Gaining A New Follower

On top of a roof, a figure dressed in dark blue clothing to blend in with the night was hiding his aura, slowly picking into the window below to look within him.

"Kid, you shouldn't do this." a voice entered the figure's mind, making him freeze slightly, but after a moment he shook his head.

'My sister needs that herb... I don't care what happens to me, but no matter what, My sister must get it.' the figure replied through his mind

"then try and speak to the guy and see if he is willing to trade. you're too hot-headed, please, I have a feeling he already knows we are here." the voice stunned once more, stunning the figure for a moment.

after some time, the figure moved and headed to the front door where he pushed the doorbell. it took a second, but the door opened and before him, Sora stood looking at him with a raised eyebrow.

The figure moved the clothing covering his face, revealing his face to Sora. it was none other than James. Sora just looked at him with a raised eyebrow, making James feel slightly awkward

"I came to see if you were willing to trade for one of the trades you have gained," James said awkwardly, Sora looked at him for a moment before nodding slightly. he opened the door, wide enough for James to enter.

"I looked into you, I hear you from the dumpster zone," Sora asked calmly as he went to take a seat, the dumpster zone as the name says is a huge island of pure trash. no matter the planet, there would always be trash, the only difference within this planet is that the trash isn't bad for the planet, but no one wants them, so they just threw them into that zone.

"Y-yes..." James said softly, expecting to be mocked or something, he had to crawl out from the bottom, the empire gave him this chance to change his fate so he held onto it, and to his lock he was talented

"That's impressive," Sora said softly stunning James slightly, Sora being of royalty expected that Sora would mock him or something, but instead, Sora praised him.

"I'm not one to judge others because of their past or station, looking at them they're the eyes of yesterday is shallowness, but looking at where they are today and where they are heading," Sora said while walking up to a chair and sitting down, James also took a seat opposite to Sora, while looking at the room.

it was far bigger than his hotel, it had 5 rooms, which were all huge, and filled with expensive-looking decorations, he expected nothing more from Prince.

"so, what do you want?" Sora asked with a smile, James took a deep breath as he calmed himself down. from a young age, he had a fire-like personality, he was the hot-headed type, and it was hard for him to think reasonably at times,

'how come such talent suddenly appear here, how could there be so many talented people popping up?' Sora asked in confusion, but the price for such information was too much, so he threw it to the back of his mind and looked at James.

"..." James bit his lips slightly as he thought long and hard about what he should do, he tried his best but his sister at most had 3 or so years before she dies, that was not enough time to clear the dungeon or for another flower to be grown.

"I don't have many things I want, but this follower is useful to me, another reason I wish not to give it up. but it would be a fair trade for your loyalty. from my background check, I hear you have an ill sister. I can promise you, with my power of life and death, I can find a way to fix her up." Sora said calmly, making James hesitate.

'take this chance. this kid isn't normal. as much of a talent you are, even you are no match for his talent. but with you, and his help, you can even surpass him sooner or later.' a voice sounded within James's Head, making James nod slightly before looking at Sora.

"then I agree... but I James kneel to no one. I'm willing to follow you, but I will not blindly follow." James said seriously, to which Sora nodded slightly

"Then here is the herb. I like your character and flaming personality, I believe you will not go back on your words." Sora said as he handed James a ring which he put the Golden Sun Flower within.

"Bring your sister over when you get the chance, even if I can't heal her, I can give her more time to live on," Sora said with a smile, James took the ring and after seeing the Golden Sun Flower within, James gave Sora a slight bow before leaving.

'it looks like he was listening to someone.' Sora thought after James disappeared, James thought for some time before shrugging, it would all come to light soon, and today too he used up a bit too much of his lifespan...

time passed, and in the blink of an energy, the morning arrived. Sora, Seth, and James stood before a throne where the empire sat upon. looking at them with a smile, how could he not after getting so many new talented people within the empire?

"you are all the future of this empire... Seth, you are unmatched in your way of the sword, you would be a good warrior in the future whose name would be heard all over our star system. this is a gift personly from me." the emperor said as a maid stepped forward with storage wring, Seth took the ring and upon looking within, his eyes widened in shock.

once the Emperor nodded toward him to take the item out, Seth took out a sword. Seth looked at the sword and felt himself being empowered by the might of the swords, the equipment could empower their users, but the strength gains depend on the grade of the item and how skillful one can use the item.

"Thank you," Seth said as he bowed deeply, the emperor nodded slightly before looking at James,

"you have the power to turn emotions into feelings, the processes had a hard time comprehending emotions, leading to it being destroyed. but emotions without any control is a double-edged sword, this is my gift." The emperor said as a ring was given to James, James took the ring and looked within and his eyes widened slightly. a mind-coming technique, that could also allow him to cultivate his mind, allowing him to be stronger.

"thank you," James said as he claps his hands, this was the very thing he needs. not he would not lose his mind or have trouble calming himself due to his power. So he was grateful,

"I wanted to take the winner of the tournament as my disciple, but I find out I'm not worthy. your talent is bright, and I guess your strength is not too far from reaching mine, maybe in a few years or less, you would be as strong or stronger than me." the emperor said stunning James and the others

"Emperor, being a teacher is not about strength but wisdom... I still have many things to learn, I'm nothing more than a brat. I have my ways to go." Sora said with a smile, The emperor smiled slightly at Sora's words,

"you are a bright kid..." the emperor said softly before walking over to Sora, and giving Sora a storage ring.

"This holds everything that I think you would need... my daughter is waiting for you in the garden," the Emperor said with a smile, Sora nodded slightly. the emperor went on to invite them to a meal, where not only they were invited, but everyone within the top 10 was invited. many people with huge backgrounds and high status arrived, but Sora disappeared as he headed to the garden where he saw Evelyn.

upon arriving, he saw Evelyn playing with a few animals, upon entering Evelyn froze for a moment before she stood up to greet Sora.

"Fiance..." She said with a slight bow, since Sora won, she and Sora were engaged and were to get married soon.

"you know you don't have to marry me, I will still keep my word. I prefer to marry someone who wants to marry me, not someone who is forced to marry me." Sora said with a smile while looking at the flowers,

"... I wanted you to win because if it's you, it's okay," Evelyn said with a slight blush, seeing Sora's stunned look, she blushed even more and avoided eye contact. Sora held out a finger, and slowly the animals flew over to his fingers.

"what's that?" Evelyn asked in shock as she sensed a unique life force aura coming from Sora, which draw that animal over.

"My power is based around life and death, it's hard but I could release an aura that could attract life forms towards me... by the way, I leaving tomorrow to head to my kingdom where I will be taking the throne and getting married. you're invited if you want." Sora said with a smile stunning Evelyn who gave Sora a weird look.

"you want me, your future wife to watch you get married to someone else?" She asked weirdly, making Sora realize his mistake.

"my bad, it's just I wanted to spend more time with you," Sora said awkwardly, to which Evelyn laughed slightly. a person marrying more than one person wasn't rare, it was common for males or females to have their harems, and some even had a mixed harem.

"I don't mind coming and showing my support," Evelyn said with a smile, to which Sora nodded with a smile. in her eyes, Sora needed her to take power, which was of course furthest from the truth.
