6 Chapter 6:Magic Knight Exam 2

After completing the first part of the second test, everyone's attention shifted to Ben, including the captains.

While the other captains looked at Ben with curiosity, Williams, for a second, appeared cold towards Ben.

"Hey, Williams, it's time to start the second phase of the magic strength test," Dorothy said, looking at Williams who seemed lost in thought.

"Uh...yes, let's start the second phase," Williams nodded and took the mic to announce the second phase of the test.

'Did I feel wrong? No, I felt something off about Williams, just for a second. Interesting, but I am more interested in his ability,' Dorothy mused, eyeing Williams and then turning her gaze towards Ben.

Inside the arena, every contestant looked at the destroyed target wall before Ben with wide eyes.

"What a monster! He was able to destroy that wall with a single spell. I was just able to make a crack appear on it," the guy beside Ben exclaimed, looking at the wall Ben destroyed and then back at his own handiwork.

"It's not fair! How can a commoner be stronger than me?" Another guy looked at Ben in disbelief, jealousy etched on his face.

While the crowd discussed, they were suddenly interrupted by a voice from the mic.

"NOW IT'S TIME TO START THE SECOND PHASE OF THE MAGIC STRENGTH TEST."

Suddenly, many sheets started to fly above the examinees in an irregular manner, each with a target symbol on them.

"YOU HAVE LAUNCHED YOUR SPELLS AT THE IMMOVABLE TARGETS. NOW YOU NEED TO LAUNCH YOUR SPELLS AT THE MOVING TARGETS WITHIN THE GIVEN TIME."

Williams displayed an hourglass with golden sand inside.

The sheets started to revolve around the examinees.

"LET'S BEGIN."

After Williams announced the start of the second phase of the exam, one of the examinees began to cast spells at the moving target sheets around them.

As spells hit the sheets, they vanished along with the sheet itself. When a sheet was hit, it would increase the speed of the remaining sheets.

"This time I will hit every target easily before the time ends," one of the examinees grinned, looking at the sheets moving around him slowly.

Examinees initially hit the targets easily, but after hitting a few, they found it increasingly difficult. Their mana started to dwindle due to the continuous usage of attacking spells.

"Damn, why is it suddenly moving so fast?" a guy screamed in frustration, unable to hit the target.

"Shit, my mana is running out," a woman panted heavily, staring at the targets.

Ben looked at the targets flying around him and pointed his finger towards them like a gun.

"TARGET LOCKED," Ben said with a grin on his face.

"Wait, what is that guy doing?" Dorothy pointed at Ben with interest.

Swish... swish... swish...

Condensed tiny fireballs shot from the tip of his finger at high speed, hitting the targets. Ben moved like a veteran in marksmanship. He started to hit every target without missing a single one.

After hitting the targets, Ben blew imaginary smoke from his hand.

"Did you notice, Nozel?" Fugeleon asked Nozel, who was looking at Ben with an amused look.

"Do you need to ask? How could I miss it?" Nozel looked at Fugeleon with an expressionless face.

"What have you guys noticed?" Rill Boismortier looked at the conversation between his seniors and asked with doubt, scratching the back of his head.

"His control over his spells is very high. Some of his spells corrected their direction towards the target even at this speed. I am very interested in this boy," Dorothy remarked, looking at Ben with stars in her eyes.

When Dorothy mentioned her interest in Ben, Charlotte turned her head, looking at her with narrowed eyes.

"____"

"Now my interest is increasing in him," Dorothy grinned at Charlotte, who looked very agitated.

'What... even Dorothy is interested in Ben... what should I do?' Charlotte looked at Dorothy, who was grinning at her.

"He has potential; he cleared two tests without even trying," Yami said, looking at Ben who transformed back to normal.

Williams didn't pay attention to Ben since he was not one of those he mentioned.

"ATTENTION CANDIDATES, THE MAGIC POWER TEST IS COMPLETED. NOW IT IS TIME FOR THE THIRD TEST, THE MAGIC CREATION TEST. YOU GUYS NEED TO CREATE SOMETHING CREATIVE OF YOUR IMAGINATION USING YOUR MANA."

Williams started to explain the third test to the examinees who looked very tired. Some even fainted from exhausting their mana.

"What? My mana was already depleted. Shigh... I can only hope I can pass the test." One of the girls in the crowd looked very depressed.

Some examinees even raised their hands to announce that they were giving up the magic knight exam.

"NOW SHALL WE BEGIN."

Williams announced the test had started.

Everyone in the arena began to condense their mana to shape it according to their imagination.

Some of them started to take shape while others were still struggling to condense their mana.

"Ahh!!! I give up."

Many examinees started to give up the test with a frustrated look on their faces.

Captains' stand...

"Many are starting to give up the magic knight exam due to mana exhaustion," Rill looked at the examinees who were giving up the exam with a disappointed look on his face.

"Well, this is the test that will show us their creativity and mana capacity. If they don't meet the minimum requirements, they don't have the qualifications of a magic knight," Nozel glanced at Rill with an expressionless look on his face.

"____"

Others didn't say anything and looked at the examinees to scout the talents they wanted in their squads.

"Well, what will this guy do? He looks very relaxed," Yami looked at Ben, who was observing the creation magic of other contestants.

"I am also interested; he has excellent control over his mana," Nozel said, looking at Ben while lost in thought.

'Will he be able to help Noel?' Nozel pondered while looking at Ben.

'What are you doubting? He will definitely outclass those scum men,' Charlotte thought, looking at Ben.

Arena...

Ben looked at every contestant. He was interested in seeing them create different things using their magic.

'Okay, now I need to create something using my imagination.' Ben once again clicked the button and started to rotate the dial screen.

Pressed the screen. Once again, the green light radiated from Ben. Everyone once again looked at the repeated scene.

All the captains' eyes were on the green light emitted from Ben. The light started to disperse.

"DIAMONDHEAD!!!"

Everyone's eyes widened, looking at Ben. His whole body was covered with green crystals, like a random figure with glowing yellow eyes. He wore a suit: black on one half and blue on the other half. Four large crystals jutted from the back of his shoulders.

"What? He can do crystal magic too..." Fugeleon stood from his place in shock, looking at Ben.

"Does he still have other types of magic?" Nozel also looked at Ben with wide eyes. He couldn't believe Ben had perfect control over two elements of magic.

"He looks very cool," Rill shouted from the stand, attracting everyone's attention.

'He looks very cool... at least I still understood how cool he is.' Charlotte looked at Ben with a red face.

The arena fell silent, everyone gazing at Ben in awe. When the sunlight fell on him, he began to shine like a diamond. Some women even started to cheer for Ben in the arena.
