3 Entrance Exam

"Now that you are calmer, let's get started. We will immediately start testing your physical condition. Don't move, you will be called, understood?"

With every word that comes out of the instructor's mouth, a stone stuck in his body falls to the ground. He yelled with a smile on his face and everyone just nodded. The instructor looked terrifying with his smile.

People started walking towards the door as soon as his name was called.

"Talia State!"

As soon as the instructor called, a girl with short black hair nervously walked towards him, as soon as she passed through the metallic door, the door closed.

"Haaaa…" I sighed, the landscape in front of me is too extravagant.

It looked like the confrontation the instructor took part in had never happened, the students' moods were quite low after seeing what had happened to Octave.

Especially those with low-level skills.

A few minutes after the girl walked in the door, a technology screen descended from the ceiling.

On it was written:

[Talia State. 80 stat points.]

[Advanced.]

That was the exam to see his physical capabilities. It would help the Triangle to anticipate the skill level that students have.

In the novel, the highest number that appeared in this event was 100, being them from the characters of the readers chosen by the author.

But now, there was no way of knowing.

"Dreyden Stella!"

As soon as my name was called, I walked towards the metal door. passing by him, I could see a panel with the drawing of a hand.

"You just have to put your hand on the dashboard and wait." As he stared at a clipboard in his hands, the instructor warned.

Following his orders, I placed my hand on the dashboard and a blue light began to expand as a line went up and down over the dashboard.

As soon as the line disappeared, behind the panel where there was a giant screen, some words were described on the screen.

[Dreyden Stella. 100 stat points.]

[Elite.]

I couldn't hear what was happening behind the metal door. However, as soon as the results came out, the instructor who hadn't even given me a glance was now staring at me.

"Dreyden Stella".

The instructor's voice dropped and his steady eyes fell on me.

As I said before, it was not good to piss off an instructor, especially the one in front of me.

"Are you related to John Stella?"

He looked blankly into my eyes. I swallowed hard at the question.

John Stella, a top 83 esper in the world rankings, the current head of the Stella family and the father of Dreyden.

He is also the person who kicked him out of the family.

"Nope."

I tried to give the impression that I was calm, but I think I failed.

being kicked out of a family like the Stella family isn't just cutting all ties with the family, it's more than that.

It's you losing your last name, it's you being hunted by them and embarrassing them.

That's why the expelled members are sent away and to normal cities. So they don't get in the middle of the Espers.

The instructor was silent for a few seconds before nodding and silently he moved to the side where there was a lever.

He lowered the lever and a door behind him swung open to the sides.

"Go through the portal, that's where your skill test will begin."

I walked with trepidation towards the portal, I knew how this test worked, but it was the first time I was going to use an ability.

As soon as I passed the instructor, I could hear a 'good luck' before my vision went dark.

*****

"Huh? Looks like one has arrived."

"Yes. He's lucky to be the first, don't you think?"

It was dark. I could hear two voices distinct from each other, it felt like my hearing had been amplified.

Slowly, my vision started to come back when I could at least see everything blurry.

"Oh? He got over the effects pretty quickly, must be someone strong for that."

"What do you mean? Just the fact that he's here means he's strong, idiot."

I heard some footsteps get louder and felt two hands on my shoulders helping me up.

My vision started to come back quickly and in less than a minute I could see everything around me.

In front of me, a woman who looked quite young smiled at me.

"Congratulations on passing the gym's first test. You're now in the Triangle, in the Elite area. That means you have some of that. Quality."

Her voice, combined with her youthful features and her pink hair, carried a certain tenderness that made my body relax.

"What is your name?"

A guy who was a little behind her, asked. Unlike the girl, he was old but didn't carry an aura of superiority like the instructor.

"Dreyden."

I let out a shaky voice.

"Very well, Dreyden. Can you see that bag?"

He pointed to a stage where he had a bag hanging and a screen turned off beside him.

"The name of this test is skill display. And that sac is the power meter. Attack that bag using your skill as hard as you can."

I nodded as I started to walk toward the bag.

I knew about this test. Your result will define which elite class you will study.

In the novel, the protagonist uses his skill and gets 200,000 points. Almost reaching the S class.

My goal was to reach Class A where the main characters were located.

The requirements for each class were:

Class C 20,000 to 60,000 points.

Class B 61,000 to 130,000 points.

Class A 131,000 to 200,000 points.

Class S 201,000 to 500,000 points.

Classes D, E, and F are disputed by people who were not selected for the elite.

"I have only 12 points in strength. After Perception, it's my lowest stat."

I muttered as I walked towards the bag. If it was a test of strength, the most I could get would be a class C and I would barely pass.

Silently, I copied the way Octave moved his magical energy through his body. I felt my left fist heat up as the magical energy gathered there.

I closed my eyes as I stopped a few inches from the bag.

I had no strength, but my magical energy was the same as Octave.

Sparks started flying from my fist as flames began to grow over it.

The flames were intensifying and growing, as my arm was down, it reached up to my elbow.

"Argh!"

I groaned when I felt my skin start to burn. That was another difference between min and Octave, my stamina wasn't as high as his.

Fearing my arm would be charred, I punched.

BANG!

The heavy bag shook violently as the numbers on the screen beside it began to change.

I quickly deactivated my ability when my body gave way and I fell to the ground with my arm slightly burned.

"Hugh! FUCK!"

I tried to contain my groan, but I gasped in defeat when I felt the burn.

"He doesn't seem used to using his skill, that's weird."

The man looked at the woman beside him and said around with furrowed brows.

"It's not that. His stats don't keep up with his skill strength."

"Maybe. The requirement for the elite is 95 total points, if so your skill must be at least level 6 or higher."

"Look there."

As soon as the numbers stopped, the boy's expression was one of pure surprise.

"165,983 points!"

Even when his voice came out louder announcing the test results, the woman beside him was calmer than ever.

She rolled her eyes at her partner's childish attitude and walked toward me. Her hands glowed green and the burns on my arm faded to the naked eye.

"Hmm!?"

My reaction was a genuine surprise because when the protagonist took this test, this woman was not there.

Noticing my surprised expression, she helped me up before smiling and saying:

"My skill is called 'Short Time. I can rewind the time of objects and people in a few minutes, that's what I did with your arm."

"Er...Thanks."

I bowed my head slightly in thanks when I saw her raise her eyebrow.

"Usually when I say my ability, students tend to say theirs." As she carried me, she started mumbling to herself. "I get it, you don't mean yours."

Letting out a bitter smile, I shook my head.

The woman then released me. Watching her figure enter a room, I couldn't help but express my admiration for her. If it was other teachers, they would make me say it.

Cruelty is stamped on this world. Proof of this is that even though they took the trouble to heal me as soon as I got hurt, they waited for the test result to come out to see whether or not it was worth helping me.

It took me a few seconds to compose myself before I smiled and walked into the room she entered.

Looking around the room, I couldn't help but notice how spotless it was, as it almost looked like it was glowing.

It was a small room, there was a door on the wall in front of me and on the left wall, there were several uniforms separated by letters. On the right wall, there was a bench leaning against it.

Arriving in front of the uniforms, the woman picked up one that was hanging and said, "Congratulations, you've been sent to class A1."

The upper part of the uniform was gray with a thick golden diagonal stripe. In the place where the Triangle symbol was supposed to be, there was a small blue screen where my name was written in yellow.

The name went from left to right, followed by the score I took on the exam.

It felt like an infinite loop.

'Dreyden 165,983 points.'

The uniform was very chic and the pants also in gray with golden details matched well.

I was honestly impressed.

It seemed too expensive for me to pay.

"Go into the cabin and get dressed. Then wait on the bench until everyone has taken their tests."

Looking at my surprised expression, the woman immediately placed the uniform in my hands and pushed me into the cabin.

And for the first time since waking up in this world, I stopped to observe my appearance.

"Dude… I'm handsome."

My hair was cut on the sides and had a stripe made on the right side, on top my hair was high and looked like a mohawk that went straight to the back of my neck.

My eyes were orange, which was highlighted thanks to the golden uniform, and of course, I was black.

Being black wasn't a problem in this world, after all, there were all kinds of colors out there.

Even pink humans existed.

Of course, because of the effect of the ability, they existed.

Quickly putting on the uniform, I stopped for a few seconds to admire myself at that.

"I'm so hot."

I blinked at my reflection before opening the door and stepping out of the cabin. As soon as I left, I could see another student getting a uniform.

"Ah! You left, I was about to kick you out of the cabin."

As she did with me, the woman pushed the boy towards me, pulling me out of the way, she placed him inside the cabin and closed it.

Pointing to the bench, she gave me a few looks before leaving the room.

Quietly, I sat on the bench when I couldn't hear anything going on in the cabin.

As I tried to concentrate, ignoring my curiosity to know what was going on in the cabin, I couldn't help but notice the noise it made when the cabin opened.

"What a damn tight uniform!"

Pulling his shirt down, he gritted his teeth before noticing my presence. As soon as he noticed, he quickly put a smile on his face and walked toward me.

"Hey man, I'm Liam Strayford, Class B."

I shook his hand with a smile as he looked at the small screen on my uniform and his smile changed to amazement.

"Shit, did you get 160k points!?"

Quickly retracting his hands, he threw himself into the space beside me.

"No wonder your uniform is different, damn it. I used all my power and only got 120,000 points."

His uniform was different from mine. The golden details that were from my uniform to his were blue, in addition to the difference in the quality of the fabric.

Not that his fabric was bad, it was very good, but incomparable to mine.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Drayden, Class A."

Once the conversation was flowing, we were quickly interrupted when the door opened and the woman again entered the room.

Behind her, a white-haired girl walked in with an air of superiority.

I quickly recognized you, Dhara Silvius.
