56 Alastair's Castle

"Come out," Licht calls out in an empty room. A few seconds later, a black portal appeared before his bed and Draywein stepped out. Licht gets off his bed and goes into his closet. Getting a coat, he was now wearing a plain white shirt and blue shorts with a long black cloak with a clip at the neck.

"It would have been better to finish this earlier, but someone took his time," Licht mentions with a grim voice, passing a knowing stare to his dragon. Draywein tried to counter the accusation, but with a piercing stare from Licht, he was silenced.

"Lead the way, Matt will be back in less than three hours." Draywein nods silently and walks back into the portal; Licht follows closely behind.

Passing through the portal the scene quickly changed. Unlike the dorm that smelled of comfort; the barren land before Licht smelt like death and rotting corpses. It was all grey, not a hint of color was found on the landscape. A large stone castle blocked the view of the sun, it looked dark and eerie. Licht could see moving corpses in the distance away from the castle.

Licht's nose wrinkled in disgust, "Moving corpses." He murmured as a shiver ran down his spine.

"Undead to be precise. That person is a necromancer." Draywein informed Licht of the person they came to deal with.

Licht nods in response as they make their way into the castle. There was no undead near the castle, which Draywein found weird. According to Draywein, necromancers are extremely territorial with hundreds of undead guarding their lair. The walls were bare, not even painted; the inside didn't smell as bad as the outside, but it was just uncomfortable with its musty smell. It was clear it didn't get much maintenance.

Just as Licht was about to question Draywein's information-gathering abilities, he hears someone speaking.

"Trash. Trash. Trash. All of them, dammit!" The voice said. Licht turned to Draywein, and Draywein nodded in reply to Licht's question. Yes, it was Alastair Alderman.

Following the sound of his voice, Licht and his dragon were led to a spiral staircase that led downstairs, a basement perhaps. Walking down the stairs, a faint green glow could be seen.

Licht's steps slow down as he turned around the corner; he's greeted by a woman.

An unconscious woman.

An unconscious woman in a tube filled with green liquid.

"What the…" Licht trailed off as he didn't want to give his position away. Using [Appraisal], Licht decided to check how alive she was.

Name: Lily Vee Demilion

Age: --

Species: Human

Gender: Female

Level: --

Hp: 0/2300

Just as Licht thought; with a sigh and a silent prayer to respect the dead innocent, Licht watched Alastair. Licht knew of the woman in the tube, she was the woman Alastair was in love with, but unfortunately for him, she didn't feel the same.

They both went to the Arias Academy, while Lily was the perfect beauty of the year, pretty and strong, Alastair was that summoner that wasn't any different from other summoners. He was basically just one of the extras in a crowd of people. He was happy enough just researching though, aiming to become a researcher in the royal court. A rumor went out; lies came from all corners accusing him of lots of things. All because the second prince was interested in Lily.

To be frank, Lily had some of a positive opinion towards Alastair; further driving his desire to chase her, albeit discreetly. Though it wasn't to the point of romance or friendship even, Lily and Alastair were 'convenient acquaintances' who one could speak to get rid of the awkward silence. Everyone knew of this, but second prince Elliot could not stand his loved one talking to another man, but him.

After being exiled, Lily disappeared soon after. After searching for half a year, the situation died out and a funeral was held for her.

"Finally!" The shrill yell causes Licht to flinch. Laughter came soon after, "Yes! Yes! I finally did it! It only took me ten years!"

Licht sighs as he walks into the room. Beside a messy table of suspicious fluids, stood a skinny man with long unkempt black hair. He was dangerously pale with his veins visible through almost translucent skin; he had bags under his eyes and his eyes were a dark blue. He didn't look healthy, something that was very common when someone fell from grace.

"Are you trying to revive her?" Licht asks.

"Yeah, and then, she'll finally…finally…" His head whips over to where Licht is standing.

"You don't really believe that do you?" Licht shook his head. "You know of me, so no need to introduce myself, right? Now, why'd you do it?"

Licht walked closer, and Alastair's expression was clearer. He was fuming and shaking in anger. Yup, he definitely knew Licht.

"How are you here?" He murmured lowly as his hand slowly crept behind his back. Licht raised his brow at the action and shrugged, "Shouldn't be explaining why Lily Vee Demilion's corpse is with you?"

Alastair is about to reply when Licht interrupted him, "Nevermind that. It's pretty obvious what you did. Let me guess, you want to revive her?" Licht taunted.

"Do you think she would love you, without your orders? You probably don't care but-"

"SHUT UP!!" Alastair yells and spittle escapes his lips. He juts out his arm and a skull with a visible rune on the forehead is thrown out at him. Alastair turns to flee, and as Licht is about to give chase, the skull, still above the ground, light up dangerously.

It vibrates for a split second before exploding. The heat was not unbearable or painful, to be frank, but it was unexpected. As the burnt skin on Licht's body began to heal, Licht frowned.

"Sure enough, slow and steady is the way to go. It's unlikely he would go down without a fight."
