6 THE PARTY

*ELIZABETH'S POV*

"Bye mom!" I waved my hand as I watch the car leaving.

I should probably get this over with. I hate seeing Sophia's face for even a minute, let alone having her for hours in the best party yet in my life! I bet she's even in cloud nine right at this moment. How dare she talk to Luke and day dream about Brian! She's nowhere in their league.

Let me break it to her gently.

"Sophia, I'm really glad you came." I commented after scanning her outfit one last time. Atleast she looks decent in the dress I bought on a whim. She doesn't even know what's going to happen next.

Looking at her expression, she seemed confused. Her brows furrowed, followed by a quick sigh.

Without saying a word, we walked a few steps down the pebble road towards Luke's front yard. I fixed my dress then my hair. I am the prettiest tonight.

As I come closer to the door, I can already hear and feel the vibration of the loud music playing inside. I can't wait to enjoy this!.

"What are you planning?" Sophia asked suddenly. Did she notice it? Nah, probably not.. this is just her intuition kicking in. I smiled inside. I feel excited.

Instead of verbally answering her dumb question, I opened the door to reveal my little surprise.

Right there, her eyes widened as if she saw a ghost. Her mouth dropped. My plan was perfect. Well, If it wasn't for Luke's sister Stacy, who sent me a photo of the place... all of this preparation would have been impossible.

Every one inside stopped with whatever they were doing and focused their attention on us two. There were giggles and laughs from the bunch of teenagers as well.

She definitely feels ashamed.. because her outfit matches the table cloth and the chair covers.

"Now you got your answer Sis!. I hate you having the same face as me. There should only be one, don't you agree?" I spitted the words. I feel so empowered with the crowd on my back.

When I thought this couldn't get any better... I saw her tears well up. She bit her lower lip to stop it from trembling. Poor Sophia. You are just meant to be beneath me. Now she knows her place.

Seeing her frozen from where she stands, I decided to end this show.

I wanted to make sure that she will remember this day her whole life.. but as I was about to say my best line, Sophia blurted the words I never thought she would.

"I hope you trip and break your nose. Then you will no longer look like me!" She yelled, stressing those words one by one while looking at me straight in the eyes.

This is the first time that I witnessed this emotion. She has always been passive and easy. This doesn't feel like her if I must say.

As those thoughts came rushing inside my mind... I saw the entire white part of her eyes, down to her blue iris turn black in a matter of seconds. I blinked a couple of times to confirm what I'm seeing but before I could even check it again, Sophia already left.

Storming outside the house.

Now, I'm the one frozen. I don't even know how to react.

"Elizabeth! You look great as always!" A soft female voice called out. I turn my head to see Stacy coming towards me.

She's wearing a white spaghetti dress with black curved line design on the sides to emphasize the waist line. Her matching black gladiator hills is to die for too.

"Luke is at the pool side with Brian and Mike. Let's go and meet them." She continues while gently pulling both of my arms.

"Stacy... did you see that?" I asked.

"What now?"

"Did you see my sister's...?"

"Oh, yeah. Saw her walking out. This party is ain't for her anyways."

"Not that Stacy. Did you see my sister's eyes?" I debated. I just wanted somebody to tell me it wasn't what I thought it was.

"What are you talking about Elizabeth?.. I don't understand." She replied as she let go of me. I can feel her nervousness.

"I'm sorry Stacy. Can you help me to your room instead? I think I'll be fine after a minute of rest." I gave up trying to figure it out. I came here to impress and that's what I'm gonna do.

She lead me to her room. It has a nice pink and blue mix of colors on the wall and even the furnitures - very pleasing to the eyes.

"Are you fine on your own?" she asks after I have settled down on her mini sofa.

"Yup. Thanks. I'll go down in a bit. I have yet to display my sexiness right?" I laughingly answered her.

"Yeah, Yeah" she rolls her eyes and left.

I leaned back so I can fully relax my head. The noice downstairs sounds muffled now, making me a bit more calm.

"YOU'RE NOT HER"

I heard a distant murmur but ignored it.

"WHERE IS SHE?"

Another whisper echoed.

I sit up and looked around.

"Stacy..?" I called out but got no answer from her.

"Stop playing around guys. I want to have a quick rest"

After so, I lay down this time. I feel my body starting to feel heavy.

"WHERE IS SHE?!"

A loud, angry voice penetrated my ears.

I jumped from the seat, fell down face first - hitting my nose on the hard floor.

I can't see my surroundings. All other senses are working fine but my sight.

I tried to crawl my way to the door.. extending my arms in front of me as a guide.. still trying to be rational of what's happening.

I can feel the edge of the center table.

I touched the vacuum cleaner on the floor and my shoes that I took off earlier.

I feel like I'm getting closer... untill I bumped into something hard.

"YOU'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE"

a rough, guttural voice breathed

into my ears... and that's the last thing I heard.
