Beta

Beta lifted the now dead servant on his right shoulder. He smiled licking his lips disgustingly.

'It's been a long time since I've last had a good meal' he thought to himself.

Of course in this land of humans vampires don't go roaming about whilst the risk getting caught. Gone where the days where vampires ruled the land as they've long been forgotten due to the advancement in the world of today. Humans no longer believed in such creatures as scientists have proven them to be false.

Though Beta didn't like the changes he was forced to live with it as he owed Alpha his life. He'd remembered the day when Alpha had saved his from being chopped to minces by some bandits who were thirsty for his blood. The day was so vivid in his memory that it seemed like it all just happened yesterday.

It was a dark stormy night. The moon hidden between the dark clouds as the thunder rumbled on and on. A little boy could be seen on the run from whatever chased him in the forest.

He ran, oh he ran but he wasn't fast enough. By the appearance one would think he'll had broken loose because there was no stopping for him. He ran for his dear life cursing his I'll fate. He'd had no other choice but to still from them because he needed something to eat. His parents had died when he was only three years old which left him on the streets as he had nothing. He lived his daily lives begging from people but that didn't do as he didn't really get enough to eat. He looked as thin as a broom which would make one wonder if he suffered from some sort of a terrible disease. With time due to the lack of food, he had resorted to tactics like stealing and has been doing so ever since but cause his I'll fate! If only he knew these were a group of bandits, he won't have attempted taking from them and now, here he was on the run for his life.

He couldn't run anymore as his legs had started to give out and instead decided to hide behind a tree. He hid himself behind an enormous oak tree planting for breath when he heard the voice of the bandits from afar.

"Catch him, he couldn't have gone far, he's nothing but a boy!"

Hearing this, he put both his hands over his mouth to prevent himself from making a sound. He was so damn scared that he started to shiver. He prayed within him that God would be merciful and send the bandits in an opposite direction and as if his prayers were answered, he stopped hearing the footsteps of the bandits. Rejoicing, he came out of hiding ready to walk the lands a free man but little did he know they all stood behind him until he heard one of them say...

"Aren't you smart for a little boy of your age!" A man with a funny look, disheveled red hair and rotten teeth spoke.

Beta shivered upon the sight of this hideous men. He could do nothing but begin to cry pleading to them to spare his life but as expected they took no mercy.

"You deserved to be punished!"another bandit spoke. Saying this, he pulled out a knife from his socks and dashed it across the little boy's face.

Beta screamed in pain, crying profusely. His vision getting slowly blurred by blood until everything became dark and he fell into the realms of darkness.

Abigor who watched the entire scene play out before his eyes decided it was his cue to show up. He'd been in here hunting for food when he picked the scents of humans coming this way. Right then he decided to hide on the bark of a tree awaiting the arrival of his doting prey.

He had seen how they chased the little boy and how he had ran. Abigor smirked in amusement as this who thing was a comedy show to him. He was so marveled at how skilled the little boy was to have hidden himself instead of keeping up the run like any idiot would. Then and there he had decided the little boy would be the perfect one for the job if he eventually survived the cat and mouse chase.

He had watched how the smug looking man had slashed the knife at him and he plunged out, ready to give them some spook.

"I think he's dead." One of the bandits spoke.

"No I think not. This little boy is pretending. He's way to smart for his age and deserves to be taught some proper lesson!" Said the man who had sliced Beta's face.

Of course, the injury was a really deep one which was definitely going to leave a scar behind.
