Cursed forest?!

Chirp charp churp

Claud woke up to the melody of the birds. He grumbled as he rubbed his eyes in a drugged matter.

„Urgh. Where am I? What happened?"

Claud thought as he straightened himself up and sat on the soft grass. He looked like a dog without its owner, completely lost.

As he looked around, he saw trees around him that reached the clouds in the sky. The sunlight was barely visible under these giants because of that, the whole forest had a dark and creepy energy around it.

Claud was sitting in the middle of an open space in the forest, making the sun light shining directly onto him, heating him up.

Claud wanted to clean his face of sweat and saliva but was met with piercing pain coming from a sunburn on his forehead.

„Get covered!!"

His inner self screamed at him, making him slowly stand up and walk to one of the massive trees, hiding in its shadow.

His mind calmed down as his headache disappeared bit by bit. He remembered what happened before his sleep and where he is.

„I should be in the cursed forest, if what the guard said is right. What do I do? What is my goal?"

Claud thought to himself. He didn't has a goal in his entire life and was only following orders.

„What am I doing here? Stealing a identity, a life, from somebody else. Fighting against crimes I didn't committee. I must look like a clown to the gods.

He thought in a depressive matter. But as he wanted to decide what his next move was, he was interrupted by a sound a foot would make on dry leafs.

Claud wasn't dumb enough to wait for what was going to come out of the bushes and made a run for it. He tan into the open, to get a better overview over the foreign creature and his surroundings.

When he reached the middle, he heard a loud crashing nose and turned around.

„Wha- is th-at? Hogww could som-ting like this ex-xcist?"

Where the words he stuttered as he turned around and saw a giant black mandrill, holding what looked like a lion-sized hyena in his right hand.

Claud silently looked at the gruesome scene infront of him. The hyena, that tried eating him a second ago, was ripped in two by a giant 10 meter mandrill with four arms.

The mandrill climbed up the tree, Claud was resting on, with the cadaver of the hyena and began eating it, as he reached a branch he could sit on, crushing his bones, flesh and organs with its mouth.

While all that was happening, Claud could only look terrified at the creature, that could begin the apocalypse. Sweat formed on his body, making his mud covered clothes stick to his body, his heartbeat fastened every second, threaten to jump out of his chest.

He slowly walked backwards, keeping the monkey in his vision.

Crunsh

An loud crunch, that echoed through the forest, was created when the skull of the poor victim was crushed. Frightening Claud, making him fall on his butt, creating a soft, almost inaudible, sound.

The mandrill stopped chewing the brain of his prey, slowly turning his head towards Claud, staring at him. Claud looked at the beast with wet eyes, scared like a child in the dark. Blood dripping slowly from its mouth as it keeps staring at Claud.

Claud looked it in its eyes before lowering his eyes to the face of the hyena that was laying in the mouth of the mandrill. Its face was sticking to the teeth of the predator, making its lifeless eyes staring at Claud as he switched the hyena with him.

He couldn't move a finger while one sentence was repeating in his mind.

„Do not move! Do not move! Do not move! Do not move! Do not move! Do not move! Do not move!"

The eye contact between the two was interrupted by a loud roar coming from the north, right behind Claud. The roar startled Claud but he kept looking at the mandrill in front of him.

The mandrill, on the opposite, looked behind Claud as if scanning for something, before giving Claud one more stare and turning around.

As the predator left the scene, Claud fell on his back, looking like he ran a marathon, and wiped his sweat, ghat accumulated on his face, with his white shirt.

„Now I know that I am not gonna survive in this forest. Thanks for the cheat, Origi!!"

He said in an slightly angry tone. As to respond Claud, the loud roar echoed again, making Claud leave the open area and moving west, away from the big predator and bigger predator.

As he turned around and looked at the open space he spawned, he said thankfully.

„Thank you for this great opportunity, Origi"

He turned west before adding in an angry but quiet matter.

„And for the awesome gift you gifted me!"
