9 A Forced Respect, Is Not Respect At All, Your Majesty.

She scoffed arrogantly and proceeded to leave, but Luthiel quickly stood in front of her, preventing her from taking a step further.

"You do not disrespect the crown prince." He declared in a deep, cold voice, and Yennefer glared at him with irritation apparent on her face.

"Step. Out. Of. My. Way." She said with narrowed eyes and Luthiel, who saw her as nothing to him, ignored her, his eyes not even fixed on her.

"Yennefer Bellegard. There is something you must know—" The crown prince's voice abruptly reverberated and he walked to stand in front of her. "— This is the Gavarian Empire, and as its crown prince, you must respect me, whether you like it... or not."

"You are nothing but a mere loser who will probably die soon and rot in the ground along with those you have murdered, so... watch your back."

He smiled mysteriously at her with a sparkling glint in his gray eyes, and with a haughty expression on his face, he walked away.

Luthiel stepped out of the way and together with the escorts, he followed after Wiliam.

Yennefer's hands balled into a tight fists and suddenly pushed by the guards behind her, she began to move towards the royal hall with a grumpy look on her face.

They arrived at the royal hall, and with the announcement of William's arrival made, the royal guards pulled the huge doors open.

At the sight of the crown prince, every guest within the wide hall stood up on their feet and bowed deeply in deep respect.

The dancers halted dancing and bowed as well.

A soft smile appeared on William's face, and with his hands placed behind his back, he walked towards the stairs that led up to the royal throne and went down on one knee in respect.

He bowed down to his father and to his mother, the empress.

He raised his head once they had acknowledged his presence and slightly nodded at his twin sister with a smile on his face.

He proceeded up the stairs and took his seat on the royal chair beside the emperor's throne, then took a deep breath.

Luthiel bowed respectfully to the emperor and empress, and once he bowed to the princess, she beamed widely at him, her cheek flustered in the next moment.

He spared her not another glance and walked up to the throne.

He stood beside William as his royal guard and placed his right hand at his side and the other on the hilt of his sword.

The royal announcer announced Yennefer's presence and, heavily expecting her, everyone turned their heads to the door, including the princess, who had yet to lay her eyes on her.

The door pushed open, and with a haughty expression on her face, Yennefer walked into the hall and glanced around, a look of surprise immediately emerging on her face.

It was just like she read in those medieval books.

Their dressing, as well, was just as described and cosplayed.

For males, shirts with fluffy arms and very tight pants, and for females, pretty wide dresses with different designs and hair adorned beautifully with elegant jewels.

Their faces also were obviously painted to enhance their beauty a bit more.

A soft chuckle exited her mouth as she still couldn't believe it and the emperor, including the guests who seemed to have read her chuckle as a laugh of mockery, immediately gave her hateful glares.

"What?" The smile on her face disappeared immediately, and she moved forward when the guard behind her pushed her.

She arrived before the emperor, and still unable to forget the scene of how he slaughtered those innocent people of the country of Fae, a deep glint of disdain flashed in her eyes.

She stared him dead in the eyes, and the emperor, who couldn't help but applaud her audacity in his heart, smiled dangerously at her.

"Kneel!!" The emperor's royal personal guard, Manov, who had awful scars on his face, ordered, but unwilling to do so, Yennefer glanced at him, a look of arrogance visible on her face.

"Make me." She said, and instantly angered by this, Manov moved, but the emperor immediately raised his hand, ordering him to step back.

"Don't move an inch, Manov." He ordered and glanced at the guard behind Yennefer, who, at his command, heavily kicked Yennefer on the back of her knee, causing her to instantly fall to her knees with a look of grimace on her face.

She immediately turned her head and glared at the guard.

The emperor's sudden historical laugh resounded within the hall, and Yennefer looked at him, slowly controlling her temper.

She is here for a reason and since she is now the owner of this life and body, she needs to think properly and ensure she lives her life to the fullest as she is unsure she will ever be able to return back to the modern era.

Maybe this is where she may find happiness.

A slight smile formed on her face, and she raised her head to look at the emperor.

"Forced respect is not respect at all, your majesty. You will have to earn it." She declared, and everyone in the hall gasped in disbelief, their eyes filled with shock, glancing at each other.

The emperor drew his head back, obviously appalled, and Yennefer smirked at him.

"Earn it?" The emperor asked, and Yennefer shrugged.

"Clearly." She replied, and the emperor burst out into laughter.

"You are quite an interesting girl! I like it!" He chuckled softly and waved his hand, ordering the guard behind Yennefer to step back.

The guard obediently stepped back, and Yennefer stood up on her feet.

She smiled at the emperor, and the emperor gestured for her to have a seat.

"Sit and be entertained." He laughed heartily, and the huge door pushed open, revealing more dancers who hurried into the hall in a coordinated line.

Their clothing, which revealed a few paths of their bodies, swayed as they began to dance in a choreographic manner.

"My empire has the best dancers, and that cannot be debated. I mean, look at them. Aren't they mesmerizing?"

He asked, and Yennefer turned her head to scrutinize the dancers.

They were all clad in matching outfits which consisted of a long red revealing skirt adorned with waist beads, and on their upper body was just a small piece of clothing that managed to cover their busty breasts.

One thing she has come to acknowledge is that the women in this era, for some reason she can't tell, were way prettier than the ones in the modern era from where her soul came from.

A smirk formed on her face, and she watched as the dancers, with their hair that fell down to their waist, swayed their curvy hips, hypnotizing the perverted men within the hall who were getting drunk on their wine.

She shook her head in disdain and as though caught by something, she quickly shifted her gaze to the corner of the hall where the musicians were seated with their legs crossed and their fingers working on the instruments resting on their laps.

Her gaze stopped on this particular young man, whose long white hair flowed down to the floor where he was seated with his legs crossed.

His slender fingers pulled the strings of the Qud that rested on his lap, and with an instant appearance and disappearance of smoke that poofed out of nowhere, the figure of a young lady came into view.

Yennefer quickly shifted her gaze from the young man to the unknown young woman who looked her age.

Her eyes examined her and she found herself almost hypnotized by shock and her beauty.

She looked exactly like the young man playing the Qud.

It was almost as if they were... twins.

Not just that, she had very long, silky white hair that looked exactly like hers, which flowed down to her waist and stopped at her bum.

Her mesmerizing hourglass-shaped body, dressed up in a white long skirt that looked almost like the ones the dancers wore, but a bit more revealing, moved and the beads she wore around her waist shook.

Everyone went still and, with their utmost attention fixed on her, they all went quiet, including the emperor himself.
