Nathaniel memories: That part of the story Sebastian did not know

Nathaniel was looking at the papers in his hands. In them appeared the profiles of the students who needed tutorials in different subjects. He was used to seeing them on a daily basis and organizing them in a way that made the selection of students easier and faster. However, one of the profiles caught his attention way too much.

Sebastian Sorrow's profile was among the others.

He had been hardly surprised to see the photograph of his classmate, since it seemed curious to him that he needed help with studying. As far as he knew, the black-haired boy had very good grades, becoming a boy of excellence. You wouldn't be the leader of the congress if it weren't for that, right? Therefore, he must have a good knowledge of the subjects and extra classes would be unnecessary for him. So why was his profile in the line of those who really needed consultancies? Was it a mistake and had it been misplaced?

He hoped that's what it was about.

"What is that, Nath?" Hirsch asked poking his head over the boy's shoulder trying to read the contents of his papers.

Nathaniel said nothing. He kept thinking about the subject, because he did not believe what he was seeing. He felt the head of the redhead settle on his shoulder so he could see the profile, his eyes widening in surprise.

"Sebas?" He asked, taking the paper from his hands and analyzing it himself.

His eyes danced from one side to the other, reading over and over the information that was written. Nathaniel kept silent with his hands supporting his head, still not believing what he had read minutes before. And it seemed Hirsch was just as confused as he was. Of course, the redhead knew Sebastian better than he did, but even if he did, it seemed that the fact that the black-haired's profile had reached the consultancies zone surprised him too much.

It was not something you saw every day. That was for sure.

"What's about Sebastian?"

Yoram snatched the papers from the redhead, frowning the more he read. His hands closed around the sheet and Nathaniel feared he would crumple the paper too much, as he still needed it for his club. The three little ones in the group poked their heads out to see what was happening, but Yoram pushed them away causing them to return to their places, as he did not like that they were so close to him.

"Why do you have the paper of this ass...?" He looked at Hirsch, who did not seem very happy about the word he was going to use to refer to his best friend, because, even after what happened, he was still his best friend. Yoram cleared his throat before speaking again. "...of Sebastian?"

"Maybe his profile has been misplaced," Nathaniel clarified, taking the sheet back, trying to erase the folds that had been created on the sides. He would have to request another copy of his classmate's profile, as it was already in very bad conditions.

"I agree with Nath," Milo commented as he gave Kwan a spoonful of dessert, who let himself be happily fed by the boy. "Sebas is not the type of person who needs advice. His grades are too high, it would seem illogical."

Hirsch was silent with his gaze on the tray of the brunette sitting across from him, probably thinking of his friend. Nathaniel noticed this, and caressed his back carefully, hoping that it would help him understand that, perhaps, nothing was wrong with Sebastian and it was just a mistake. However, the redhead remained in the same position for several more minutes.

He took advantage of the fact that the minors diverted the subject to be able to observe the black-haired boy sitting a couple of tables away. He didn't seem quite right. His face looked downcast and, for a moment, he could see the real Sebastian Sorrow: that boy who showed the fear in his eyes. While it was not the first time he had looked at him in that state, it still amazed him how someone so weak and unprotected could get defensive so quickly.

"Sebastian is the mystery himself," he thought because, no matter how many times the black-haired boy treated him badly, Nathaniel was still curious about him because he knew a lot about Sebastian, but at the same time it seemed not enough.

Most of what he knew of the boy was thanks to Hirsch, because Hirsch wanted to make him see that he was not as bad as he seemed. He knew another part just by watching him and understanding his body language, which was too easy for the silver-haired guy. And maybe that was why he had no grudges with the older one like this one had grudges for him. Because, deep down, he knew that this attitude he displayed every day was only to protect himself.

He hit the "send" button, sending the message he had unconsciously typed. He had not realized the moment where he had picked up his cell phone and started typing. Hirsch had put his trance aside, talking animatedly to the boy sitting across from him. Tiger and Kwan were playfully pushing each other in their seats, while Milo was just watching them while smiling.

"I'm not going in a date with you," Yoram said, crossing his arms, but with a lopsided smile on his face. Hirsch leaned back on the table, pouting sweetly.

"I just want to go eat, fuck." the redhead screamed. "It can be any day you want, I'm always free."

"Since when did you stop speaking to me with respect?" Yoram kicked the boy under the table, causing him to complain. "Besides, I am always busy."

"Sleeping doesn't count." He received another kick. "Why don't you want to go eat? Nath can even go, if the two of us go alone makes you uncomfortable."

"Don't get me into your couple problems".

"We're not a couple!" They shouted in unison, both with a blush on their cheeks. Nathaniel smiled. He knew his friends were blushing without even having to see them.

His mobile vibrated when he received a reply to the message he had previously sent. He opened the conversation without thinking twice.

Sebastian: You did not answer my question. – 12:56

Sebastian: And yes, I'm fine. – 12:56

He wrote a new reply and sent it as soon as he finished. "You can't keep lying in the same way, Sebas", he thought at the last message Sebastian had sent in response. How many times had he said that and shown otherwise?

He understood perfectly those kinds of attitudes in the black-haired boy and, even so, he did not quite understand at all, ironically. He recognized that the older one was too stubborn and proud to accept that something was happening with him, but it seemed that, instead of trying to rid out this misfortune in which he was submerged, he preferred to continue sinking until there was no turning back.

The next message didn't take long.

Sebastian: So worried you didn't even visit me when I had a blackout. – 12:58

He nuzzled the bridge of his nose at the message, sighing wearily. How could he tell him that Hirsch had felt like dying when, turning around that time from the fight, he saw his friend falling? Nathaniel had not been present at the exact moment, but when he heard the hustle and bustle outside the classrooms, he did not hesitate to leave his own.

In the hallway, he could see a lot of students around something –or someone– that was not appreciated in naked eyes. The words they exchanged between them were mixed, making it difficult to understand the talks they had. However, a name was the only thing he could hear repeatedly. "Sebastian, Sebastian, Sebastian,...". Then the whimpers were present, quickly discovering who they belonged to: Hirsch.

Once he had made a path between the students and got to the front, he could see Sebastian's comatose body lying on the ground. To one side, Hirsch was on his knees with his hands on his friend's chest, moving him from side to side for him to react. Tears kept streaming from his eyes that were already red. He babbled a couple of sentences, hoping the black-haired boy could hear him. "Come on, Sebas, wake up, don't scare me like this", "Everything I said was not serious, but please, you have to wake up", "Don't do this to me."

Behind Hirsch, was Yoram, who stroked the redhead's shoulders to calm him, which did not give many results. Although, if it hadn't been for him and his strange way of giving moral support, the boy probably would have gone further into despair to the point of probably losing his sanity.

Jade's sobs were also present, but in a minority compared to Hirsch's. The girl kept her eyes open as she looked at the raven motionless on the ground. She was handling the situation very well even when she was quite close to Sebastian. However, it seemed that at any moment she would end up hugging the older man standing next to her in an attempt to seek support.

Jack was the first to come out of the trance and act. He pushed away everyone who was nearby so he could carry the black-haired boy and, in that way, take him to the nursery. Yoram had been in charge of dispersing the circle of students that had formed. Everyone, seeing the chestnut's face, disappeared in seconds leaving him, Nathaniel, Hirsch and Jade alone.

Hirsch didn't hesitate for a moment and ran after Jack. The other three followed the redhead's step to the nursery.

Everything had happened so fast that the silvery boy still couldn't believe what was happening at all. From one moment to the next, he felt terribly bad that he had unintentionally made his classmate angry because, if it hadn't been for it, none of that would have happened. On the other hand, he was really worried about the boy's health and hoped that it was all a simple scare that would last a couple more seconds.

Unfortunately, he recognized that things were more complicated now.
