Understanding the Story of Spade

Stars littered the sky alone without barely a moon as Lani stared at the fire they made while roasting a rabbit over it and the more she stared at the flames she remembered how she became the last of her people the last of the Ferro clan.

It all had started Five years ago at the royal ball....

FLASHBACK

FIVE YEARS AGO

Lani could be seen in her room standing in front of a mirror twirling around in her silver dress as the almost white sparkled frills covered her from waist down making her look as if she was floating.

"You're beautiful just like your mother" A woman said as she stood in the door wearing a maid outfit with a black face mask as her brown eyes took in Lani's form "Why thank You!" Lani said excitedly Griselda, do you mind if I feed?" She asked as her maid gave her an arm willingly.

Lani drank from the maids wrist with a silent crunch and moments later she let go and smiled gracefully "Thank you Griselda!" The maid smiled while nodding in a slow but fast motion.

"Anything for you princess" She said as Lani could feel her pride growing feeling the respect of her family name while holding her head up high.

*BOOM*

She felt the shake of her whole home as the maid stepped out into the hallway as flames could be seen flying past her while she ducked back inside and started to barricade the door.

"Princess you have to escape from here it's not safe!" The maid said while heading for the window open it to see that her family domain as well was being set aflame.

The maid made stairs out of the wall that would lead Lani all the way down safe and sound "I can't abandon my family! I have to fight!"

"No!" She said grabbing two bags full of whatever it was inside as she handed it to Lani as quickly as she could "You need to survive, even if your family dies it'll all be in vain if you don't at least escape...at least the family name will live on with you princess" She pleaded while guiding her out the window.

"Once you find cover don't move until the threat is gone and once it's gone run as fast as you can and don't come back" She told her as another loud bang came from her room door as Lani ran as fast as she could away from her home as the flames burned down the area she saw no one and hopefully no one saw her.

FLASHBACK END

"Are you okay?" A voice all too familiar asked her as she looked her eyes up at Spade annoyingly and then gave a small sigh while grabbing the rabbit meat "Why do you care?...you're just this mysterious guy that can't possibly understand how I feel...I can even bet you never even had a family" She finished while hearing Eva gasp at her comment.

"Lani!" She shouted while looking at Spade wondering what his reaction would be to a comment like that "I had a family once...." He began to say while sitting down "except that they wasn't my actual family, I was adopted and my adopted father took care of me up until the incident" Spade said while reaching for his first piece of rabbit.

"Incident? What incident?" Eva asked as he looked over at her "He brought home another child...my older brother" He said while now staring angrily into the flames as if he was remembering the whole thing all over again.

"He is the most evil man I've ever crossed paths with, just like me he is also adopted but unlike me on his first day there he beat my friends damn near within a inch of their lives to prove himself the strongest among us" Spade finished while clenching up his fists angrily.

"That's horrible!" Eva said while covering his mouth, listening to the horror of his story "Surely your adoptive father did something to stop this?" Eva asked as Spade shook his head in the negative.

"Every since that day I have been in hiding getting stronger preparing myself to face him...so I can kill him" He said while turning his attention back to Lani "You may have lost your family but at least you had a family that wanted you, mines abandoned me" He finished saying to her as he stood up and headed towards a tree and hopped up onto a branch.

'I will kill you Silas...if it's the last thing I do damnit!' Spade shouted inwardly while clenching his fists and looking up at the sky remembering how his friends looked before him that day.

IN THE EAST COAST AT THE HIGH SCHOOL FOR MONSTERS

A bag being hit over and over could be heard as a boy could be seen as his hair was put up in a ponytail as his final punch destroyed the punching bag entirely as he began chuckling "I'm getting closer to my goal, and soon I'll become the conqueror of all! They all will scream ALL HAIL SILAS" He said as his chuckles turned into full blown laughter
