Chapter 5

'Sigh, what am I going to do with that mother of mine? Previously, if I never recovered my memories, perhaps I would think of it as nothing but a mother's love for me. But now, I'm conflicted by it. Sigh, well, for now, I'll just take the future as long as nothing bad...happened?'

He became confused about whether it was good or bad since he's a healthy young who read healthy 'good manga' in his previous life.

'Recalling it back now, didn't I run away because I couldn't endure any longer her overprotective side towards me when I told her I wanted to be a hunter? In other words, I became fed up with her eyes that say 'I need protection since I didn't hold skills nor affinities with elements'

He sighed and scratched his head at his behavior. he couldn't blame anyone since technically Daniel is still 15 years old in this body. So he might be childish sometimes but now, with his memories and mind, it would no longer be the same.

Daniel had no one on Earth, no one to communicate no one to be loved or loved with.

Loneliness was all he had, at the same time, it accompanied him well. Because of this, he couldn't properly form strong bonds with others as he's used to being alone.

However, knowing that he had someone whom he cared for and cared for, he could no longer think of such childish thoughts avoiding her.

He kept running away and rejecting her love just because he was the Lightning Tyrant Son, and now, his heart pained at how much he truly yearned for his mother's affection.

'I guess...it's time for me to return...' He couldn't hold the urge to return, and so, he lay down on the grass for quite some time before standing up and making his way towards home.

While he journeyed his way back home, there were huge differences between the city structure and those of Earth.

The cities were made from materials that have durable resistance against the energy that flowed through, allowing the creation of holograms.

The source of energy came and was harvested by either a Monster Core or Spiritual Stone which can be found in minerals stored within Dungeons.

Every electrical appliance or vehicle was powered by this said energy source. Even a digital phone is powered up by a white spiritual stone that can last for a year without charging.

With all of these disparities, he became amazed and in awe by the creations of this world despite being familiar with them.

Still, the ones that took his breath away were those food vendors and street foods where they sold foods filled with nutrients from monster meats.

Never would he imagine the smell of monster meat could be so aromatic. Though he had tasted them countless offers, Daniel still couldn't help but drool over how delicious they were.

The scent tickled his nose and rumbled up his stomach, thus, with no choice, he bought some skewers of meat with whatever money he had in his pockets.

Walking and observing the bustling and lively city, again reminded me that he has transmigrated, no, reincarnated into another new world.

But a peaceful walk couldn't last more than half an hour. Due to the infamous son of the Lightning Tyrant, he was immediately recognized as the passerby...and it didn't stop them from making remarks.

"Oioi, isn't that the son of the Lightning Queen? What's that failure doing here?" A stranger pointed at him to his friend.

"Ah, now that you pointed it out, he indeed resembled that infamous son. Well, it seems like having no system has given him too much time in wandering around instead of being in school" His friend crossed his arms and mocked.

On the other hand, a group of middle-aged women was currently insulting Daniel with all sorts of gossip.

"Hey, haven't you heard about him?"

"Him? The boy? What was his name again?" She said sarcastically.

"No idea, but didn't you hear the news of the boy quitting the academy?"

"Sigh, what an embarrassment to his mother. Even though my son has a low-ranked system, he managed to reach the top 50 ranked in the school in terms of combat" Another one showed a proud look.

*Chuckled*

"But, have you heard about the rumors when he quit the academy?"

"Well what is it"

"He said he quit school because he wished to be a hunter"

A moment of silence echoed before all of them laughed without holding back their stomachs.

"What? Are you serious?"

"He wants to be a hunter when he has yet to graduate from the academy"

"And yet, he has the cheeks to say he wants to be a hunter when he doesn't even have any system at all"

"Is this some kind of joke? Cuz if it was, it deserves an award"

They laughed and laughed without knowing that the others nearby were laughing together with them.

Of course, being at the center of the attention, he heard every sound of laughter coming from all around the circles.

It was as though he was facing an illusion where thousands of eyes and mouths were staring at him and laughing out loud as though trying to pull him down in despair.

If this was the previous, perhaps, he may succumb to it. However, this time he was different!

As human and powerless as he is right now, there's no way he'd fall to such low remarks. Rather than being laughed out, he felt they were noisy and disturbing to the public.

Without looking back, he scraped away the illusion with his hands and began walking to his destination of home with a positive mind.

'This will be the first day of my new chance in rewriting my path and there'll be nothing to stop me' He echoed this sentence into his mind as a form of encouragement with eyes that shines with determination.
