Must Protect

[Name: Jonathan Burke]

[Bloodline: Unknown]

[Level: 0 – Tier C]

[Physical Power: 0]

[Magical Power: 50]

[Mythical Power: Locked]

[Battle Experience: 0]

[Note: The Host's Bloodline was unknown. Upgrading the Power Tier might help to re-identify the Host's Bloodline]

"I am a human. I don't need to upgrade the power tier to know my bloodline." Jonathan slightly blamed the system in charge.

At this time, with the new information he got... Jonathan was slightly relieved because his body strength was at the same Tier as Leuka.

Although, he didn't know how that could be. The system did not give him any information.

One thing that made Jonathan frown on his forehead again was how he could have magical powers.

The power was even more potent compared to Leuka.

But once again, the power calculation system did not give Jonathan any information about the origin of Jonathan's magical power.

Even so, the system was confident that its calculations were 101% accurate.

Unlike the blood symbiote, the host's power status lacks details about power progression or skills.

And just like before, the system told Jonathan he had to find a way to increase his strength and body level. Clueless.

[Sysmbiosis completed]

[Blood Symbiote Power has been fully granted]

Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump!

Jonathan's heartbeat suddenly accelerated as if something in his body spurred him suddenly.

Slowly he could feel a very violent shaking sensation, like a monstrous earthquake in the darkness.

All he could see was nothing but pitch black.

The billboard-like notifications have disappeared.

Even so, Jonathan still couldn't move his own body. Hovering on his back in the darkness.

Thump! Thump!

Slowly... All the senses in his body regained their function.

The pungent scent of alcohol and the sweet smell of peaches he was familiar with blended together in the air, tickling his nose.

And subsequently, he could hear the cute tiny voice calling out to him.

"Dadda!"

When Jonathan blinked, a dazzling light seemed to burn his eyes from the ceiling.

It took him a few seconds to adapt to that light.

"Dadda!"

A small punch slapped Jonathan in the face.

When he came to his senses, it was Nerissa's doing. The little girl sat on Jonathan's chest, repeatedly smashing her tiny fist into Jonathan's face.

Jonathan groaned, his body aching as if he had just had a heavy accident. But did not give him any wounds.

"Nerisssa?" groaned Jon, trying to move his daughter because now he was struggling to breathe.

However, a hand had already preceded him.

Black Rose appeared with a flat expression on her face.

The woman held Nerissa and stood by Jonathan's side. "How do you feel? Let me have an examination on you for a minute."

A friendly-faced man with a bald head smiled very broadly at Jonathan, who was still lying on a typical hospital machine bed.

"Doctor Graham?" said Jonathan reflexively when he realized the man was a brain specialist he knew very well.

Because of cancer that has grown in his brain since birth, Jonathan grew up with the specialist until now.

Although Doctor Graham was almost retired from his job.

"Great, you still have your memory." Doctor Graham said after examining Jonathan using his favorite black stethoscope.

"The receptionist told me that you came and fainted in the toddler observation room for the immunization procedure. I thought it was because of those abnormal cancer cells," explained Doctor Graham made Jonathan curious.

Jon felt fine even though his body seemed to ache. He could even easily sit down and talk to a doctor he knew.

Doctor Graham smiled once again before gently patting Jonathan on both shoulders.

"Impressive, Jon. The cancer cell is gone. You have recovered. I don't know how you did it, but... I believe that miracles exist." Doctor Graham stunned Jonathan in disbelief.

"No way? No –" Jonathan did find it hard to believe.

However, his mind returned to some impossible things he had just experienced.

All those events made Jonathan feel it was time for him to believe in the power of miracles. Nothing was impossible.

And although it doesn't have any evidence at the moment, Jonathan firmly believes it has a connection with Leuka and her mysterious power.

"Ah – I just found out you're married and have a beautiful daughter, Jon. You're really a man full of surprises. The two of them have been very worried about you. I'd better go and let you talk to them." Doctor Graham looked back at Black Rose, still holding Nerissa, standing on the other side of Jonathan's bed.

"Wait, can you see her?" repeated Jonathan incredulously.

"What does it mean?" Doctor Graham looked confused. "This woman, can you see her too, Doctor?" Jonathan's heart thumped again. He felt that he had just found a friend. Excited.

"Of course. Charming and elegant woman. Let me guess... British lady?" said Doctor Graham, still in his kind voice. Jonathan smiled from ear to ear.

"Thank you very much, Doc."

The two were thinking about two different things.

After Doctor Graham left the temporary observation room, Black Rose looked at Jonathan expressionlessly.

But it managed to make Jonathan feel that she seemed to have many questions in her head.

"I know. I've been thinking about it since I was seven years old. Doctor Graham must be a wizard." Jonathan muttered confidently. Very sure about the theory he made.

"No. He is just an ordinary Morting. I used my power to appear in front of Morting. I can't leave Nerissa alone after you pass out in a room full of raging baby fairies." Explained Black Rose, sounding very upset.

"What?"

Jonathan remembered it now. Very clear. The memory of how he fell unconscious after the babies cried with a sound that made his eardrums almost burst.

The memory that he was – no... Leuka made him kill an innocent baby fairy because of her thirst.

"We'd better go home now before those baby fairies plan to kill you." Black Rose said, flicking Jonathan's blanket violently.

"But... what about Nerissa's mother?" asked Jonathan, remembering his main objective in coming to the hospital.

"I made the woman in the strange dress fall motionless with my magic," said Black Rose, expressionless.

"The woman in a strange dress? You mean a nurse?" asked Jonathan. Suddenly he got terrible feelings.

Black Rose nodded.

"What have you done to her?"

"I'm just performing my duty. Besides, she was the one who started it." Black Rose said, sounding completely unapologetic.

"What have you done?" Jonathan believed that something terrible had just happened during his unconsciousness.

"The woman tried to hurt Nerissa. She used a strangely shaped weapon with a sharp, shiny tip." Black Rose hissed angrily, "I did what I was supposed to do. I must protect Nerissa!"

I try my best to develop the story at the right pace.

Please give this book a chance.

I promise, I'll do my best.

Thank you.
