Stars Aligned

To be honest with you, I never got over with that hanging out moment with Destiny, it felt like I'm dreaming, but I was not. I couldn't stop thinking about it in the weekend. Destiny and I were texting each other the whole weekend. And I felt very happy.

When the weekend was over, we got back to school, and this is the first time I saw Destiny smile while walking inside the room. It wasn't the usual Destiny that is gloomy, she is very happy, and it makes me happy too.

On lunchtime, one of our classmates named Theodore, Theo he likes to be called, invited me and Destiny to his birthday party in his house tonight.

"Hey Walter and Destiny! I'm having a birthday party at my house tonight; I would pretty much appreciate it if you came!" Theo said.

"Yeah, sure Theo!" Destiny said.

"Okay, Theo! See you later then?" I responded.

"Alright then. See you two there." Theo replied.

Theo walked away and Destiny and I continued eating our meals.

"Can you fetch me later Wally?" she asked.

"Yeah, sure, I will tell my dad" I replied.

"Great! I lo—" she cut-off.

"Yes?" I asked.

"I meant I love to be coming with you tonight on that party" she responded.

"was she about to say I love you to me?!" I panicked in my head.

"Oh, okay. I love to be coming with you too" I said.

"Great then!" she replied.

Of course, when I got home, I told my parents that I was invited to a birthday party, and dad agreed to drive me and Destiny to Theo's house. When night came, we first drove to Destiny's house and dad and I had this conversation.

"So, Destiny is your best friend, right?" dad asked.

"Yes, dad" I replied.

"By any chance is she your girlfriend?" dad asked again.

"Well… I do kind of have a crush on her, but we're not on that level yet dad" I replied.

"I'm so proud of you son. Look how you've grown up! I guess that brain of yours is a chick magnet" dad teased me.

"Dad! I'm just having a social life here" I laughed.

"Okay, okay son. You said it yourself" dad said.

Then we drove to the Tomkins Residence to fetch Destiny. When she came out of that door, I was stunned with the way she walked. It almost felt like the world stop. It just made me stare at her for a brief second, the way she's dressed for this party is just cool and stunning.

"Good evening Mr. Simmons!" Destiny greeted my dad.

"Good evening to you too Destiny" my dad replied.

She opened the door and sat right next to me at the back seat of the car. And yes, I did sit on the back seat on purpose. Sorry dad. And we drove to Theo's house which was a 15-minute drive from Destiny's house.

"Have fun you two!" my dad shouted.

"Yes dad" I replied.

We went in Theo's house, well, more like a mansion really, and we find a not-so birthday party. There's a lot of dancing like we are in a bar, no drinks though, because we are very underage. The performing band is actually our batch's band, they're called the "Dream-high" band. Those people are very popular, they have a female vocalist, and three dudes playing instruments, the guitar, the bass, the drums. Their first song when we got there was a full-on rock song.

"Shall we dance monsieur?" Destiny asked me.

"wow… so weird… a girl asking me to dance, I should be the one to do that!" I thought to myself.

"Well… okay" I replied to her.

And we were dancing to the music like crazy. And then there goes the next song; a very calm, sweet, love song. It was my chance. Everyone was dancing like we were in prom. I was holding her waist and she wrapped her arms around my neck. And we stared at each other's eyes. There was it. The spark. The moment the stars aligned. Like it was our destiny to be together.

"Destiny…"

"Yes?"

"Ever since I met you, I found the brightest star, and the light of my day" I told her.

"You are the brightest light of my day Wally" she replied.

And there, nothing mattered, like we weren't alone in that room, we had our first kiss.
