32 On the way back

'Oh Gosh! What a smooth talker this Shenshah is!'

'With that glib tongue, no wonder he already has so many girls!'

Shao looked at Shenshah with bewildered eyes, her eyebrows kept furrowing.

With one hand she was tightly guarding her lips while her other hand was clenched tightly like she was wronged.

Her character was still trustworthy.

It was not that she was eavesdropping but that damn connection that she shared with Shenshah.

Every time Shenshah said something cheesy to Quanzhi, she too could hear it in her mind.

At first, she thought that perhaps she was hallucinating?

But once….

Twice…

Thrice…..

Those cute heart-touching lines that Shenshah kept saying to Quanzhi, started appearing in her head one after another.

But she didn't hear what other normal sentences Shenshah spoke to Quanzhi!

She only heard those heart-touching lovely lines.

At this point, she was sure: she could somehow hear Shenshah's greasy words but this was not all that….

Just some seconds ago, she felt a soft touch on her lips like a small peck, there was no hesitation about it.

Shenshah must have kissed Quanzhi on her lips before coming out.

The residual heat and warmth that Shao felt on her rosy lips made her feel as if she was the one who was being kissed.

Her mind was in a complete mess.

Her pure body, unknowingly got descreated because of that fuckin connection she is sharing with Shenshah?

And worst of all, she can't even vent her frustration or harm him lest she will too share the damage.

Annoyed, she glared at him with her big eyes while Shenshah just stood there trying to figure out the situation.

'Hey, what's the deal?'

'Why is this rabbit girl looking at me like she wants to eat me?'

'I am sure I did nothing to annoy her, right?'

"What happened?"

"Did someone make you angry while I was talking with Quanzhi inside?"

Shao, upon looking at Shenshah's sincere eyes, figured it out in an instant.

No matter how she looked at him, his expressions were the same.

'Wait, looking at him like this.'

'It seems he has no idea that I can also hear his romantic talks and even share his lover's senses when being intimate!'

'If he knew about it, then he would definitely tease me and make fun of me….plus how shameful it is for me!'

'If this information goes out then my majestic image that is a little bit left in his eyes will completely crumble and I may even be labelled a pervert later-on.'

It was just a fleeting moment but Shao seemed to have thought about countless things at that very instant.

"Nothing, it's just I remembered something about a bad guy that made me a little angry."

Shao's face was slightly twisted as she uttered those words.

She was now sure…

Must never let Shenshah know about this secret.

Otherwise, she will die of shame!

She only has to endure this for 90 days anyway.

"Yeah, of course things went smooth."

"Let's leave now, my business here is done!"

-Shao nodded at my words as we started walking towards the exit.

Thankfully, on our way out, we didn't see that scammy Naagina.

'She must be sulking down in some corner right? Her only friend chose her enemy's side instead of hers, this should have given enough of a shock to her aloof heart.'

I was not worried about Quanzhi; she was a big girl. After 15 days, she will come to me on her own when our secret plan is completed anyway.

As we moved a considerable distance away from the sect, Shao who was docilely following me eventually spoke.

Throughout the process she had kept her head down like she was struggling with something, so I was interested about what she wanted to talk about.

"Shenshah, there is someone important that I must meet! We have already walked enough distance and there is no sign of Naagina! After all, she is a famous sectmaster, her pride won't allow her to chase after a mere disciple. So you should be safe on your way back. I will meet you shortly thereafter, once my things are done!"

Seeing some hesitation on my face, she quickly added.

"At most, I will be back in two days."

Hearing that, I felt a little relieved.

Although she had promised to protect me for 90 days, she was still a free girl. If she really wanted to back down on her promise and leave giving no regards or whatsoever, then nothing could have stopped her.

"But how will you find me? You don't seem to know where I live, right?"

I questioned the last thing on my mind.

"It's easy, with my personal disciple token that I gave to you earlier, I can sense your location as long as we are on the same tower floor."

"I see."

"Oh wait!"

Just as she was about to leave, I quickly remembered something important.

Her footsteps halted as she turned back,

"Now what?"

"Do you have some book or manual giving detailed information about this tower that we live in?"

"You see, I suspect the pamphlet that Naagina gave me is not correct."

Since that bitchy sectmaster cheated me of my spirit stones and strongly disdained me, I was sure: How can that pamphlet which she gave to me when she brought me to the sect for the first time be okay? There must be some ghosts in it too.

"Oh?"

"Show me what she gave to you?"

Shao, who was initially frustrated by my calling, showed some interest.

From my pocket, I handed her the pamphlet titled- A beginner's guide.

Shao took it and started reading it.

The pamphlet which seemed a bit old due to being a little faded had only 3 pages, she finished reading it in one go.

Sighs~

Shao gave a comforting sigh.

Her eyes were full of sympathy as she looked at me.

"It is good that you showed this to me or you would have been duped Shenshah."

With a flick of her fingers, she burned the pamphlet.

"This pamphlet is like 2000 or 3000 years old, now lots of things have changed in this tower. You can say everything in it is almost obsolete."

"As expected of that bitch Naagina."

A part of my mind was relieved for being quick witted.

Had I not asked Shao to check it, I might have been duped.

You know, unless you are a core member of the sect, that is having at least the foundation level of cultivation, information regarding the tower is not available to you. Since I planned to leave with Xenia, Saharika and Quanzhi pretty soon, we would have completely relied on this pamphlet for our future travel planning.

I can't imagine what danger we might have run into had we blindly followed this old pamphlet.

"But you don't have to worry!"

"Your new master carries all the important stuff with her."

From her spatial ring, she took out a small diary.

"This is my personal hand written journal which contains all the important information regarding the first 95 floors which I have been to along with other important miscellaneous details."

"You can keep it for the timing."

I hurriedly catched the diary which she threw at me.

After answering one or two more trivial things, Shao left, and not to forget, she also gave me a big capacity spatial ring; maybe she was being considerate or took real pity on me?

But whatever the reason was at least her treatment towards her disciple was a hundred times better than that Naagina it seemed.

I put the diary she gave me in my new spatial ring as I resumed the journey..

While I was walking my way back home, I fell into a deep contemplation.

No matter what reason I gave, the current world that I transmigrated to was a world where the strong rules.

Similar situation was there back on earth but due to democracy and activities of various human right organisations, the rich people weren't able to exploit and cheat the poor that openly.

But here the situation was quite serious.

As long as you have the strength, the others obey you no matter whether you are right or wrong.

I still vividly remembered how close to death I was when I felt Naagina's overwhelming rage for the first time...when Shao was about to kill me earlier, the palpitations sent down my heart that I may lose my everything the very next second made me realise yet once again how fragile a human life was.

If I had enough strength or had some good background would I be bullied like that?

I am pretty sure that as I travel to other places, I will meet even more strong and strange people who may even be a hundred times more unreasonable.

In future, can I stand there foolishly when someone wants my life?

In future, can I stand there helplessly when someone who coverts my wives wants to snatch and take them away?

Should I just weaky and powerlessly compromise everytime the situation is unfavourable?

No matter whether you want it or not, the fact is that if you want to protect your loved one in the long run, then you have to join this power struggle.

Even if you don't actively look for trouble, can you guarantee that the trouble will not look for you?

Because I can't guarantee it.

Even now I did nothing but had already earned the ire of Naagina, one of the prestigious sectmaster on rankings. Looking at her resentful face before leaving, an upcoming revenge in the near future can be very well expected.

With such thoughts, I finally called out the only thing that was my backing in this world.

'System, are you there?

'Can you hear me?'

A/N : Although I had already mentioned in my other books, I will say it here again as many of you asking why there is no new ch- Since I am on a vacation(break), don't expect regular chs for atleast a month or so.

But one ch will come tomorrow as I had already written it in advance.
