14 Xie Fang's unyielding spirit I

The sun had long set over the Outer Disciple Courtyard, its orange and pink hues fading into darkness. But Xie Fang remained inside, his body drenched in sweat as he pushed himself to cultivate without rest. He refused to let down his guard, not after witnessing the intense immitted by the Sect's deacons. The only breaks he allowed himself were for sustenance, as his stomach growled in protest. And even then, he kept a keen eye on the door, ready to continue cultivating at a moment's notice. It was a grueling routine, but one that Xie Fang knew he needed to endure in order to reach his goal of becoming a powerful sword cultivator. The brief meal together earlier seemed like a distant memory now, as Xie Fang focused solely on absorbing spiritual Qi and pushing it through his meridian blockage. Time seemed to blur together as he delved deeper into his cultivation, determined to make every second count.

Xie Fang's heart sank as he thought about single elemental spiritual root, a mutated wind attribute. While it was impressive that it was a single elemental spiritual root and wind elemental one no less, it could not compare to the earth grade spiritual roots possessed by the genius disciples of their martial arts sect. With a heavy heart, Xie Fang remembered the first time his spiritual root had awakened on the awakening platform. He couldn't help but feel envious of those with higher grade roots.

As a teenage boy, it was only natural for him to feel envious towards the genius with earth-grade spiritual roots.

However, back then Luo Tian's mood remained unchanged despite having only a mortal grade spiritual root. After all, he had experienced and done far more cruel and despairing things in his life. even though Xie Fang as a martial artist travelled the mortal world, Xie Fang couldn't hold a candle to Luo Tian, the sole heir of a powerful business empire. Their experiences were drastically different: Luo Tian had a vast and diverse life experiences including his previous life, while Xie Fang had only traveled for a few years at most.

In his previous life, Luo Tian was not only a killer of men, but also a master of cruelty. Torture and extracting information were just a few of the many heinous acts he committed without hesitation. He was known to skin his victims alive in order to make them talk, a method learned and perfected through years of experience.

But it wasn't just others that he inflicted pain upon. Being the only son of his old man, being born into the powerful Luo family was not enough for him to inherit their vast business empire, built upon generations of bloodshed and violence. The intense training, he endured from a young age could be better described as torture. Day after day, he practiced with swords, spears, and other cold weapons, honing his skills to perfection. He had to prove himself worthy, to show that he could lead the family forward.

But that was not enough for the Luo family. In order to truly lead their empire forward, Luo Tian had to be proficient in handling heat weapons such as guns, not just one type but a wide range of them. And if that wasn't taxing enough on the mind and body, he also had to practice ancient martial arts, enduring painful methods to toughen his muscles and skin. Even drinking life-threatening poisons was part of his training regimen.

In addition to all of his other challenges, he also had to prove his intellectual ability. There were times when his life was in danger and his strength alone wasn't enough to save him. In these situations, he had to rely on his intelligence in order to survive. One particular instance involved infiltrating a terrorist group. These terrorists weren't your typical firearms-wielding criminals; they were an international organization with advanced weaponry and skilled martial artists among their ranks. Despite his physical prowess, there was no way he could take on such a powerful organization and emerge unscathed. His task from the Luo family was not only to infiltrate, but also to dismantle the group from within. To make matters more urgent, he only had six months to complete this mission. If he failed or was captured, the family would not come to his rescue - instead, they would seek vengeance and bring back his body for a proper burial in the ancestral cemetery.

Despite the hellish nature of his upbringing, it had made Luo Tian a force to be reckoned with. that hellish training molded Luo Tian into a formidable person - not just physically, but mentally as well.

Luo Tian's only weakness was his infatuation with beautiful women. But he kept this flaw carefully hidden and no one knew of it. His experiences had molded him into a person who didn't care about any situation and could think calmly in the face of danger.

Xie Fang, on the other hand, was different. At just 16 years old, he dared to roam the world and become a swordsman. It was an impressive feat already, considering his young age. He had come from a run-down town to the prestigious Profound Sword Palace. Yet, despite all this, he couldn't escape the fact that he was still just a teenager. When he discovered he had only a little talent in immortal cultivation, he became depressed - a natural reaction for most people. But with determination and perseverance, he pulled himself together and realized that even without great talent, he could still achieve something with hard work and passion.

So what if his spiritual root was only mortal grade instead of earth grade? Xie Fang refused to let that hold him back. He would work ten times harder than those blessed with an earth grade spiritual root. He came to the Profound Sword Palace because of his love for swords - it was his passion and driving force. As long as his passion for swords remained, he would continue to walk on the path of a sword cultivator with unwavering determination and dedication.

His future was uncertain, but he refused to let it consume him. With determined steps, he marched forward into the unknown, leaving behind the stagnant place where he once stood.

This mindset had been ingrained in him like an obsession for cultivation. He would do whatever it took to improve himself and his skills.

Despite the dimness of his fortunes, he still held onto a glimmer of hope. At the Myriad Technique Pavilion, he had carefully chosen a cultivation technique that blended swordsmanship and the power of wind, it was perfect for him. And as if that wasn't enough, he also acquired a formidable martial technique, known as "Celestial Ninefold Sword Mastery," living up to its name with nine unique sword moves. Each move was crafted for a specific purpose, whether it be long-range strikes or close combat defense. This versatile martial technique proved useful in many situations, even allowing its users to take on multiple opponents at once.

Xie Fang's cultivation technique, while not the most powerful, seamlessly complemented his chosen martial technique. Despite lacking natural talent, he was determined to fight, strive, and compete for the necessary resources to become a formidable sword cultivator in the future.

However, before he could even begin to learn a martial technique, he had to reach the Qi Gathering Realm. This was the minimum requirement for any cultivator seeking to learn a martial Technique.

For this reason, Xie Fang had spent all of yesterday using his "Zephyr Blade Mastery" cultivation technique. If anyone were to witness him now, they would see the wild flow of spiritual Qi from the wind element coursing through his body.

Despite the physical strain and mental focus required for this level of cultivation, Xie Fang remained unwavering in his determination to progress and achieve greatness in the world of sword cultivation.

He was utilizing the power of wind elemental spiritual Qi, channeling it through his body with the practiced method recorded in "Zephyr Blade Mastery" The energy surged through his pores and raced wildly along his meridians, like a herd of untamed bulls. With each push, he felt the blockage in his meridians loosen ever so slightly. The spiritual Qi burst forth into the heavens and earth, only to be absorbed back into his body as he repeated the process again and again.

For hours he persisted, gathering and directing the powerful energy onto the obstacle within him. The cycle of pushing, scattering, and absorbing continued on endlessly. To Xie Fang, each repetition felt like an eternity. But such was the path of cultivation – a monotonous task that required endless patience and quiet contemplation.

The repetitive routine mirrored the tedium of menial chores, making each hour of cultivation blend seamlessly into the next. But for Xie Fang, this was just another step towards unlocking his true potential.

The truth of the path of immortal cultivation was simple, yet daunting. It required hours of extreme concentration, taxing the mind and causing mental strain. Without this intense focus, the spiritual Qi coursing through a cultivator's body would turn from a valuable medicine to a lethal poison, capable of great harm.

Despite these challenges, there were still many who chose to cultivate without hesitation, drawn in by the promise of greater power, status, and longevity. Xie Fang was among them, driven by the allure of becoming a powerful sword cultivator. He knew the dangers that lay ahead - a treacherous path filled with thorns and monotony - but he continued on because it was his only chance to further empower his sword and fulfill his dream.

Others may have fallen away from this demanding path, but for Xie Fang and those like him, the end goal far outweighed any temporary struggles or sacrifices. The path of immortal cultivation beckoned them forward with its tantalizing promises, despite all its perils. And so, they pressed on towards their ultimate goal, fueled by determination and an unrelenting thirst for power.

If one were to peer inside Xie Fang at this very moment, they would witness the powerful and chaotic flow of wind elemental spiritual Qi coursing through his meridians with the force and tenacity of wild bulls stampeding across an open plain. Despite the immense challenge before him, Xie Fang remained steadfast in his determination.

"Just one more push," Xie Fang muttered to himself, gritting his teeth as he forced another significant whisp of spiritual Qi towards the blockage. The sound of metal being hammered echoed from within his body, a testament to the fierce battle raging within. But as hard as he tried, the final meridian proved to be a formidable obstacle, taunting him with its stubborn resistance. No matter how much spiritual Qi he absorbed and gathered, it seemed to diminish into mere droplets when faced with the daunting task of pushing through the blockage.

Human body has total of 12 principle meridians, namely. Taiyin (太阴): Connects to the Spleen (脾), Shaoyin (少阴): Connects to the Heart (心) and Kidney (肾), Jueyin (厥阴): Connects to the Liver (肝) and Pericardium (心包), Yangming (阳明): Connects to the Large Intestine (大肠) and Stomach (胃), Shaoyang (少阳): Connects to the Gallbladder (胆) and Triple Burner (三焦), Taiyang (太阳): Connects to the Small Intestine (小肠) and Bladder (膀胱), Yangyin (阳阴): Connects to the Lung (肺), Jueyang (厥阳): Connects to the Large Intestine (大肠) and Stomach (胃), Shaoyin (少阴): Connects to the Heart (心) and Kidney (肾), Taiyin (太阴): Connects to the Spleen (脾), Shaoyang (少阳): Connects to the Gallbladder (胆) and Triple Burner (三焦), Taiyang (太阳): Connects to the Small Intestine (小肠) and Bladder (膀胱).

The spiritual Qi, the life force that flows through all beings, must travel along a specific path known as the "Cycle of Twelve Meridians". In order for one to reach the Qi Gathering Realm, one must first unblock these meridians and allow the spiritual Qi to flow unimpeded, strengthening their bodies in the process. However, this alone is not enough. They must also fill their dantian, a focal point for storing and harnessing spiritual energy, with a substantial amount of spiritual Qi. Only when the quantity and quality of this energy reaches a certain level can one achieve a breakthrough to Qi Gathering Realm.

But reaching the dantian is no easy feat. The spiritual Qi must pass through all twelve principal meridians, which act as pathways or channels within the body. If any of these meridians are blocked or restricted, the flow of energy will be disrupted and unable to reach the dantian. That's why cultivators refer to them as "The Twelve Celestial Pathways".

Xie Fang had already successfully unblocked eleven meridians, leaving only "Taiyang" as the final hurdle to overcome in his cultivation journey.

No matter how hard he pushed, the spiritual Qi within him seemed to have little to no effect. But Xie Fang refused to give up. He had already unblocked 11 of his meridians, leaving only the elusive 12th meridian. Opening this final pathway would allow him to cultivate spiritual Qi and become an immortal cultivator.

Despite feeling exhausted, Xie Fang's fighting spirit burned even fiercer. "I can't give up, not after coming this far," he thought determinedly. "I've reached the profound sword palace and unblocked all but one meridian. This last blockage must not stop me from achieving my goal."

Gathering all of his willpower and determination, Xie Fang focused on gathering spiritual Qi within his body once again. This time, he summoned an even greater amount than before - nearly 25% more. Every fiber of his being was dedicated to breaking through the blockage and achieving his goal.

But this was a dangerous practice - a risky and almost reckless way to cultivate. If anyone saw him now, they would surely call him a madman. But to Xie Fang, it was worth it. Nothing could stop him from reaching his ultimate goal as an immortal cultivator.
