3. Final Boss

Jack was hurrying through the halls of the cave as the clock counted down. His heart pounded and his lungs were burning.

"This doesn't feel like a game anymore. I expected there to be some feeling, but this is just like reality there is no difference."

He began to worry about making out of the dungeon and if there was more to this game than he originally thought.

Eventually he reached a giant door. It had intricate carvings that peeked out form underneath the heavy moss growing on top of it. Although he assumed the door would be heavy passes on his outward appearance he was wrong.

The door creaked open even though Jack found no hinges. Inside was a room about twice as big as the ones he fought the slime in.

"Creepy." The previous cold air that he had gotten used was no more now there was a flood of chilly air blasting past him.

The room at first glance was completely dark, Jack then realized that there had been no light inside the cave yet he could see, something that should be physically impossible for humans.

In a blink of his eye about 2 dozen torches, lining the oval shaped room, burnt bright blue allowing Jack to the danger that he would be facing.

In the middle of the room was about a hundred small blue slimes, but before he even had the chance to attack the slimes started to fuse together. Their bodies and cores all combined to make a slime about 10 times bigger than the pinks slime he encountered.

With some muttering under his breath he steeled his resolve and didn't fail to notice that the core was about the same size as the pink slime giving him adequate surface area for him to hit, the only problem with that would be the fact that his spear barely would reach far enough in to hit the core.

The giant slime, which he assumed was the boss, moved slow compared to the other slimes but knowing the damage that the pink slime had done he knew he had to be on his toes.

The boss slime crept towards him and Jack was waiting for it to make a move before he did. Out of no where the slime started to bounce up and down hitting the ceiling and then the ground shaking the whole entire room, but before he could even try to attack the slime rocks started to fall from the ceiling.

Not hesitating he ran back to the other side of the room where the reverberations had effected the rock the least. His ingenious strategy as the giant slime did a total 180 and chased after him. Now he knew that dodging the rocks were going to have to come last as the only way to deescalate the situation was to stop the boss from slamming into the top of the room.

He dashed towards the boss with all his speed dodging the occasional rock and when he made he was able to cut off a chunk of its slime which did not regrow. Knowing that it was basically a glorified pink slime he pushed off again, now the slime stopped and waited for the attack. When Jack stabbed into it directly at the core, all he felt was more slime. It wasn't that he missed where the core was, the core moved.

"Nothing comes easy, huh." Jack would have let out a deep sigh if he wasn't already trying to keep him breath in rhythm.

Though he knew the core could now move he didn't hesitate to think of combo's he could perform to force the core into a spot in which he could hit, but first he would focus on removing some of its slime.

[Remaining Time: 5 Minutes]

The pop-up started to make him panic and he rushed in to cleave off some of the slimes body only to be met with a charge from the slime sending him flying and tumbling around.

His clothes were now destroyed and skin was filled with scrapes which the adrenaline had stopped him from feeling.

"The pain is so real."

Once he was able to get up he forced himself to dash at the slime again, this time making sure to watch its movements in preparation of its attacks. After a few more attacks that removed more of its slime he finally decided that it was time to finish his battle.

He stabbed towards the center of the giant mass of slime and just before he entered the slime he brought the spear up and slashed down and right. This was enough to throw off the core which had moved to the left, but before it could do anything Jack dexterously brought the spear back to his side and slashed horizontally cutting the core in half.

The rocks that had been falling almost immediately came to a stop. Jack fell to the ground as the slime started to disappear but not before leaving a blue chestplate in its place. Jack went over to pick it up. It was just like a simple medieval chestplate that one would slide their head and arms in to. It was a lot lighter than he thought it would be and wondered if it would even be capable of protecting him. Finally, the reward notification appeared, but before he could look at it the copper piece he had in his pocket shined a radiant light and Jack passed out.
