90th Floor

As we continue to go down deeper into the labyrinth, we encountered different types of monsters. This time, we fought these giant ass snakes in a desert level along with some equally gigantic worms. They were annoying to fight since they can hide their biological signals and presence when hidden under the sand.

"Damn it! Yue, fly up high. I'm gonna turn this whole desert into a freaking hellscape."

"Alright"

"Don't blame me, you bastards!"

I flew as well and waved my hand. Countless gigantic flaming balls and arcs of lightning spread through the skies, blanketing over the whole desert.

"Die..."

As I wave my hand, the flaming balls fell like rain. Each of them was like a miniature sun with temperatures comparable to the surface of the sun. I know this due to A-chan, she guaranteed that.

[Yes]

As the flaming rain fell continuously, I let my lightning storm wreak havoc next. Each one is hotter than my flaming balls but their purpose isn't to damage the sand. Each lightning arc seeped into the sand due to my control and started frying those annoying worms and snakes underneath. No one is spared, let it continue for a few minutes while I was in mid-air with Yue.

"Hajime...are you a human?"

To Yue's bewildered expression and question, I chuckled.

"I was but I don't think I am fully human now. I ate numerous monster meat and lived after all. My body structure changed after that. So it's more appropriate to say, I am a human-monster hybrid."

It was also confirmed by A-chan. It seems even my genes changed so what I said is true on a fundamental level.

"I see..." I saw her expression. It seems like she was worried or something, it was a mix of emotions. "Do you...regret it?"

[Answer. Individual 'Yue' seems to be worrying about whether you regretted becoming a hybrid from a human.]

I noticed that already, A-chan but regardless, thank you. But I couldn't help but chuckle.

"Don't worry about me, Yue. I was bound to become something other than a human after all. A hybrid is a small change compared to that."

Yeah, in my quest to find ways to travel to different verses, being human is just an obstacle. For my goal to be achieved, I need to surpass my limitations, one of which is my racial limits.

"Bound to become something other than a human...?"

Right, I haven't told her my goal. Maybe it's because this body's original owner got betrayed but I seemed to be affected by it as well even though I didn't personally experience it and only got it from memory.

I stared at Yue. She was in a similar situation with 'Hajime'. She got betrayed by the ones she cared about and protected just because she was unique. Maybe that's the fate of someone unique, the others will fear you.

Why am I thinking for this long? I've long decided about this subject of the time we spent together. Although it was a relatively short time, we shared some close-to-death situations. Yeah, even with my stats this high, we still encountered many situations where we had a close brush with death.

"Yue, do you know I kept going and challenging this labyrinth?"

"Isn't it to go back home? That's what you said to me." When she said these words, I notice a shift in her emotion.

"Sorry, I lied, well technically not. Anyway, it is one of my goals but that's still too far away." My home is on Earth not the one 'Hajime' and his classmates were from but a different Earth. I'm sure I can travel back home if I successfully traveled to a different verse. But I have no way of pinpointing where it is so I need to get extremely powerful and travel to different multiverses.

"Then what is it?" She asked, not even least upset that I lied to her.

"...First, I need to gather all ancient magic. Only after that can I fulfill my other goals."

"Ancient magic?"

"Yeah, it's the reason why I'm challenging this labyrinth. I can't explain it clearly since I only know them from reading but I'm sure after reaching the deepest floor of this labyrinth, we will find the answers."

I did not lie, technically, I only read them from the wiki and did not know all details. I'm not even sure now if they're still the same since reality and fiction are bound to be different. Although this world may seem the same, I can't be sure.

"Anyway, looks like it's done. We should also get going. We're already on the 90th floor."

We looked down on the aftermath of my attack. The whole desert has turned into melted glass and underneath, I can see those worms and snakes were charred. Their bones are tough though to withstand that temperature.

"Let's go to the next floor, Yue."

I can already see the passageway down.

"Yes, Hajime."

It took us another month before reaching the 100th floor. Overall, the journey from the 1st to the 100th floor of the true labyrinth took three months in total due to setbacks along the way.

"This should be the last floor."

"Woah~"

We arrived at this large room with a clean white floor made of large tiles made of pure Albanite which is the hardest stone in this place. The room was about as big as four football fields with four pillars holding up a high ceiling of about 50 meters high. On the opposite side of this room, I saw a double door looking out of place.

"Can you feel it, Hajime?" Yue asked.

"Yeah, I knew the last floor isn't that simple. We haven't seen any monsters since arriving, it's weird."

My instincts are telling me there is an ominous situation ahead but we can take it. We have become stronger during our journey here. I helped Yue with her spells too since I can imagine several from all the games I've played.

We also sparred with each other often during our occasional breaks. I can confidently say, Yue, is stronger than her anime version. Her arsenal of spells is large to the point that she can do similar feats that I can like turning a whole forest level into ash.

As I was thinking, I was interrupted when I noticed the large summoning circle that appeared in the center of the room. Crimson arcs of lightning crackled as the summoning circle was activated.

And what appeared from it surprised me...

"Well shit...isn't that a fucking..."
