11 Your turn

Click.

The door closed as the thugs left the shop.

'Oh… it seems I should leave as well. Bye bye' The girl also left the shop.

'How did you get that injury?' Misty asked as soon as they were the only ones left in the room.

'It is required in order to use my powers.' Hira replied to her honestly.

Misty suddenly remembered, a few days ago when the bandits suddenly came and became 'friends' with Hira, he also had an injury in his hands, but that mark was much lighter than what he had right now.

She immediately ran towards a cupboard and took out a vial.

'Drink it.' She spoke.

'I don't think I should. We are already short on…' Hira wanted to refused but was cut short by Misty.

'Drink it.' She would not hear a no for an answer.

'O… Okay' Hira said as he took the energy… wait….

'It's a vitality potion, Misty… this is too expensive. I think an energy potion will do just as…'

'I said drink it, Hira' Misty commanded.

'fine' Hira opened the vial and gulped down the potion.

He felt a giddiness in his palm as he could feel his pain slowly fading away.

'Why would you do something like that?' Misty asked.

'It's much easier to solve problems this way' Hira answered.

'Do you always need to get hurt if you want to use your powers?' She asked.

'Well not always… actually sometimes… it feels very good.' He said as he looked away.

Misty did not understand what he was trying to say, but she had a feeling that it was not something innocent.

'Sigh… anyway… is it necessary to do this?' Misty asked.

'Yes…' He gave her a short reply.

The next evening.

'Click'

'Hello lady boss… Is Hira here?'

'What do you want?' Misty who was already angry with what happened the day before, was not in the mood to have some nice chat with the thugs.

'Oh… no… it's just we got supplies for the shop.' Barn said as he put the bag he was holding on the desk and opened it.

'This… This… where did you get this from?' Misty was shocked beyond words.

'Oh… it's from a person you might know about' Hira's voice came from behind her.

He smiled at her and then looked at Barn.

'So, how did it go?' he asked.

'It went smoothly'

Yes… the bag that Barn had bought was filled with potions. And not just any ordinary potions, they were all high-quality potions, and quite a few vitality potions as well.

'Who is this "someone"' Misty who could not contain herself asked, 'and why would someone give you such expensive potions?'

'Don't worry Misty… we are going to be rich soon, that's all that matters.' Hira assured her.

Carl's butler had a strong physique but he was not as strong as Barn. And given he was the butler of a rich businessman, he never feared meeting with the thugs alone.

That's when the plan went to motion.

The thugs, beat him up and made him drink the water that was mixed with Hira's blood that he had given them before the meeting.

After that… the thugs left with the Butler and made as many of Carl's employees drink the potions as they could.

Unfortunately, the meeting was held in the late evening, with only a few employees left in the shop, the thugs were able to make each of them drink Hira's blood. But that also resulted in wasting of many vials of his blood-water liquid as there were only a few employees left.

Or so Hira thought.

'We used the left-over vials on the people we found on the streets.' Barn said.

'What?' Hira was astonished.

He told them to target the employees, but he had not said anything about civilians.

'It was an idea from an employee in the shop, she said that drinking the potion does not hurt, so even if normal people drank it, it would only be good for us but not bad for them' Barn said.

'That… makes sense' Hira could not believe it; his plan was not as complex as this.

In fact, he gave them with extra vials expecting some of them to go to waste, but to think that an employee would be able to think one step ahead of him as well.

'They don't become some mindless puppets, it's just that they use their brains to help me. I am starting to love this ability' Hira thought to himself.

[…]

'Alright then… we are done for today. Make sure to come early in the morning tomorrow.'

'Of course.' Barn said as he left the shop.

'So… would you mind telling me what is going on here?' Misty finally got the chance to ask him about this absurdity.

'Oh… didn't I tell you… I will solve all your problems. See, I am working hard now. Now you remember what you had promised right?' Hira reminded her of both their promises.

'Ye… Yes… I remember.' But…

'But what…, are you going back on your words now?' Hira asked her mischievously.

'N…no… I mean… you got… got the supplies… so… the… the problem is solved now.' Her voice became inaudible by the end of the sentence.

'What…?' Hira was startled.

'You… I… forget it' Misty started backing away.

'Oh no… dear Misty, I can't. Actually, how could I be so stupid. You are so right…, I kept my promise…and now… it's your turn.'
