Young Life Pt.3

"Courtnie!! Duck!!" A telepathic message hit a woman in a black robe.

This robed female drops her head below the level of her breast by lowering her knees. An arrow passed her head, stabbing into the tree behind her.

Another arrow targeted a monster with green skin, long hear, stubby legs and long arms. With a hefty force, a hole was blown through the goblin's face. The arrow splint into a tree and blood splatters across the dirt when the goblin hit the ground.

The woman aimed her staff at a goblin. A Chk sound, something close to rocks rubbing against each other swiftly could be heard. Then a flash of light followed with a spark travelling toward the target. It touched the goblin's skin and set its face ablaze. Screeching and screaming could be heard until it drops to the floor from third degree burns. Separate sparks touch the face of two other goblins causing the same effect.

Arrows warp around the obstacles in the terrain, stabbing through the chest of two different goblins.

"We really need another member." The archer drops down from whatever place they were hiding in. Who's revealed is a 14 year old person with a tawny brown skin complexion. Their ears were pointy and long. Their eyes put a shade over his eyes yet the crimson illuminant coming from his iris could easily be seen by even the blindest bat.

"That's harder than you think. There isn't anyone else in the guild that's around our age and none of the adults bother themselves to be grouped with children." Courtnie, their 15 year old companion informs him.

"And that's why we can only do D rank missions like these." Agil, the Woodland Elf scratched the back of their hood. "Let's just grab these ears and go back to the guild."

"Hey cheer up Agil." Her arm cuff over his nape. A bright smile comes from the girl. "We aren't in a rush. Remember there's kids that want to be adventurer. Maybe one of them will join our party."

Agil sighs. "I envy your optimism." They couldn't stay disappointed after looking at Courtnie. Agil takes his dagger out that curved like a Kakri blade and begun splitting the ears of the goblins off.

Walking back, they see a boy outside the guild base walking toward the door. His face flashed in her mind, engraved once she caught a glimpse of him. A light a cute squeal is made which caught Agil off guard.

"What is wrong with you?" Agil angry at the high pitched noise that made their ear ring asked.

"Agil!! Did your eagle eyes not see that guy there!?" She tugged and pulled Agil's clothing.

"You mean Angela's son?" They answered.

"Angela had a son!?!" She was surprised at this news.

"She doesn't bring him around the guild so I guess you wouldn't know. You should go outside more." Agil playfully nudged Courtnie with his elbow.

Courtnie was a bookworm. Always practicing spells in her backyard or reading books so she never paid attention to much outside of that. "Well you seem to know a lot. Do you think he's going to become an adventurer like us?"

"Haven't you heard? Apparently, he's genius amongst geniuses. He probably came here to become adventurer to test his strength." Agil said.

"Then he could be third party member!! Right? Right? Right?" Her eyes sparkle like glitter illuminated by the sun's rays.

Agil was reluctant to answer that question. "Geniuses are usually stuck up. You sure you want to deal with that guy?"

"Maybe he's different. Let's go see!!" She grabbed Agil's hand and rushed to the guild.

"Ah! Hey! Wait!!" They exclaimed.

The guild was rowdy filled with men and women of different shapes and sizes. The guild wasn't just a place adventurers gather to form parties and take on quests. There was a food and beverage bar with chefs. Tables to drink at, people conversing amongst each other and having a good time.

Entering the guild, Claudius was at the front desk. He was greeted by a woman with black hair that stops at her nape. Her eyes were hazel, lighter than most you'd see. She had a slim yet round face with not thin nor plump lips. She wore a black and white outfit that was basically a feminine tuxedo.

"Hi, you must be the kid Chloe recommended a week ago." She concluded.

"That's me. I got a letter telling me to come here because..." She interrupts him immediately.

"Oh yeah, the Ranking Staff reviewed your trial against Chloe and have decided that you meet the criteria to become an adventurer."

Claudius was pumped on the inside. Ecstatic even and it showed on the outside with a smile. "Really?!"

"This kid is so cute." The receptionist thought. "Um, yes. Your information is already within the system thanks to Chloe's assistance and they have given you privilege to start as a C Rank Adventurer because of your beautiful performance."

"Getting C Rank as a starter is amazing!!" He was delighted at the news.

"TAYLOR!!" She yelled.

There's was a few seconds of silence before "TAYLOR!!!" Was yelled out again.

A guy with a scratch post beard and a pony tail walks up to the front desk. In his hand was a bottle of strawberry wine. "What do you want, cow tits?"
