Chapter 68: Secret Base

In the late afternoon, a man was spotted coming down the south street of the city with a dozen slaves trailing behind him. Some onlookers who saw him moved aside, seemingly afraid to draw the guy's attention.

Even though they knew nothing about the man, they determined that he was not a good person, as the city is full of treachery and deception, but they dare not say it aloud.

As they knew, people like them have no voice nor power to fight for their life if they offend an unknown person.

 The merchants only care about shrewdness and income. Soldiers don't have justice in their hearts. Nobles only think about their pleasure and benefits. And the king only listens to his equals in power.

Nothing good has ever appeared to them as normal citizens, so they can only pray for those slaves to find a good master or have a quick death in their lives.
