Sick

"You don't really have to work so much if you know you're sick." Waylen said and Jasmine wondered how that concerned him, but there was one thing she needed to correct.

"I am not sick, I'm just not feeling comfortable." She said frowning at his choice of words and Waylen raised a brow at her,

"What's the difference?"

"The vocabulary."

"Oh, so are you comfortable sitting like that?" He asked, looking at her. She was leaning on the chair and her back was pushed forward, he didn't see it as comfortable, but she nodded. "It doesn't seem like it to me." He said eyeing her again.

"It's comfortable for me."

"Ohh."

Jasmine's ring tone went off and when she looked at it, she found it was Anthony. But it was still so early to finish the urgent matter her father wanted to discuss with him.

"What's the matter?"

"He said it might have been a mistake, he didn't want to see me."

Jasmine frowned. "Dad does not make that kind of mistake." She said to him, she knew that part of Ray very well.

"The man is aging, Ma'am." Anthony said and Jasmine bit her inner lip. That might be true, things happen with age. "Where are you right now?" He asked and Jasmine realized she didn't know, her mind had gone blank, so she just told him,

"No need, someone was 'kind'," she almost rolled her eyes thinking of Dylan, "enough to drive me."

Anthony stopped in his tracks, surprised. Normally, she would never have agreed for something like this, she preferred being her own woman and doing her own things, it must have been so bad that she had to succumb to her nerves.

"Should I buy you any drugs?" He asked badly hoping for the answer to be 'yes', but Jasmine always disappointed when it came to deal with strength.

"I'm not sick, I don't need anything." She said with a little more force than normal, she heard Anthony sighing before the call ended.

Waylen clamped his lips shut and focused on driving when he saw Jasmine's temper seemed to have been out of control for a minute, looks like she hated being seen as weak, but when she coughed again, he noticed her anger was bad for her at the moment. He searched his mind desperately for what to say.

"Uh, do you go Shopping?"

She turned to face him, wondering what the question was about. "What?" She asked as she put a hand to her forehead and rubbed slightly.

"What else am I supposed to mean?"

Jasmine was kind of impressed at how freely he talked to her, sometimes she just didn't like being addressed so formally, but she didn't feel like telling them to stop, it often led to something else, like last time... She turned away from Waylen as her eyes darkened.

"Well..." He prodded when he didn't get an answer.

"Not yet." She bit her inner lip as she said it, Waylen was making her look so spoiled.

"Would you like to go with me one day?" She blinked at him when he said it, was he being serious? He was about to tell her it was a joke when she shrugged.

"If your Devilish Boss will let you, that's fine with me."

Waylen laughed nervously at the end of her word. "I was just joking."

"And I was being serious." Their eyes met, as she looked on at him with some kind of intensity her words bore, he was awe-struck at the beauty of it, it looked like a mixture of colours... It was gone before he could fathom which it was.

"What was that?" He asked pointing at her eyes, but she just shrugged and kept her silence. He dropped his hand and looked ahead. "Isn't it weird that you own one of the biggest Malls and you have never gone shopping?" It truly surprised him. He thought shopping was girl's number 1 priority, but this one had never gone. Girls never ceased to surprise him. But wait, girls had another priority, thinking of that, he turned to her again. "Do you have a boyfriend?" Jasmine choked on her saliva, it was not serious, but her eyes turned a bit red, Waylen just smiled at her reaction. As she coughed into her elbow and looked up at him with her red eyes, she looked downright adorable. "I take that as a no." He gave a light-hearted chuckle at the end. When she cleared her throat, he stopped and bought a bottle of water. "Here." He gestured her to take it. He saw her hesitate. He had already been of much here to her, she didn't want to be more than the burden she already was. "The coffee offer still stands." He reminded her opening the cover and feeling convinced, she took it from him.

He took a left as they headed out of the place he was familiar with, she gave him directions from there.

"You know what?" She sounded exhausted. "Use the map." She pointed to the center of the dashboard.

He tapped it and a keyboard appeared. "What should I type?" He asked confused. Should he use just Jasmine or Jasmine Reign or Jasmine's residence or...

"Anything with a J ending with an E." She stopped his wild guess with something totally different.

J with an E?

Sounds like something a child would name, but, he stole a quick glance at her, she was still a child anyway, just different from the normal ones.

"Your real house?" Normally, people like her, rich and famous, did not often disclose their real houses.

"You have to sign a non-disclosure agreement before you get there."

"Wow! I thought we were already friends."

"My family has never been there talk more of you. And I don't have friends." The air turned cool after that last statement, but it was only for sometime.

"You don't have to say that. Who knows? Maybe I'll be your friend." He said with a cheeky smile and her eyes danced.

"Yeah, just maybe."
