1 Prologue

Every story has a climax…

————————————

Jui can only stare at Saka as he storms off: flustered and confused.

"Jun, I love you, and I can't bear to be away from you." Were the words Saka had said to Jui.

But...did those words really come from Saka? How could the guy every girl in school wanted, the stud ever guy wanted to be friends with, and the gaming wizard fall for him?! It was almost too absurd to be true, and that's what shocked Jui the most. He felt like he was insignificant…moreover he still wasn't honest with Saka about himself. And yet, as seconds ticked by and he saw Saka walk away, his chest began to hurt. The tears began to fill his eyes, reminding him of his father…the day he left. If only he was stronger back then…if only he had opened his mouth sooner..

"Saka…Saka wait, please!!"

Jui felt his voice crack as the emotions began to overwhelm him. "It wasn't a mistake…everything you've felt, I've felt too…because I love you!"

Jui didn't want to lose him, he didn't want his fears to tear the one person who changed his life…who battled with him throughout the hardship of every waking day to never return. He wanted more than anything for Saka to not let go of him. He wanted Saka to stay. He wanted him to know exactly how he felt…how he had felt since the first day they met. His distress heightened as he let his anxiety roll out from his eyes, trying to hide back his insecurity from the world. But, through his muffled sobs, he heard silence…Saka had stopped.

Through Jui's blurred vision, he could see Saka's figure standing before him, unwavering. Wiping his tears from his eyes, Jui saw Saka's handsome face looking back at him. His expression was less callous.

"Jun…"

It sounded so sweet…so loving, as if he was relieved. He was relieved because he also feared of losing Jui too. It was something neither of them could bare.

"Saka…I…I've loved you since the day we met!!"

A sound, Jui couldn't make out, came from Saka's mouth as he turned his head toward the ground. Yet, Jui could still see the smile etched across his lips, a smile that came to greet him as he laughed. His face was red, his blush ran wild which made Jui's heart beat faster. Was he taking his response as a joke…or—

A thud echoed throughout the corridor.

Saka's bag dropped from his shoulder as he came to embrace Jui. He could smell the wintergreen cigarette that clung to his clothing. It was almost inviting, as he held him and didn't want to let go. Was this…was this what is was like to be loved?!

Jui continued to learn the answer to that question by being by Saka's side…but the only way to understand their bond…their story, is to start at the beginning.
