1 Prologue 1

Well hello there, so you must wondering who I am? Well let me tell you my story, once upon a time, a little girl that… wait a minute!

That only work on fairytale, let's me redo again. Hi, my name is Lisa Yuena, and I'm your typical 21 years old Japanese girl, well except that I work as a professional cosplay. If you're wondering if that's true, then yes you can work as a professional cosplay in Japan, it's kinda like modelling if you ask me.

Well before I became a professional cosplay, I was an idol, and let me tell you, it felt pretty good working as a idol, well except for the long hours choreographed song and dances with the smile that we have to put on. But that was the past so I don't really care about it anymore. I wasn't really good nor bad.

Anyway! I just finished the day and I'm now in my apartment. Looking at the clock on the wall, I see it is now 8pm. I put my keys on the table and open the door with a loud ecstatic shout.

"I'm home!" My cat Shirou saw me and meowed, he's sitting on my gaming chair and watched me unpack my suitcase that held my cosplay outfit, color contact, and makeup.

Now that I have finish unpacking my stuffs, I went into my closet and pondered over the cosplay I would choose when I would be livestreaming. Oh that's right! I forgot to talk about my hobby, I began livestreaming a while ago just for the fun of it.

Okay, that's a lie. In reality I really liked the attention I was getting.

Having people liking my cosplay live was much more enjoyable then to see comments after a magazine that had me cosplay. Plus there were too many other cosplayers, I wouldn't be their focus. Just another girl in a cute outfit, but here I was the center of attention! I was the star!

Something I would never be in magazines and shows.

Anyways, I wonder what character should I cosplay for my live stream? Hmm… I have 20 other cosplay costume but for today I'm thinking of these two. Eula from Genshin Impact and Vladilene from 86.

I pick up Shirou and sit him on my lap. As I sat on my chair, I pondered which of these outfits I would use. After much debate, I went for Vladilene and started to dress myself as her. First, I pull the dress out of my closet and pull out the plastic surrounding it. Wouldn't want any wrinkling on it. Putting on my makeup, after that the silver contact on my eyes, the silver wig and the military uniform. After 30 minutes, I can say it's done and perfect!

I look gorgeous!

Ahem, I meant I look good. Better stay humble or karma will hit me.

After checking the light, camera angle and mic. I saw that everything was ready for the stream.

"Makeup, check! Audio, check! Ok, all good and set."

"Meow!"

"Don't worry Shirou-san, everything will be alright tonight."

I caress him on the back and put him down.

After a long day, it's time to stream. The countdown on her second monitor started.

"3! 2! 1! And…"

*Peoooow*

"Huh?"

Everything on my surrounding started to black. Why is everything dark? Did I get a power outage? What's going on? My fans will be mad if I don't stream on time, I mean I was a bit late last time so I wouldn't have any excuses for this time.

Damn it! This wasn't supposed to happen.

I wave my hand in the dark and found my phone. Opening it with the face recognition, I checked if there's still internet and of course there wasn't. Anyone could have guess that.

Stupid me.

But suddenly I got a strange, strange message. Did I use my data to have internet? I checked and it's seem that wasn't the case. So I read the e-mail and it read.

"Dear candidate,

You are the 1 of 8,047,128,239 that have been chosen to receive this e-mail, tomorrow you will die a painless death and will go to the afterlife. So enjoy your last 4 hours on earth while you still can.

Yours sincerely, YHWH.

P.S: By the way there won't be any power until tomorrow."

Uuhhh… who the f*** is this piece of s***!

A**hole! Don't send spam messages as a form of death threat!

I won't buy your insurance thank you!

Hmph!

Ignoring the message, I sat there and waited, waited and waited. Okay, it seems that there won't be any power tonight, and I got a message from that strange person, this is just great now. He said there won't be any power at my house.

Wait, how did he even know that?

Well if I had to guess, I would say he is probably an a** who thinks cutting the power lines is funny and decided to send everyone the e-mail right before he did it so that we could read it and think he could see the future.

Ha! Figured out your little trick! You won't fool me. But I really didn't have anything to do now, so I do what I always do when there is no electricity in my house. I took a quick bath in the dark even though it's very uncomfortable and cold, but I endured it.

All my makeup all gone...

RIP my money, you will be missed 8000¥ lipstick.

Anyways, I finished taking the bath.

"Phew! That was refreshing. Bathing is the best thing a woman could ask for."

I quickly dry my hair and use my phone in the dark. There I found the thing I was looking for, a face mask and put on my face but it didn't go that well.

"Ah, it's in my eyes! Ouch!"

I'm not really that dexterous.

I quickly peel a little off to move it away. After that I went to my bed and read some manga in the dark, well not exactly I used my phone with the flashlight feature in the dark.

After scrolling through some manga from my bookshelf, I found 1 manga I didn't read in a long time, Yu-Gi-Oh. Sadly, the creator of the card game passed away, Kazuki Takahashi.

I was a fan of Yu-Gi-Oh and I even watched the whole series "Gen 1" when I was a kid. I even played with my friends during high school but I quit because school stuffs more important. I mean playing cards doesn't really give off the best image.

I only recently started to replay because of one Twitch Streamer played this game on Master Duel. And Holy Crap there is so much stuff they added in like XYZ, Pendulum and Link. Personally I think Pendulum was the hardest to learn. Just seeing people play it gave me a headache.

Well I think that a symptom every Yu-Gi-Oh player so at least they get to suffer the same way I do. I have a lot deck that I use nowadays, my most played deck are "Trickstar" "Solfachord" "Traptrix" and "Labrynth".

Speaking of "Labrynth", I heard there's going to be a new support card and it going to be called "Arias the Labrynth Butler". I wonder how people are going to use this new card.

But I didn't dwell on too much and started to read the manga. Speaking of manga, I never actually read the manga. So I started reading it, I didn't actually buy this. A fan actually gave me this when I opened it live for the fan unboxing livestream.

And he gave me the Duelist version which is cannon by the way. To all the super obsessed people, including myself, that needs everything that I read in a series to be cannon or else I won't read, I feel you.

I read it until volume 10 and took a look at the clock. There I saw the time being 22:30pm.

"Oh crap! I need to sleep, I've got a shoot in the morning."

I quickly put the manga on the shelf and put Shirou on his bed before going to sleep and putting on my sleeping mask.

"Goodnight, Shirou!"

He didn't respond and I started to sleep, drifting to slumber.

Tomorrow, I need to make an apology for my viewers.

After all that promising, now they have to wait for even longer.

Welp, problem for future me. Goodluck with that!

It's been a week since Lisa's apartment hasn't been open, her bedroom light was still on all the time. A neighbor found it strange and came to her apartment. Since they had always greeted each other every morning, the neighbor found this behavior odd.

"Hey Lisa, it's me, Shin. Are you there?"

There was no response on the otherside.

'What's going? The light has been on for the entire week. Did she go on a trip and forgot to close the light in her house?'

Shin searched his pocket and took out a spare key. He inserted it, twisting the key and with a click. The apartment had been unlocked and he opened the door.

"I'm coming in, Lisa." He said before he entered the doorway.

What he saw was just darkness with no light except for the bedroom. Taking off his shoes, he put them to the side and walked in. He slowly approached and opened the door. When he entered the bedroom, he saw Lisa still sleeping with the cat near her.

"Umm… Lisa are you ok?"

There was no answer.

He was confused and walked up to her.

"Hey Lisa, you've got work to-"

Shin froze as he saw her face. It looked frail, devoid of life and malnourished.

He budged her shoulder and felt the coldness of her body. He started to feel crept out and touched her neck to check a pulse.

His body uncontrollably shook as he found what had happened.

There was no pulse.

He immediately took out his phone and called the emergency number.

"199, what is your emergency?"

He explained everything about what just happened to them and they dispatched an ambulance to her apartment.

But all that effort was for not, and on the day of 31st July 2023. Lisa Yuena, died of heart failure. Her death caused a shock on the cosplay community of Japan. She had thousand of fan who grieved her lost.

Her parents were in denial of the loss of their daughter.

May she rest in piece... is what everyone is thinking unless you were God of who she challenged.
