TABITHA was grateful that Empress Liane helped her get away from the annoying– er, unfriendly noble ladies at the party earlier.

She had been married to Hendrix for seventeen years already.

And yet, the women that led the social circle of the empire were still mean to her for being a noble from the countryside. But she knew why most noble ladies didn't like her. After all, she rarely socialized with them.

[In my defense, I'd rather stay at home and play with my daughter instead of listening to them talk about me and how I'm "inferior" to the noble ladies in the capital.]
