1 Chapter 1

"Elvis, I don't think that's a good idea," Audrey glares,

"Love, please just trust me on this? Just this once,"

Audrey rolls her eyes, "What happened the last time you said "Trust me"?"

"Okay, I messed up then. I admit,"

"Good. You're aware of your actions,"

"Mom and dad will love you, please?" Elvis begs, ready to get on his knees if a 'yes' doesn't come out of her mouth,

"What's in it for me?" Audrey stubbornly continues,

"Well," Elvis begins, not knowing the reason behind his question,

"Well?"

"You don't have to hide me in your closet every time your parents come into your room or say I'm just a friend when a family member asks you?" Elvis hesitantly answers, wondering if that's a good enough reason for her to at least consider the question.

Audrey is silent for a while, frowning constantly, memories running through her mind of the nights she was terrified her parents would find her with him.

Audrey sighs and murmurs, "Fine,"

"Yes!" Elvis exclaims and picks Audrey up, running down the hallway of the school, receiving weird looks from students all around him who are digging through their lockers, rushing to get to class before the clock ticks and the bell rings.

Audrey's uncontrollable giggles fill the hallway. She has always liked this side of Elvis. The content and cheerful Elvis. The one that's not embarrassed to express his happiness doing whatever he wants. Elvis has always been a carefree boy, but Audrey's presence makes his happiness go over and beyond. He loves her, her smile, the way she always compliments him, the way she gets very worried when he coughs once, the way her laugh lights up his darkness, the way her eyes sparkle when she's happy, the way her dimples appear on her beautiful milky cheeks when she smiles, her passion for painting, how much she likes watching the sunset from the top of her roof. He appreciates everything about her. He admires her. Since the day he saw her walk into the room, he has endeavored to find a flaw in her, but he has failed whenever he tried. Her exquisiteness and magnificence have concealed every single flaw that existed within her.

Later that day comes for Elvis to take Audrey over to his house. They won't deny that either of them is nervous, but Elvis has decided to suck it up and comfort Audrey instead.

Elvis puts a hand on Audrey's quivering thigh, "Relax. It's going to be okay,"

Audrey looks up with worry written in her eyes.

Elvis smiles, eyes getting smaller the wider he smiles.

Audrey feels an odd comfort.

Thoughts run through her head once again, cluttering her mind, but instead of thoughts of meeting his parents, this time, it's the thought of how cozy she feels around him.

A thought strikes her before Elvis pulls up at his big mansion,

'Maybe it's his eyes, or maybe it's the way he speaks, but whatever it is, I want more.'
