1 The Resolve to Die

A dark messy room with the only light being from the computer. And a boy only 16 years old was typing on said computer looking for something. He wore a black dirty hoodie and his eyes were drooping from the lack of sleep. 'Ah, I want to kill myself…' He thought, and every 30 seconds he would repeat these words in his head.

On the computer, he was looking at an article about the most recent tower emergence. His face held a trace of amusement. There were also other article titles to the side that pertained to this event.

New Tower of Death? 50 Civilian Deaths and Over 100 Traverser Deaths Recorded.

"Fuck, I wish I was one of those people." He said out loud. He knew that he shouldn't be this way, he shouldn't be showing jealousy over the deaths of others. But his desire for death made it impossible not to feel in such a way. He read through the article some more before turning off his computer, making the room pitch black.

His hopeless eyes now seemed to have some life in them, but the words that escaped his mouth were not so pretty. "Today's a perfect day to die!" After saying this he went to go take a shower after and entire month of not washing himself. The feeling of the water against his skin only made his resolve stronger.

Finally stepping outside of his apartment after half a year, his eyes throbbed in pain due to finally being exposed to the sun after a long time. After standing there for a couple of minutes to let his eyes adjust, he looked up at the sky with a bright face.

The boy's appearance was just as strange and unnatural as his obsession with death. Amber eyes, with skin and hair whiter than snow. His body was thin, but there was a fragile type of beauty to it. In fact the boy did not look like a boy at all, with beautiful feminine features and long hair that went a little below the waist, one would think he was a woman!

After gazing at the blue sky for a while, he left the apartment complex and walked through the streets, with his appearance garnering a lot of attention. His smile was so beautiful and captivating that people couldn't help but stare.

He left the busy streets to a more rural part of the city. Abandoned buildings and parking lots were everywhere. The boy went inside the tallest building and climbed up the stairs, after just one floor he already began gasping for air, but his resolve was strong, so he continued up.

Finally after almost half an hour he reached the roof of the building, he fell to his knees in exhaustion and laid on the floor for a while. He got back up after resting for a bit, and walked to the edge of building's roof. No guard rails were installed as construction for this building had stopped right before completion, but this only made his job easier and he stood on the edge of the building whilst looking down at the surrounding buildings.

He was tilting forward a little bit before he paused for a moment to ponder about something. Was he rethinking his decision? Or could it be that he got cold feet once he realized how serious it was to kill one's self?

Absolutely not!

"Maybe I should give a little speech just in case someone's listening?" He said.
