown color, and a pair of threatening yellow eyes.

'System! Are you trying to kill me!?' Taking a step back from the beast, he screamed inside his head at the system.

''Survival quest:

You've encountered a hollow, a soul-eating beast who finds your high spiritual pressure quite alluring. You can either try to run and let it devour a few weaker souls, or attempt to fight it for higher rewards.

REWARD FOR ESCAPING: 500 I.P

REWARD FOR KILLING THE HOLLOW: 1200 I.P''

''Kill it!? I don't even have a weapon!'' He complained, jumping once again away from a devastating step from the surprisingly fast beast.

'Shit, shit, shit.' It was humiliating, but since he didn't have any way to attack, running was his only option.

''…'' His eyes suddenly opened, a sudden realization reaching his mind as he sprinted away from the beast.

'Wait a second.' Did he really not have any way to harm this beast? He didn't have any weapons, per see, but was he actually completely defenseless? He took a quick glance down to his neck, confirming he still had his necklace on.

For the third time, he was forced to roll down on the floor barely dodging another cruel attack from the angered beast.

'I need time still, perhaps If I could concentrate for a few seconds.' Even though his mind was assessing the situation, his body was still running away from the beast. 'Damn it, where's Ichigo when you need him.'

''Graaaah.'' The beast yelled at him, taking a vicious bite to the place where he had just been at a fraction of a second ago.

He felt a sudden cold sensation from his back, and realized that the beast had actually managed to bite off part of his shirt.

It was then when he realized something, more precisely, that he noticed something that was at the park. A small fountain, full of water.

A sudden memory from one of the only skills he was able to perform came to his mind, only that this time it would be on a higher scale.

'This… This could work.' He had a plan now, the problem was that he would need to get to the fountain in order to touch it, and he needed to get past the hollow to do so.

There was no more than three meters between the beast and him, and another seven meters after that to get to the water fountain.

''Bringer Light.'' He heard the system's voice whisper inside his head. ''You either use it now or you die, it's up to you.''

'Bringer Light', of course he knew that technique, but could he really use it on his first try?

'No, I can't think like that.' He corrected himself, after all the beast was already approaching him, its opened mouth now barely a meter away from him.

In that fraction of a second, he forced his brain to recall every single detail he knew about the technique.

Bringer Light, a high-speed movement ability unique to Fullbringers. It's achieved by pulling the soul from the ground beneath my feet in order to accelerate and increase my movements speed.

Ichigo managed to do it unconsciously, there's no reason for why he couldn't do it while actively trying. By now, the hollow was so close to the boy that he was able to smell it's disgusting breath.

And with that last thought, it happened.

A blink of light green spiritual energy appeared below his feet and not even a second later, he disappeared. No, disappeared wouldn't be the correct word, the correct explanation would be he moved so fast that he gave the impression of disappearing.

He blinked back into existing in a similar display of pale green light, but now he was standing next to the water fountain, with a hand pressed against it.

''Holy fuck, I'm alive.'' The blue eyed boy whispered, looking at the beast who appeared to be mildly confused about what had just happened.

''Hey, you filthy beast.'' He mocked the hollow, suddenly feeling a lot more confident. ''You're not getting a piece of me just yet.''

His mockery ended up eliciting a fierce roar from the creature, who was preparing itself for another attack at him.

And so, he poured most of his remaining spiritual pressure into the fountain with a single purpose in mind.

'Manipulate the water, just like before with the glass, only that this time…' He thought, feeling all of his energy disappear. 'Ten times faster.'

The water turned a deep shade of green, and it started levitating unnaturally, pointing straight at the hollow.

''Eat this, you dickhead.'' It happened in an instant, all of that previously calm water unleashed itself at unbelievable speeds against the hollow, smashing itself with force against the huge beast.

The aftermath was truly astonishing, the beast was actually completely dragged by the water pressure, being smashed after one tree after the other until it was at half a street away from him.

He didn't have time to admire his handiwork though, since immediately after that he fell unconscious, his body hitting the now wet flour with a loud 'tud'.

. . .

''Woah, that sure was quite the show.'' That voice belonged to no other than Urahara Kisuke, who of course had been watching the whole fight since the beginning. ''Wouldn't you agree, Yoruichi? I told you he would be completely fine!''

''I still don't like it though; he was almost devoured… Twice.'' The dark skinned beauty answered. ''Even if we needed to know if he really was a Fullbringer, at the end he's just an innocent human.''

''I don't like it either, but we can't exactly afford to bring him in unless we are absolutely sure he's all by himself.'' The store owner replied. ''Tessai-san, would you mind picking him up and bringing him to the store? I believe it's about time we've all a nice talk together.''

''Yes, boss.'' A gigantic muscular man with a moustache answered dutifully, quickly walking towards the fallen boy and picking him up with ease.

''Still… It's a bit hard to believe.'' Closely followed by Yoruichi, Urahara walked towards the way that the hollow had been sent spiraling towards, and found himself looking at…

''Nothing, huh? He really did kill him with that.'' Yoruichi commented. ''Though if he could do this from the beginning then why did he run so much?''

''I don't think he was capable of doing it at the start.'' Kisuke corrected her, straightening his hat as his eyes explored the aftermath of the attack. ''Nor do I think that he knew how to use that movement technique from the start either.''

''Are you insinuating he invented them during the fight?'' Despite how impressive the boy's performance was, Yoruichi had a hard time believing that such a thing was even possible.

''Not necessarily, it could be that he knew about those techniques but he just hadn't tried them before, still quite impressive though.'' Now finally done with his analysis of the fight, both Kisuke and Yoruichi left the place with a quick flash step.

. . .

"..." Slowly, a pair of blue orbs started to lazily open up, waking the Kuromiya from his slumber.

"Waaa..." The fifteen-year-old yawned, feeling surprisingly good.

It was only after a few seconds that he realized that he wasn't inside his house, rather...

'Oh, that's right.' He finally remembered the fight with the hollow, and was unable to hide a huge smirk from appearing on his face. 'But... Where am i?'

His eyes curiously wandered across the room at which he was resting, and he felt it was somehow familiar.

Unfortunately for him, his mind was too clouded with sudden anger when he recalled something.

'System.' He called for the source of his anger. 'You almost fucking killed me last night! How about a warning at least?'

"... Of course you remember." The system lamented, not even bothering to offer him any sort of apology. "Like i told you, you needed a fight."

'But i didn't even end up using my own fullbring, so what's the point?' He countered, after all the boy had defeated the hollow before using his own fullbring.

"You did make progress, actually." The system corrected him. "You just didn't use it, next time try to use it and you'll see what i'm talking about."

"Look who's up!" His mental conversation with the system was suddenly interrupted by the arrival of someone he had been trying to meet since the first time he had arrived at this world.

"... I'm afraid i don't know who you're." Kuromiya lied, feigning ignorance at the presence of Urahara himself.

"Hidden quest completed:

Meet Kisuke Urahara.

REWARD: 300 I.P"

"Hmm; i guess i should introduce myself then." The blond man answered, shacking his fan. "I'm Urahara Kisuke, the one who sent Yoruichi to spy on you."

"You're not going to get him to talk to you if you start like that, Kisuke." Yoruichi walked into the room wearing -unfortunately- her traditional orange outfit with tight black pants.

"I didn't really mind that, though." The boy interrupted their conversation. "I got to see quite an eye candy after all."

"..." Yoruichi rolled her eyes at him. "If you say so."

"See? I knew he would see things in my way too!" Urahara agreed, with an eager nod. "Though as much i would like to keep talking about this, i feel like we have more important matters right now."

"We do?" Tilting his head, the boy gave them a curious look. "Is there a problem?"

"You should probably dress yourself up first, we'll be waiting in the next room so we can have a nice chat there." Urahara assured him.

Soon enough, the two of them had left him alone once again.

"..." Now that he had some time to clear his mind, he couldn't help but think that this situation was actually pretty good for him.

'Urahara and Yoruichi don't seem to be hostile anymore, and they trust me enough to be at the store.' His glance ended up landing on his necklace, still resting at his neck.

"I can't wait to try you out..." He whispered, finally deciding to get up and dress himself.

. . .

"I'm ready." He announced, entering the new room and allowing his eyes to explore it. "So, what did you guys want to talk about?"

The three of them were now in a small room, with four chairs and a simple wooden table.

Urahara was sitting at one of these chairs, his hand fan resting on top of the table. Meanwhile, Yoruichi had decided to simply lean against one of the room's walls with her arms crossed across her chest.

Kuromiya decided against taking a seat, after all he needed to stretch his legs.

"I've a few questions for you." Kisuke finally started after a few seconds of silence. "Of course if you don't want to answer any of them, you can just say so."

"I'm down for a few questions, you did take care of me after all." He agreed without a second thought, it was in his best interest to have a good relationship with Urahara after all.

"Alright then, first question." Urahara gave a single clap with his hands, gaining the attention of everyone on the room. "Do you work for anyone?"

The system's user felt the glances of both Urahara and Yoruichi landing on him.

"No, i don't." He honestly replied. "Not for now, at least."

"Second question!" The store owner announced, his mysterious smile adorning his face. "How long have you been practicing with your powers?"

"..." Kuromiya made a brief pause before giving the man an answer. "For around a week or so, maybe a bit less."

He wasn't able to see it due to their positioning, but Urahara's smile widened ever so slightly at his response.

"Third and last question, then. Would you be open for a job at my little store?" That was unexpected, and he was unable to give an immediate answer.

"Kisuke!" Yoruichi looked to be just as surprised by the sudden request. "You can't seriously expect to drag a human onto this mess."

I believe we already did." Urahara countered. "Besides, it's just a request, he can say no if he wants."

"..." With a sigh, the beautiful woman silently agreed with her friend's words.

"... I'm afraid i can't give you an answer just yet." Akihiko confessed. "Plus i don't even know what you really do here, there's no way this is a normal store."

"Fair enough." Urahara agreed. "What if i give you a week to think about it? Would that be enough?"

"More than enough, actually." Akihiko nodded at the offer. "But it's time for me to leave, i'm probably already late to class..."

. . .

That same day, a few hours later.

It had been a long day for him after his chat with Urahara, since he had to deal with a few annoying souls pestering him during class.

He still had yet to grow used to the fact that he could see spirits, it was hard to ignore them during his school time.

Fortunately for him, he was in a good enough mood to not be bothered by a few spirits. After all, he now had a little more than 1500 I.P, more than enough for two new boosts.

Still, he had yet to spend any of his points, after all the fullbringer had something even more interesting to do before that.

'System.' He called, now finally back on his very own house.

"Yes?"

"It's about time to see... My fullbring."
