Sean dropped Irene and Alex at the mall and drove to Arthur's place. It was Rose's birthday, even though she wasn't in any condition to celebrate it. They had decided to do it themselves.

Arthur was already up when Sean arrived. Dorothy showed them how to decorate the house for a party.

When Irene and Alex arrived the house had been decorated so creatively they could not believe it was Arthur and Sean.

They helped cook, Sean put on Rose's favorite music making the house more lively.

Little Arthur was moving around that he gave the adults a hard time.

After preparing they changed into swimming attire and rushed to the pool. They had decided to do everything she wanted And since swimming was one of them they all jumped into the pool.

Arthur became busy teaching his son how to swim, Sean was chasing around Irene in the water and Alex was now busy with Ralph who had just arrived.

Later they played all her favorite games then had lunch at the terrace. After which the ladies watched movies while the men played video games.

Losing track of time, Dorothy saved them when she came in holding the birthday cake. The candles had been lit as she walked towards Rose's room, they all followed her inside.

The nurse stood beside her bed like the rest as they sang the birthday song.

Arthur blew the candles after he made a wish on her behalf. Ralph cut it since he was her brother and served it to the rest.

Arthur ate in his wife's place and his, his son on the other hand ended up jumping into the rest of the cake and eating it alone. They took pictures and shared memories of Rose.

Arthur after the cutting of the cake and sharing memories led them back to the terrace where they opened a bottle of champagne. He poured each a glass and had a toast to Rose.

As the party went on, Alex suddenly got sick which scared the others. She vomited almost everything she had eaten.

It had started with little nausea but got worse when she started to vomit.

Ralph had to take her to the hospital leaving the rest in a trace. Arthur wanted to follow but didn't want to leave his wife and son on her birthday. And since she was with her husband who was a doctor he didn't worry too much.

Sean and Irene had drunk most of the bottle making them drunk. He looked at them and sneered.

"You two seem to have made my home your hotel," he said as he walked away.

He told Dorothy to prepare them the usual room and walked towards Rose's room.

Little Arthur was asleep in his arms.

He placed him next to his mother and laid down too.

"Happy birthday my butterfly " he uttered into her ear.

"Today we did all the things that make you happy at home and your son enjoyed the cake more than us," he told her.

"You should have been here with us, smiling and celebrating your day. Can't you just listen to me this one last time and wake up, am almost going crazy without you here "

He closed his eyes releasing the tears he had held in them. He had been crying most of the time. No one knew since they thought he was strong enough to fight it. But he wasn't, seeing her in a coma lying motionless in bed for mouths made him go crazy that he wanted to shout out his pain. But his son, his friend, and hers all looked up to him to keep giving them hope of her waking up.

Like all the nights since her accident, Arthur cried himself to sleep next to her.

Sean and Irene had been given a room where they slept. Ralph called to tell them Alex was okay but no one received it. They were all asleep.

Ralph had thought it had been food poisoning since she had eaten a lot of different foods but was surprised by the news he received.

"She's WHAT?!..."

Not believing what he heard he asked again.

"She pregnant, that why her body reacted that way " the doctor explained.

Ralph had already tuned him off and was staring at his wife.

"Did you hear that your pregnant?" he shouted.

Alex was in tears as she hugged him, this was the most beautiful news she had received.

Ralph ended up crying from excitement and joy, he called Arthur's mansion but no one answer so he called Her parents.

Her mother almost hurt his eardrum when she screamed through the phone. In a few minutes, they had arrived at the hospital.

Coagulating them both her mother cried while her father was happy to have another grandchild in the family.

They drove them home and left a set of rules for them to follow.

" My parents are weird, how can they give instructions and advice about being parents to two wonderful doctors " Alex complained.

"Cause right now they were parents to their daughter and son in law, not to doctors "

Ralph helped her get comfortable and tried calling Arthur again.

After the fourth ring, he picked up.

"What happened to her?" he asked

"Nothing serious just some good news," Ralph said.

"What?"

"She's PREGNANT " Ralph shouted through the phone.

Arthur was shocked but still managed to laughed and coagulated them.

He was so happy to hear that his sister was going to be a mother.

"Am happy for you both, I will come to see her tomorrow " Arthur said.

"Thanks, brother " Alex who had grabbed the phone from Ralph answered back.

Arthur hung up with a smile.

But then he felt something wrong, he turned around towards Rose's bed.

Her eyes were open and her hand was weakly moving to her mouth. It seemed she wanted to pull off the oxygen mask.

Arthur threw his phone down and run to her. His heart was pumping at high speed, his hands trembled as he came closer to her. He wanted to say something but the words got chocked up. He touched her hand and stared into her blue eyes he had missed so much.

"Butterfly it's me " he finally said.

She looked weak as her eyes tried to stay open, her lips seemed to quiver but no sound came out. Arthur pressed the nurse's button who came in immediately.

She too was surprised to see Rose awake.

Arthur held her hand as the doctor who had just arrived checked her.

Rose's eyes never left his sight as her body was examined. His hands felt warm in hers which made her smile. Their eyes communicated without talking. Even though her smile looked weak and fragile it made Arthur feel alive.

Arthur cried as he said, " I missed you too butterfly "
