•Chapter Seven-Lunatic

"Hokage-sama, I've come to give my report."

Kakashi entered the Hokage's office.

Upon his arrival he spotted the massive and humongous stacks of paper work surrounding the aged man from all sides.

"Ah, Kakashi. How is your new team?"

Hiruzen was truly curious. He had just gotten an earful from Iruka telling him to pick a different team leader because of Kakashi's high failure rate, but little did he know, even if Kakashi wanted to fail his team… he couldn't.

'Haha.'

"They're a little rough around the edges," Kakashi smiled. "But nothing a little training can't fix."

Hiruzen relaxed back into his chair. He grabbed his pipe and put it to his mouth as he smoked, trying to rid of himself from the stress that came from the mantle known as Hokage.

"Wonderful. Anything else?"

"That kid that I told you about-"

Hiruzen interrupted Kakashi. "Yes. Muhon Hannya… correct?"

Kakashi nodded.

A couple of days ago he informed the Hokage of the peculiarity coming in the form of Muhon Hannya. His skill in Taijutsu and Kenjutsu was unmatched from those his age.

Just from the strength and speed he was able to perform at put him a cut above even those who were many years older. It was not the type of strength and speed one could train to attain at that age.

It was simply monstrous.

Not to mention Muhon's battle sense that was simply out of this world. Kakashi saw flashes of himself in the boy. And that was enough for him to know that Muhon was an undiscovered gem.

From Kakashi's report and spying of the boy, Hiruzen also felt the same. If what he heard was true, then cultivating him as a future shinobi of the leaf took priority.

Which is why he had recruited a very special person for that role.

However, even with all of the that information from Kakashi, Hiruzen still had his doubt.

Muhon Hannya was a civilian. His entire families generation were all civilians. Yet, suddenly a talented shinobi arose from that family?

"Kakashi, this situation is fishy. I've conducted a background check and he was diagnosed with heart complications until just about two to three months ago."

Hiruzen paused and Kakashi recognized his will to continue pouring his thoughts out with his next words.

"And from then up until graduation, he's improved by leaps and bounds according to Iruka. It's not as if he was hiding his strength. Those medical procedures he underwent were not forged."

Kakashi considered this as well. No matter what angle he looked at it from, it wasn't possible for someone to improve so fast and change dramatically in a span of two months.

"Is it possible it's some type of new drug?"

Hiruzen shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know. Frankly I've thought about calling the boy into my office and having a Yamanaka clan shinobi inspect him in the case he was an enemy spy… I will sit back and watch for now, then act when it's appropriate."

'If he's truly that talented, then I will have to keep him away from Danzo at all costs.'-Hiruzen added.

"May I ask who you've designated as Muhon's Sensei?"

Hiruzen grinned. Kakashi felt a chill dart up his neck and reflexively gulped. It seemed lord third was up to no good again.

"It's a man you and I know all too well. You studied under him for a few years before he eventually retired."

Kakashi's visible eye widened, "Don't tell me…"

"Hehe…"

-

"Come on! Move faster you idiots!"

The heat warmed the skin of the three genin evading numerous amount of Kunai and Shuriken for their lives. Their sensei threw the Kunai and Shuriken anticipating where they would dodge to, making it so they had to change directions at the last second.

On top of that, they were weighed down by vests, wrist, and ankle weights. For Muhon, more so than the others as Yamamoto gave him an exceptionally heavier set.

"Oh. Careful guys, the next one has an exploding tag on it!"

Yamamoto stood on a tree branch smiling as he threw another Kunai. It zipped through the air and landed in between the three.

He laughed at their pale faces as they scrambled away from it.

"Just kidding! Hey, if you leave the area I've marked you're in for a lot worse! Yes, I'm talking to you bug kid!"

Shin yelped and stepped back from the marked red line. His limbs shook from head to toe and he could hardly move. But he HAD to move.

His sensei had made it clear to everyone that whether they got hit with a Kunai or not, he didn't care. Rather, it was as if he wanted to hit and injure them.

Sayaka called him a lunatic. She already didn't like him from the get-go but as time passed in this sweltering heat and the screeching of his loud voice, she hated him even more.

As for Muhon, under the extreme weight his frame nearly toppled from, he had no time to hurl complaints at Yamamoto.

He was focused on his survival.

- fwip!

- fwip!

- fwip!

'Shit! That one has a tag.'

- Boom!

The three students jumped to the side right in time. Through the residue of the explosion, more Kunai and Shuriken were hurled at them.

'He won't let me rest for even a moment!'

Muhon smiled. This kind of training was oddly… fun.

"Okay, let's talk about chakra everyone."

Yamamoto spoke between the Kunai and Shuriken he threw. Occasionally he would add in a fireball Jutsu to spice it up.

"By the way. Anyone who fails to summarize what I've just said, I'm going to hurtle a couple of fireballs at your face."

Yamamoto went on his passionate tangent about chakra and continued on for what felt like an eternity. Muhon honed in closely, although it was quite difficult from him and the others to do so.

The weights on his body were so heavy when he shifted directions, the ground underneath his feet would crack apart.

[AGI + 180]

[STR + 180]

[END + 180]

[VIT + 180]

[COM + 180]

'Just in time.'

Muhon let go a sigh of relief. The weights on his body became the slightest bit lighter and his movements free of extra stiffness.

Yamamoto observed this.

- clap!

"Sayaka! Paraphrase what I've just said."

Sayaka's eyes were half open as she resisted the urge to fall over. "Chakra is necessary to use Jutsu. Genetics usually determine the amount of chakra a person can have, and since most people don't have a monstrous amount, it's important that control over it is improved."

"Muhon! What else?"

Yamamoto turned his attention onto the scarlet-eyed boy.

"Chakra is created from physical and mental energy. Physical energy can be increased through training and exercises; while mental energy is increased through studying, meditation, or the more experience you build up as a ninja."

"Good job. Shin! It looks like you've been spared… for now. Let's continue on about chakra… but before that, do you understand why you will never be able to compare to Tsunade, Miss Nara?"

Muhon could've swore he saw a frown quickly covered up by a smile from the lack of response from Sayaka.

This process continued on for an hour more. Yamamoto went into depth about chakra, the chakra pathway system and tenketsu. He also briefly explained the ranks of shinobi and the type of missions specific ranks could take.

To Muhon and the others, it was just a repeat of information they had already learned about.

Yamamoto announced training was over and the three students instantly collapsed. Blood trickled down from the places Kunai and shuriken sliced them. Burn marks were visible on their legs and to a lesser extent their arms.

Finally, they were exhausted. For nearly three hours they worried about whether they would live or die. Not only their physical, but mental energy took a hit.

"You guys are dismissed for today. Oh, make sure to stop by the hospital first. Tell them I sent you and they'll fix you guys right up."

Yamamoto leaped down from the tree. He figured he had tormented his team for one day.

'These guys are too quiet, they are no fun,' he thought.

He expected insults and threats to corner him at all sides during this training session. But the most he received were a couple of glares.

He truly wanted an excuse to burn his students alive during this session.

"Well, everyone is dismissed except for Muhon."

'Damn. Maybe I should try my hand at a different occupation after all. Do all shinobi train this hard?'

"Oh. And don't don't take off those weights."

'Damn.'

After his teammates left, Muhon was alone with his sensei on the field. He was given a generous ten minute break from his sensei whilst he explained what they would do next.

"So, Muhon, I know people like you have a crippling weakness to Genjutsu."

Yamamoto tied a blindfold over Muhons eyes and performed a seal making it so light couldn't seep in.

"This is exercise serves three purposes. One is so that you can become attuned to the rest of your senses, so that you can recognize when you are caught inside a Genjutsu."

"Two is so that if you ever encounter a shinobi with powerful ocular abilities, you still have a way to combat them without looking into their eyes."

"And finally three, I need a stress reliever. So take these beatings for me will you?"

- bam!

Yamamoto sent Muhon colliding into a thick trunk behind him. The latter gasped for air, feeling every single drop leave his bodily system.

- Cough!

- Cough!

Muhon's senses were on high alert, but he couldn't even hear the blows arrival. He held his abdomen and wriggled around in pain with groans escaping his lips.

"You know, as my favorite student by far I'm making sure you get the best treatment. So be thankful. This type of training will only nourish your growth."

"Y-you're crazy…"

- Cough!

"That's the spirit!"
