6 Chapter 6

Arriving at the Merchant Guild, he looked around and saw the dress Yun Che bought for the 'Heavenly Slaughter Star God' Princess Xing Tong Jasmine. Out of mischief, he decided to buy the dress and then he looked and saw that there was another dress which was golden in color and its design was similar to the one from before. He was a bit mesmerized with the dress as it looked mid-modern instead of the usual cultivator clothes. He decided to buy them thinking he might have its use when he will maybe find a damsel in distress or an injured one.

He went to the clerk and then sold all the things he had gathered in the months and got enough money to live a year lavishly. He then bought the dresses and then asked for the books if he could buy them.

The clerk told him that the books can't be bought but he could rent them and then give them back. He found the idea feasible but decided to wait and try his luck at Lan Rou's place as she said she had books too.

Long Chen traveled around the city and looked for the area where bigshots lived and checked their security. He was thinking of stealing all the books from one or two sects as it will be difficult after one as they will tighten their securities.

He had first thought of stealing from the New Moon Palace but then discarded the idea as the princess was staying there. He then decided to rob the Xiao Sect branch and it only worked as Yun Che's stepping Stone. This will get him all the items and change Yun Che's opportunities even if it was a small ones. After all in the end mosquito meat was still meat even if no one...

Deciding this, Long Chen was about to go to Xiao Sect Branch to check it up and that's when he saw someone he didn't want to meet now. He saw Princess Cang Yue a.k.a Lan Xuerou who was looking here and there and her eyes glowed slightly. Seeing this Long Chen knew that she was using her Monarch Heart Secret Art, so he turned around and disappeared from the street. He didn't want to get to know any of the people who appeared in the story, at least until the canon starts. He knows that if she senses him using her art she will stick to him for the competition even if it was a few years later.

And lo behold, it seems others have a different plan for him as Lan Xuerou indeed managed to sense him. Even though she couldn't look at his face, she did manage to sense endless fortune from him. The fortune, destiny, and luck were so bright that she got numb for a few seconds before she chuckled softly.

"It seems someone sensed me using the art and then disappeared. Haha! How I now wish I asked Uncle Wuyou to come with me so he could have sensed the fellow from before. May we meet again if fate permits, after all, I sensed you only by chance." said Lan Xuerou with a soft smile and then left with a chuckle.

Meanwhile, others were still looking in that direction as they were mesmerized by her smile.

Back to Long Chen. After he disappeared from the street, he went to the inn to look for Lan Rou. He wondered if there is a relationship between her and Lan Xuerou's mother as both had the same surname.

He asked Lan Xi where her mother was and was surprised when he got to know she had instructed him to tell him that she was in the courtyard waiting for him.

He went to the courtyard and saw Lan Rou sitting on one side of the table and reading a book while the other side was free and the table had a few snacks. He went to the side and sat down. Both sides greeted each other and then both went silent. There was an awkward silence between them before Lan Rou decided to break it.

Lan Rou: "Before we talk, I would like to show you something. Please come with me."

Saying this she started and walk around and then they reached a gate that had a few markings on it. Seeing them his eyes lit up as he recognized that it was a formation and even though he didn't know anything about it, he felt it was powerful as it could prevent anyone under Emperor Profound Realm Cultivator from destroying the room.

Even he felt threatened as pressure fell on himself for a second before it disappeared as if it wasn't there before but he knew it was definitely there as his trait and started working for the second and now was still working to adapt the body slowly.

Meanwhile, Lan Rou was once again by Long Chen. She knew that there will be pressure to check for any ill intent and even with that he was still calm. She knew that he was only 14 years old and then thought of how much of a genius he was. Not only in cultivation but in manners, personality, and temperament. That's why she decided to choose this step as it will help her more in the deal.

Thinking of this, she was more determined to make him accept the deal. After all, it was about her children's future and she will do anything to make it better even if she has to pay some price.

She then took out a token and used it to open the door. Both of them went inside Long Chen was amazed seeing the view. Instead of a few books, as Lan Rou talked before, there were a few shelves filled with books and each of them had marks that stated about what the books were about. He saw that there were some history books, stories, folks, lores, legends, etc. in a corner.

In the other corner, he saw books about ingredients, grasses, profound beasts, and alchemy.

In other corners, he saw books about formation, blacksmithing, runes ,and manuals of different weapons like Bow, Crossbow, Spear, Halberd, etc.

It felt as if he had entered the library of any sect or palace. Thinking of reading and getting all these, Long Chen looked towards Lan Rou and asked her with shining eyes.
