Chapter Four : Return and Training

It took a while for Joe to reach the teleportation station and as soon as he reached there he passed out.

After that the people guarding the station quickly sent him back to the city and he was admitted to the infirmary.

Joe woke up the in a bed and he saw it was morning through the window.

'Looks like they took me to the healer, still its hard for me to move my body'.

when he looked around he saw a middle man standing in front of his bed there was a book in his hand.

"So what happened to you, Joe ?" He asked.

"Ahh, it's nothing Mr.Neel I just got injured during a fight" Joe replied.

"Just injured hmm, you were unconscious for two full days and there were broken bones too. What happened I need to submit a report" Neel demanded.

"Sigh, I was attacked by a giant Ape when I was searching for an herb, It was a C Rank beast and I got the core inside my back pack if you want to check" Joe replied.

"We already checked your bag and saw the core, and why would you wander around the territory of a C-rank mana beast? That is a mission for a party, not a single individual, who gave you the mission ?" Neel Asked.

"It was a private transaction" Joe replied.

"I did not know it was the beast's territory I would never accept a mission like that. I got a little careless too" Joe said.

"Be more careful the next time, do some research before accepting a mission. Am I clear" Neel asked Joe.

"Yes sir" Joe replied.

After a while, Joe went back to sleep and was awakened by the head healer of the facility.

"Hello, How are you feeling ?"

"Been better. I am still sore and tired from the fight"

" That's normal. You had a serious injury and a lot of blood loss. You need time to heal and recover".

"I know, I know. But I hate being stuck in this bed. I want to get up and do something".

"I understand your frustration, Joe. But you have to be patient and follow my instructions. You need to rest for another day."

"Another day? But that's too long! I have things to do".

"Yeah, I know you want to train. We have been over this. your body needs the rest and the potions will need time to take effect. So rest for another day and you will be fine"

"Okay sir"

Resting for another Joe returned to his Inn and went to his room.

Joe knew he had to improve his magic control if he wanted to survive another encounter like that. He had learned from the healer that his magic was powerful but unstable and that he had to balance it with his other skills and values.

Joe practiced fire and light magic. Those were the two elements which has the affinity. He tried to combine both fire and light together and failed miserably. He then practiced his new spell fire blast which was a fireball that he will detonate on his will this was inspired form grenade explosions.

He then trained his light element which is usually a bright light sent to the target, he then tried to condense the light to shape and send it towards the target like a laser beam.

Joe decided to train his swordsmanship skills alone on the field, He wanted to practice his moves and techniques without any distractions or interruptions. He also wanted to test his limits and challenge himself.

He took his two swords and headed to the field. He chose a flat and open area, where he could move freely and safely. He also made sure there were no animals or people around, so he wouldn't hurt anyone or anything.

He started with some warm-up exercises, stretching his muscles and joints. He then did some basic drills, such as swings, slashes, stabs, parries, and blocks. He practiced with both swords separately, switching between them with ease. He also practiced with both swords together.

He then moved on to some advanced exercises, such as spins, flips, jumps, and rolls. He used his agility and speed to perform these moves, adding some flair and style to his swordsmanship. He also used his magic to enhance his sword's effects with fire and light magic.

He then set up some targets, such as wooden dummies, straw bales, or metal cans. He used them to practice his accuracy and precision, hitting them with his swords from different angles and distances. He also used them to practice his power and impact, cutting them with his swords with force and speed.

He then imagined some scenarios, such as fighting against one or more enemies, defending himself or someone else, or escaping from a trap or danger. He used his wits and creativity to solve these problems and overcome these challenges. He also used his heart and conscience to make decisions and act accordingly.

He trained hard and diligently, but he also had fun and enjoyed himself. He felt proud of his progress and achievements. He also felt confident in his skill and knowledge.

He trained for several hours until he was exhausted and satisfied. He then cleaned his swords and put them back in their sheaths. He then headed back to his room, where he would rest and recover.

On his way back to his room he saw the alchemist who requested him to collect the herb.

"Hello, sir. I'm Joe, the adventurer you hired to collect the herb from the forest".

"Ah, yes. Joe, I remember you. Did you find the herb I asked for?"

"Well, sir, I have some bad news".

"What do you mean? What happened?"

"You see, sir, when I was searching for the herb, I was attacked by a giant ape. It was a C-rank mana beast and it was huge. It almost killed me".

"A giant ape? That's impossible. There are no apes in that region of the forest".

"Well, there was one, sir. And it was not happy to see me. It tried to kill me".

"How did you escape?"

"I fought back with my swords and magic. It was a tough fight, but I managed to kill it".

"Did you fight a giant ape with your swords? That's incredible! You must be very skilled with the sword".

"Thank you, sir. But I also paid a price for it. I got injured in the fight and I lost a lot of blood in that fight and I was in the infirmary for three days".

"Oh, no That's terrible. Are you alright?"

"I'm alive, sir. But I'm not well. I need to rest and heal".

"Of course, of course. You need to take care of yourself. Come, let me take you to my house. I'll treat your wounds".

"Thank you, sir, for your kindness".

"Don't mention it".

"And sir, I won't be completing your mission so you should probably give it to a party or a group".

"Yes, I will arrange that for the next day you don't have to worry about it".

They smiled at each other and walked to the alchemist's house.

I hope y'all enjoyed the chapter.
