1 Chapter 1: The beginning
The 23-year-old girl enjoyed her day off writing some poem on her bed before her phone rang and little did she know that this peace was going to do down the hill when she answeres the phone
-2 minutes later-
"WHAT?!? What do you mean all the folders are being erased?!?!?"
"We don't know either the computer has malfunctioned all of a sudden, and all the folders inside it are being erased and most of them are vital ones"
"Then why isn't there a copy of them if they are so important!!!!"
"W-well we...."
"Forget it call a computer repair technician and I will be on my way"
"Yes Miss Faucette"
Right after the call was over Alexandra jumped off her bed that caused her pencil and notebook to fall to the ground
Today suppose to be her day off but just her luck, all of this happened.
As soon as she got ready she opened her bedroom door and saw her father reading a newspaper and stepmother knitting in the living room
"Good morning dad, Good morning Martha"
"Good morning sweetie. Why are you dressed you're suppose to be resting today" said Martha
"There has been an emergency so I really have to go" Alexa responded
"Before you go eat something "said George with a worried voice
"I really don't have time dad"
"Then eat this apple on your way" said George handing her a green apple
Not wanting to worry her father she took the apple and ate with a lighting speed
"CAREFUL YOU'LL CHOKE"
"Ok, ok" chuckled Alex
"I said eat it on the way not- nevermind"
"hehe Bye Martha bye dad"
"Bye sweetheart "said both George and Martha at the same time and with that Alexandra left the house. She had to take the taxi to get there quick
(usually, she went by feet)
-time skip-
[ The trading company]
"Good morning Jay"
"Good morning Miss Faucette" said the receptionist
"Is Mr. Wolcott here yet?" asked Alex
"No, he isn't " responded Jay
"Good, thanks Jay"
"Your welcome"
After that Alex walked up to the security checkup machine and gave her ID card to it
when it accepted her card it allowed her to walk in, and afterward, she walked to the elevator but she saw her boss's son as he also was, giving his ID card to security check-up as he looked up, they made eye contact.... she quickly stepped inside the elevator when it opened and pressed the close bottom as quickly as possible on purpose she really didn't want to deal with him
"Hey wait" shouted Thomas Wolcott running wanting to get in the elevator too since it was already here and didn't have to wait for a couple of minutes because he was already late even if it meant sharing it with her
but when he reached there the elevator was almost closed and saw Alex making
'I am sorry' face (which was absolutely fake) and the elevator closed fully
"Oh come on" cursed Thomas
It was obvious to everyone that they don't get along at all' they argue every chance they get

When Alexa reached her desk an employee came up to her and said
"Good morning Miss Alexandra" said Robert
He was the person who informed her about the whole computer malfunctioning thing that happened on the phone and he was holding said computer
"Until all the folders aren't saved and made a copy of my morning won't be any good" Alexa said a little frustrated
"Sorry again I really don't know what happened my self I called the computer repair technician should be on his way"
"Good and it's ok but next time make a copy of anything that is important and when they are fixed send them to me I want to make sure they are all saved"
"I will"
"Good "
then Robert walked away
"Good morning girls" Alexa greeted her co-workers.
"Good morning Alexa" said Adrienne and Eliza.
"I am sorry " Adrienne said.
"For what?"
"About the folders, today was suppose to be your day off "
"It's ok it's not anyone's fault, the computer just malfunctioned it happens to me too that's why I have a copy of everything "
"Still you should've been resting I can see your eye bags from afar" Eliza said.
"Again it's ok I was writing some poems in bed out of boredom"
"Greetings ladies" said a male's voice
The girls turned to the voice and saw Thomas Wolcott
"Good morning sir" the women said, apart from Alexandra.
Eventually, Alex replied with a voice that was like she was compelled to do it.
"Good morning Mr. Wolcott"
Thomas just hummed and headed to his office. Alexa turned and saw her friends/co-workers giving her a look she didn't like. it was like they were teasing her about something she doesn't know about
"What? ….what are you waiting for go back to work" said Alexa to the two girls in front of her.
"Ok ok" they answered giggling.

Adrienne is Alexa's helper and she is in charge of
[Back at Alexandra's house]
"dear I will be going to work" said George.
"Have a good day of work" Martha said.
George nodded and started walking, and Martha said, " Oh and don't be late for dinner "
"Okay honey" George answered, and continued to walk around 10-15 feet and stopping to join a small bakery. It was his workplace,
Yes, he is working in a small bakery right next to their house

"This is very disappointing. What is all this? We're lending you all this money yet you used it to buy land and put it on sale with an 80 % discount without telling us, and now you're sitting here and requesting your rights on the money we promised to share?
What you have done is not acceptable in any way," Thomas said with an angry tone.
"Sir we did not know that the price of the dollars has lowered" said a worker from another company who had been partners for years.
"I don't get it if the price of a dollar has lowered, it will be everywhere for everyone"As the other person tried to say something he was cut off by Peter Wolcott, "Everyone this meeting is over although we didn't really do anything but it's ok. Tomorrow you all can come back and we will check the calculations again" said Peter Wolcott with a tired voice
Alexandra was seated next to him looking at him with a concerned look (lately the boss was really tired and a little down) then Peter got up walking out of the meeting room and Alexa followed him as the other people did the same except for Thomas who was stayed in the room looking down at the desk and feeling like he did something wrong but couldn't put his fingers on it
"Between me and you. I'm so bored and tired of all these meetings like what they're for?, today was a meeting about what we're going to meet about tomorrow. Meetings after meetings I swear I didn't understand anything I swear to God. Come on, say something," Peter said to Alexandra,
"You are completely right sir" Alex answered.
"Say do you think it's best if I retire?" Peter asked.
Alex's eyes widened and quickly said, "No, sir how could you even think like that"
Peter smiled at her and before he entered his office he told Alexa to not let anyone in his office because he can't deal with anything right now and entered his office as Alex turned to walk to her desk she saw non-other than Thomas walking to the boss's office but she quickly stopped him "Where are you going?" asked Alex fully knowing the answer
"I have to see my father...I mean the boss" Thomas said, clearly irritated.
"Sorry you can't, the boss is very tired so he needs rest, if you want to see him I could arrange a meeting for you" said Alexa
"A meeting?" Thomas asked in a frustrated voice.
"Yes, a meeting... Well it looks like the boss is very busy today but you can meet him tomorrow at noon" Alex said while checking the boss's schedule.
"Miss Faucette, you are messing with me right?" Thomas said irritatedly.
"No, if I was messing with you I would be laughing. Am I laughing?" Alexandra said with a serious tone
"No" Thomas replied,
"Miss Faucette this....thing you're doing is only proving that you don't care about your work at all"
"Pardon me I don't care about my work?!"
"Yes, a secretary's job is to answer phone calls and-"
"First of all, I am his associate I aid him with his work. Second of all, I care about my work highly. And third of all, you are sort of new around here so you don't know the rules around here completely" said Alexa, cutting off Thomas.
"Whatever, you know what I am gonna do the first thing when I take my father's place a become the CEO?" Thomas said with an amused face and answered his own question, "I am gonna fire you"
Alexandra chuckled a little and said, "Very well when the day comes, then we will think of something . ... Well if the isn't anything else then I should get back to work" and walked away before Thomas could say anything else.
Alexandra's POV
Does He think he is the king of the world ?!
Thomas's POV
Wow I can't see my father before I have permission from her
-Time skip -
[In Peter Wolcott's office]
"Well, folks today we have a surprise guest...." Peter was watching his fiance on the TV, but then he heard a knock on the door.
"Come in"
"Sir do you have a minute?"
"Yes of course come in Alexandra"
"How do you feel about your sudden success....." the TV was going on.
"I brought you a birthday cake sir"
"Oh my... Miss Faucette you didn't have to tire yourself I am an old fella now, these things don't suit me anymore"
"Well, sir I have a different opinion I believe it suits every age" Alexandra said positively.
"To be truthful I have one wish....." Peter said, staring at his lover on TV, "... but I don't think it will ever turn into reality" Peter added with a saddened tone.
"Is Mrs. Adam still upset with you?"
"Yeah and I really don't know what to do I mean I tried a lot of other stuff to make her accept my apology
"Then why don't you distance yourself from her a little "
Peter shot her a confusing glance
"Act like you lost interest " Alexa added.
"Are you sure that will work?" questioned Peter.
"I am certain sir after all The one who walks away will be followed"
Alex guessed being a couple's therapy for her friends does come in handy
"Can I tell you something...you are a GENIUS "
"Thank you, sir "
"Oh My brainless son if he marries a girl like you I will be overjoyed but what can I do. I mean he is a smart person but when he came back from France after all these years and immediately work here it surprised him he doesn't how to work efficiently here yet, and he picks fights with everyone for no reason but he is a good guy why don't you give it some time?"
"Uhm I um.."
"Trust me it will be worth it "
"If it's fate please god erase it" Alex mumbles
"I am sorry I didn't hear you"
"Uh happy birthday again," said Alex, and he began walking to the door.
"Wait a minute if I am not mistaken someone in your family's birthday is near mine that's how you remember mine right?" Peter said joking.
"You are correct sir my father's birthday is in a couple of days later but I know your birthday regardless " after that she and stepped out of the room and began working on her desk.
-Time skip-
[The main entrance of the company]
As Alexa and her boss were about to walk out of the building they heard a voice
"Sir do you have a minute?"
"Son work time is over you can call me dad"
"But we are still in the company anyways I wanted to discuss something about today's meeting "
"Sure son, what is it"
Peter and Alexa were waiting for Thomas to begin, but there was only a moment of silence
"Without your secretary around "
"Alright then we could discuss it on the way and maybe have dinner together "
Thomas thought about it for a moment
"......Sorry but I still have some paperwork to do maybe another time," said Thomas when he said that he noticed Alexandra giving him a disappointing look that left him confused.
"Well don't stay too late" Peter went to his car while the driver was waiting for him.
"What?" Thomas asked.
"Today is your father's birthday " Alexa answered, and then walked away.
And the realization hit Thomas like a truck, but he was irritated at the same time that Alexa was entering into his family business.
Little does he know that Alexandra is like a therapy for his father and asks her for advice, etc…
