Get hit, Get up, Get hit, Get up, rinse and repeat until death. The reality of life changes once you take on responsibilities. The world always throws an issue at you and by the time your legs are stable once more does the world throw a left hook.

That's how my life has always been, down and back up. Never impressing and never disappointing. Through my 18 years of life many changes have occurred to the world. Monsters appeared and scattered the world and by the time the world regained its balance, I was already forced into the failing education system. Then "It" appeared and in droves it snatched people in regular intervals and no one that had disappeared was every seen again. Until, a man covered in blood and missing his right arm, had crawled his way out of a fantasy looking portal. The man was immediately rushed to the hospital and was eventually apprehended by the government who interrogated the man, who would eventually be known as "First".

***- Present

[Will you enter the Tower?]

[Yes]

[No]

I had no idea the impact this choice would have. Instinctively I clicked Yes as curiosity got the better of me.

[What Difficulty do you wish to participate in?]

[Easy]

[Normal]

[Hard]

[Death]

I moved my finger towards the holographic screen in front of me. After short hesitation I decided on Easy since this most likely was just a dream.

*** Present-Tower

The boy woke up in a unending white room, his head was flashing images rapidly of the scenario that happened moments before his loss of consciousness. He stopped his mind from running away and stood up to get into a protective stance, bracing himself for what's to come. Nothing came, 5 minutes went by, 10 minutes went by, 30, 60, 120, 180, 240, after waiting for 4 hours he finally decided to start walking straight.

Thoughts flooded his head trying to make sense of his current situation. He wasn't able to fully grasp the situation's true danger, but he did understand how he got here.

"What is The Tower? Where am I? What was the question marks?"

During his internal volley of questions he failed to notice the holographic screen that was hovering in front of him.

[Welcome to The Tower. You have been accepted to participate in The Tower. Treasure and Rewards await those brave enough to climb The Tower. All participant's are given a Status Screen to help aide their journey up the floors. Good Luck, you're going to need it!]

A robotic female voice played in his head, ruining his train of thought and snapping him back to reality. Before he could figure out about this Status Screen the voice mentioned he was met with another holographic screen in front of him, but this time it was different.

[Welcome to the Impossible Difficulty, After three megaannnum there is a new challenger deemed worthy to take this challenge. As you may have learned from the player system, there is a Status that players are given to aide their journey, but there is a secret that only Impossible Difficulty participants are given. 2 free skills are given to challenger's as well as the privilege to pick a weapon from the start.]

This time a gruff old voice read the words from the screen. His mind started race again wondering why he was getting an option to chose a weapon and the fact he was getting skills made him think of the 100's of light novels, manga, and manhwa he had read throughout the past couple years of his life.

The scenario he is in is reminiscent of a novel he read called "The Tower is Too Hard". He thought about what happened in the novel and decided to take extra caution with his choices. He decided to ask question, but a response wasn't expected.

"Are there monsters and magic in The Tower?"

To his surprise the screen changed and the gruff voice spoke again.

[Yes, The Tower is full of battles and risks, but you'll figure it out as you go. Right now you should focus on your choice of weapon.]

When the voice finished the area around him started to morph into a enclosed room with glowing pillars, each holding a different weapon. A Sword, a Greatsword, a bastard sword, a staff, a gauntlet, a tower shield, a sword and shield, there were too many to count. The two weapons that intrigued him the most were a small wooden stick which he assumed to be a wand for magic and a long wooden spear with a crude metal point on the end.

"If I chose the wand would I be able to use magic?"

[The wand is the symbol of a mage, boy. There has never been a case of a species who could not originally control magic, use magic. Well, maybe you could be the first, anyone who could be accepted by "It" should be deemed irregular and without natures limits.]

The words from the screen gave him more questions than answerers, but it also enlightened him of difference between someone in the Impossible Difficulty and someone in one of the original difficulties.

'It is better to be cautious and take a weapon that I can use.'

The spear was what caught his eye the most, it is a mix of offense and defense because of its long range. He walked towards the pedestal the spear was on and reached his hand towards it, but before he touched it another screen popped up.

[Do you wish to chose the Spear?]

[Yes]

[No]

Without hesitating he clicked yes and the spear disappeared from the pillar it was hovering over and reappeared hovering right before him. He reached his hand out towards the spear, grasping the wooden handle part with both hands. While he was getting comfortable holding it a new screen prompt appeared again, but this time it was different.
