Black Market

"Being depressed isn't going to bring Old Man Seyhe back. Right?" Yami said them with a cigarette in hand.

"Yes, sir! It's just as you say, sir! Old Man Seyhe liked to see everyone happy and energetic. Come on. You guys should be laughing, too." Magna said turning to the three rookies.

Magna began laughing, Asta began laughing, then Noelle follows, and Madara stood there listening to everyone awkwardly laugh. Magna sent a glare toward Madara, but he was unfazed.

"That's how it should be. What happened to Old Man Seyhe is a shame, but you three were able to protect the villagers, and bring back the perpetrator. Be proud of that. Well done. Good job, you idiots." Yami said congratulating them.

"Yes, sir!" Magna said holding three fingers sideways to his chest.

"Thanks," Noelle said with a light blush.

Then Finral and Vanessa cane through a portal to relay some information. Nero pecked at Asta's head and started destroying things along with Noelle. Yami got angry and smashed a wall.

"All right, listen up. I've got good news." Yami said with his eyes closed and a cigarette in his mouth.

"Good news?" Asta and Noelle asked in unison.

"Wanna hear it?" Yami said getting them anxious.

"Your actions have been acknowledged by the Wizard King himself! You've been given a star!" Yami said holding up a yellow star.

"All right!" Magna yelled with a fist raised in the air.

"Yeah!" Asta yelled giving Madara a headache. He wanted to leave but he couldn't just yet.

"So, what are these stars?" Asta asked confused.

"Stars are awarded by the wizard king based on performance. The stars represent ranking amongst the Magic Knights Squads. The squad with the most stars are recognized as the best. Speaking of, the Golden Dawns is currently at the top with seventy stars." Vanessa said.

"We finally have a nice, negative thirty," Yami said looking at the board.

"Negative?!" Asta shouted.

"Huh?!" Noelle exclaimed.

"We're finally only a hundred away from the Golden Dawn," Yami said with a slight smirk.

"One more thing, here's your pay for this month," Yami said as he handed each of them a pouch of Yul.

Everyone except Noelle thanked Yami. When Yami left, everyone went their separate ways. Not wanting to be around the loudmouth and the annoying tsundere, Madara took his pay and was about to leave when he was stopped.

"Hey, Madara!" Vanessa called out to him before he could leave.

"Hmm?" Madara said as he turned around.

"Let's go shopping in the castle town tomorrow," Vanessa said.

Madara nodded his head and went on with his business. He went back to his room and pulled out the two boxes. He then jumped out the window and landed barely making a sound.

Madara opened the box and took out his special kunai. One by one, he placed his seal on the handle. He was going to practice with his FTG, by having five of his clones throw mana filled kunai at him.

With mana, the kunai would become stronger, faster, and more accurate. He summoned five wood clones and gave them ten kunai each. Madara grabbed some of his special kunai and threw them into the air.

The kunai became a white color, as it was thrown with incredible speed and accuracy. The kunai was faster than Madara, so wherever he teleported in the air, he would be met with a kunai.

*FWISH* *FWISH* *FWISH* *FWISH*

Teleporting to the kunai and dodging the kunai was getting easier because he was adapting to its speed. After thirty minutes, Madara had completely adapted to the speed, improved with his Flying Thunder God, and got accustomed to using kunai.

He then dispelled to get the experience. When he got the experience back, Madara summoned twenty wood clones. He gave each of them a kunai and told them to fight until there was a victor.

Madara on the other hand summoned ten more clones and gave them each a special kunai. For the next two hours, Madara fought against ten of his clones with the weighted kunai.

After two hours, Madara was covered in cut marks, a bloodied body, and bruise marks. Having to fight against ten of themselves was tiring and he was bound to get injured.

Madara dispelled his clones and got back the experience. He then dragged his bloodied body that was healing back into the hideout. Madara took a bath, ate, then went to sleep.

Flying next to Vanessa, Noelle, and Asta they were all on their way to castle town. Vanessa then asked some questions if they had ever been.

"Hey, stop touching me!" Noelle said to Asta with a blush.

"I can't help it. Do you want me to fall off?" Asta said as he grabbed on Noelle's waist. Noelle then pushed her off as Madara created a gust of wind and shaped it into an ark like vessel.

He made it big enough that two people can ride on. He was getting tired of flying, so he made that. Seeing how they were riding together, Noelle couldn't help but blush. She wanted to be where Asta was, but it was like whatever she did she couldn't get Madara to warm up to her.

While they were walking, people in the town noticed the robes and started talking. Madara could care less about what they said, so he shut his eyes and follow them by signature.

Vanessa picked up some stuff and then lead the three into a dark alley with a dead end. She then walked through the wall, surprising both Asta and Noelle.

Madara didn't find anything interesting inside the black market, but he chose to follow along. Not long after, he heard a sudden yell that made him dash in the direction.

"THIEF! THIEF!" An old woman yelled.

*SWOOSH*

Chasing after him with Asta lagging, Madara was able to catch up to the thief in no time. Until the thief started flying on a broomstick. Then the thief started laughing seeing how he would be able to catch him, but then, Madara started flying at blinding speeds.

When he caught up to the theft he grabbed his wrist and threw him into one of the buildings. The impact made a loud boom sound, a dust cloud, and a crater. Madara captured the thief then returned the money to the old woman.

"Here," Madara said as he handed the old woman the bag of Yul.

"Thank you, magic knights." The woman said while laughing.

"See you later, ma'am," Asta said while waving.

"Be careful," Noelle said with a hand on her hip.

"Live a long, happy life," Vanessa said before they walked off.

Madara took out his pouch of yul, then have it to the old woman. He bent down and said, "This is for buying my weapons, Julius." Then walked off with the rest of them.

"Magic negation, eh? That's a type of magic I've never seen before." The woman said as golden particle starts coming off of her.

"Actually... Is that even magic?" The woman said as her voice began to change along with her body. When she was revealed, it turns out the woman was the current Wizard King... Julius Novachrono.

"Madara... I didn't expect him to see through my disguise." Julius said with a complicated and defeated look.
