System Invitation

I was just a normal student. The one who doesn't stand out.

"Hey Ryu. Have you heard of the new game that was released?" A friend of mine sat beside me.

His name is Cris. A friend of mine since elementary.

I looked at him and tried to recall what he was talking about.

"The System?" I made a blind guess.

"Yes! That one!" He said enthusiastically. But looking at his face, it looks like he hasn't tried it yet.

"What about it?"

"It turns out to be a banger! Everyone has been talking about the game! It's basically a snatch." He said while proudly telling me the elements of the game.

"What are you folks talking about?" I felt a person standing behind me.

I urged Cris to shut up but he wouldn't stop.

I gave him the look but Cris was so into it.

"We're just talking about a game!" Cris said as he turned to the face who was asking.

Suddenly, his face was grabbed and slammed on the desk along with mine.

"You dip shit. I don't care about no game. Since when did you have any authority to keep blabbering like that?" This person is Theo.

Theo Einstein, a bully known in second year which completely contradicts his name.

"What are you looking at? Huh?" Theo noticed me staring at him in which he pressed my head further into the table.

"Theo! Stop that!" Another person cut in.

This time it was a girl named Sol.

"What now? Everyone kept pissing me off quite lately. Do I look like a pushover to you all?!"

Theo pushes through our desk and runs towards Sol.

He grabbed her by the collar while giving her a mean look.

"You think you're safe just because you're cute?" His strength is above average as he was able to lift Sol slightly.

Sol's yellow hair sways as she shakes her head.

"Theo stop this!" I stood up and shouted at him.

Wait... I stood up and shouted at him?

Ah... I'm fucked.

All I remember was Theo looking at me for a split second and he ran immediately to punch me in the face.

My body could still remember how badly I hit the desk before I was knocked out.

Ah... My face. I could feel the aches as I touched it.

"Damn Theo. I'll get you one day." tears fell on my cheeks as I looked at the ceiling.

This isn't the first time it happened, it's just one of those days.

When will it end? When will it change?

The next day was the same, Theo bullied us and everyone kept acting like a robot so they won't suffer the same fate as me and Cris.

I was getting tired of it.

But that's not the case for the game Cris recommended to me.

"System! This one really is good just like he said."

A system, huh?

Wouldn't be nice to have one like that as well. I bet my life would be different.

As I look at the screen, I can't help but imagine life would be if I have a system.

Until I doze off...

The next thing I knew was my spirit separating from my body that was laying on the floor.

The game was still running.

What the fuck?!

Am I actually dead?!

I couldn't believe it. Suddenly a light spanned towards me and pulled me from above.

There I met a higher being with its face covered, and only purple shadow covers it.

The cloaks make it even harder to know who it was.

"Mortal. Your life has nothing but disappointment." says the being.

Disappointment? He's not wrong. I was just a loser in that life.

Though, I wished things were different.

"Do you want a second chance?" It dawned on me.

Have I been living my life to the fullest?

Could there be a solution from all the problems I've been facing?

I began to ponder about it as I stood before the god.

"Yes. I would like to redo my life. I want to change. Please."

Did I really mean that? But I lacked resolved.

What if things would be the same?

What if...

No.

Things wouldn't be the same.

I won't let it happen.

A change has to happen.

"Very well, I've seen enough. I shall give you one special gift so that your life wouldn't be as pathetic as you are now."

 When I closed my eyes.

I began to feel a different world vibe coursing through my body.

When I opened my eyes.

I was in another world.

I saw myself looking in the mirror.

Small frame, black hair, black eyes, bruised up and a dojo cloth.

"An eastern life?" I touched my face to check if it was real.

I really am alive!

In another person's body too?!

This is...

I don't know what to feel.

I could only look at the ceiling to see what the gods had planned for me.

This is Wuhan Sect, a family bloodline known for its ice prowess.

It consists of a head which is my father, Zelda. My mother is named Lauren, and I have two siblings.

Yuno, the eldest which is the brightest one. The assumed successor of this clan.

Mira, the youngest who has beauty that could rival the royals. She might not be talented like Yuno, but she's smart and cunning.

Now me, Jin. A mediocre.

I knew it...

I'm still useless.

I spent years trying to catch up with my siblings however I couldn't make any progress at all.

Yuno went to Illustrious Academy, the school of the brightest prospects. And Mira is going there two years from now.

While I have no future compared to them.

"You promised me..." A tear fell into my cheeks once again.

I was standing on top of a chair while wrapping a rope in my neck.

"I can't. I give up." I was lifeless.

To think I would still be useless even in my second life.

I don't want to get my hopes up anymore.

"Goodbye, world." I slowly traced myself in the chair till I reached the end and the one I expected to end broke.

The rope end snapped which made me fall from the chair and ended up destroying it.

I was hurting as hell as I touched my back.

"Damn it..." I ooze in pain.

As I looked up, I saw a screen hovering in front of me.

"System Activated. The system invites you to be a player? Do you accept? 'Yes or No?' says the system."

Holy shit.

I might've struck gold.
