12. Her Birthday

So now after that date we then settled down and then afterwards I gave her a gift in which while we were separated I bought and hid while she is not noticing. I then said to her, "Maria, Happy Birthday. I just couldn't think of what to buy for you. But at least accept this." 'I hope she liked what I bought for her ever since I knew what she always wanted. A cute necklace of her favorite animal which is a kitten.' I thought as I've always wanted to buy her one ever since we would always get these type of opportunities.

After that she thank me and said, "Thanks George. This is the first cute gift you gave me. Ever since you would always give me some expensive jewelry which I couldn't wear always in my past birthdays." She then invited me and said she wanted to celebrate with me as we walked home even though she had drivers to pick her up And plus her house is near by so why not. After that we entered the gates in which a maid was expecting the two of us.

"Princess Maria. Welcome home. We never expected you to come home early." She was shocked as we entered through the door and found out that awaiting inside is the guests and relatives of the royal family and there I saw my two parents and her parents talking. As always we would visit here for about every year when one of the royal family members celebrate his/her birthday and they could talk like forever until they are tired and go home when it is a bit late.

So now here we are at her birthday party which is a bit more fancier than last year and this year we have her friends with their parents over and celebrating with all of us part of the royal family and plus trying to talk about school and stuff. And I think that they are all girls and I am the only boy who didn't had any friends with him and plus makes the girls think that I as a boy am listening to them like a total weirdo. But in order for me to escape this I should think of a strategy first.

After that I tried to find even a boy or a group of boys my age who are part of the royal family and also has a high position in the royal family. So I looked around and found one of our classmate who was at that party and I walked towards him and said, "Hi there. Mark Anthon right?" He then replied, "You must be George. It's a pleasure meeting you here." After that I asked him, "What are you doing here at her party?"

After that he replied, "I thought you heard me in the classroom known as one of the cousins of Maria and also apart of the royal family. I think we've met before." If I remembered correctly I think he was used to be smaller than Maria and also he is the shortest of the cousins. But now he is more like a man than a child and plus his attitude is more manly than that of the cousins now.

Well some of Maria's cousins are taller than him when we were too young and I would often hang out with him whenever we visit Maria and her parents. But in that stature I think I couldn't recognize him now and I almost mistaken him for someone else. But now that we are in high school I think he is one of the popular kids in our first year and like me and the other popular kids he is also treated with respect as one of the cousins of the royal family.

So ever since he was one of my childhood friends since we were younger we eventually became friends in high schools and could always hang out when I have free time and do stuff as friends could do. But he is more talented than me and could always beat me when he can but as friends in school he would always let me take some of the glory even though it was his right. I think the reason is for me to show Maria that I am strong and humble in many ways for her to fall for me.

But I think he doesn't have ill intentions against me and plus I think I should strive for myself and shouldn't always rely on him for my romantic lust against Maria. So I myself tried to strive and build myself up to become the best man that even Maria could ever have. But I should learn from Mark of course so that I could become more cool as my last request to him for the sake of his reputation and play fair as his friend.
