Just stay here

Berry laughed loudly after seeing his irritated expression. He wanted to keep talking but some guy he has never let before came to them, to Stuart and shook his hand.

"Mr. Garnett," the man bowed slightly and Stuart stood up to return the greeting. They both talked for a while before walking away still discussing whatever.

"Did that man just drag my partner away like I was never here?" Berry mused dramatically before crossing his hands over his chest angrily.

"You look like you want to kill someone. Who is it?" He turned around in the direction of the voice and saw Amelia and her husband behind him. The one who had just spoken was Rowan, Amelia's husband. He was smiling with a glass of wine raised to his lips.

"It's none of your business!" Berry snapped and began to walk away but he stopped when he felt Amelia's eyes boring holes into his back. "How are you, Rowan?" His tone took a three hundred and sixty degree turn and he smiled at Rowan.

Rowan tried to shuffle his laughter, "I have never been better Berry", he responded with an equally cheerful voice. Berry rolled his eyes and shifted his gaze to Amelia before smiling broadly as if telling her that he had done his job and is asking for permission to leave.

"Don't even think about it, Berry Yates!" Amelia glared at Berry, "You two have to make it up to each other. I can't have my husband and best friend throwing daggers at each other whenever they meet!"

"Then ask your husband to apologise," Berry voiced out and sent Rowan an accusing glare. Two days ago, at a family gathering, Rowan spiked Berry's drink which made Berry embarrass himself before the entire family and their friends. Now anyone who sees him would be reminded of the day when Berry made a fool out of himself.

"I am sorry Berry". Rowan apologised. "It was just something to liven up the party. I didn't expect you to chug down the whole glass".

Hearing this, Berry was even more enraged. "Liven up the party? You could have spiked your drink, why did it have to be mine? Do you think I am a clown?"

Berry looked upset but the couple did not seem to notice it. They exchanged glances and smiled at each other. Berry did look like a clown that day. Both of them even took pictures and made videos, they laughed all night after watching it again and again. Today was no different. At the memory of it, they burst out laughing.

Unfortunately, this was not one of the days when Berry Yates was in a good mood. He eyed them before storming off. Probably to look for Stuart.

"I think I went too far this time". Rowan said as he glanced down at his wife who now wore a sad smile.

"I will ask Aspen to speak to him", Amelia said as she watched Berry's figure move further and further away. "I warned you to stop pranking my best friend like that, now look at him".

"I also warned him to stop calling you his ex-girlfriend but he didn't". Rowan retorted, "It's his fault, not mine!" He said immediately when he felt his wife glare. She also stormed off and he had to run after her while begging for forgiveness. He knew what he was going to lose tonight if she doesn't forgive him.

Berry went in search of Stuart and found him entering the car with the unknown man. He wanted to go after them but Aspen found him just in time.

"Just stay here". He said and held his hand before pulling him inside the hall with him. As always, Berry listened to Aspen but his eyes followed the car till it disappeared completely. "I heard from Amelia. You got into a fight with Rowan again?"

Aspen asked after leading hot of them to a table where they sat down to drink. Berry nodded slowly, "I did nothing this time. Rowan started this". Berry shrugged indifferently.

Aspen sighed loudly. He could not blame Berry this time because Rowan had gone too far. Aspen was not at the gathering but the photos and videos circulated their friend circle. Rowan derives extreme pleasure from pranking Berry and the only thing stopping Berry from acting out of line was Amelia.

"Cheer up already!" Aspen said, "Amelia would punish us and make us suffer for the rest of our lives if we sulk on her wedding".

"Fine. But I don't want to see Rowan anywhere near me or I might just do something bad to him!" Berry started firmly and Aspen tried to hold in his grin.

Rowan was two times Berry's size and the last time they got into a physical fight, Aspen had to intervene else Berry would have been crippled in the hospital.

They both stood up and began to make their way to where they thought Amelia would be but were stopped by Rowan who had a look of urgency on his face and panic in his eyes.

Berry got worried immediately, "where is Amelia?" He asked as he looked behind Rowan, hopefully, to catch a glimpse of Amelia but she wasn't there. That did bit help his situation at all.

However, before he could speak again, he heard Rowan's voice, "I am so sorry Berry! I would never hurt you again!"

Berry was taken aback by the sudden apology and out of instinct, he took a step back. The last time Rowan apologised like this to him, he had pranked him right after. Berry was still shaken by that incident and since then, he would always keep a safe distance from Rowan.

Even Aspen looked surprised, "why are you apologising?" He asked carefully as he stood protectively in front of Berry. He was also aware of Rowan's misbehaviour.

Rowan bent slightly so that they thought he was about to fall to his knees, "Amelia won't let me into the room if you don't forgive me!"

Berry and Aspen burst out laughing with their hands holding their stomachs. Of course, that would be the only reason Rowan would beg.

This was Berry's turn to get revenge but he knew that if he did, Amelia would also be affected. As if to prove him right, Amelia appeared behind Rowan and cupped her hands with pleading eyes.

Berry smirked. He would surely get a chance to get back at Rowan, "Fine. Don't do that again".

"Yes, yes! I promise I won't bother you ever again!" Rowan declared before thanking Berry and turning around to hug his wife.

"Ugh, I'm going home!" Berry said and turned around when they started making out in public.

Someone had to educate these two on how to act in public!
