Yes, I'm in the [Penalty Zone]. Well was, I just exited it.

It has been days since I was out on a mission and all I've done is work on my modules and assignments from school.

Can you imagine that? Me? Doing school work? I had better things to do!

*SIGH*

I need a shower. My body is all icky and sticky due to sweat, seawater and sand.

While in the shower, I can't help but think about the last few days. Well, a lot of things did happen. First off, I'm now a first year high school student of White Lotus Academy. I seriously think a lot of things are wrong regarding my admission in it but hey, it's already there so I guess I'll just roll with it.

Second, is my increasing workload regarding on being a candidate to be Hell's next ruler. I've been meeting a lot of demon leaders since the end of summer and I've been trying to wrap my head around it. To be honest, I have a lot of doubts on this one. It's just kind of forced on me but I'm doing it anyway. I'm starting to think I'm some sort of a pushover or something. But Ferigo believes that I should give it a shot since I have the blood of the Xenos Family within me, the rightful rulers of Hell.

Third, getting stronger. My ability (I suppose) only gets stronger whenever I gain points from the [Slayer System], which means, I can only level up if I slay monsters. It's called [Slayer System] for a reason. Without going on missions, I'm kind of stumped on this one. It's the reason I've been frequenting the [Penalty Zone] these days, to gain points. But Slayer has warned me that once I reach a certain level, I can never use the [Penalty Zone] as a place I could do farming.

I need to face real monsters in the real world soon.

And last but not the least, Clara Jaeger. Yeah, she's an entire problem on her own. She's not part of the supernatural but she lives in Plum Blossom Mansion. We all have to walk on eggshells around her so she won't find out. If one looks over the fact that she's a reaper for Sceptre, a mafia organization, she's a completely sweet child. She helps out with the household chores, she spars with Nik in hand-to-hand combat, she hangs out with Sylvia and Shizu to have some girl talk since they're just almost the same age, and a lot more. Even Noir plays with her when he's not with me or whenever he's not out hunting.

I once asked Sakura-nee why she insisted on keeping Clara here when she's a big threat, not just to us but to the entirety of Kyoto. After days of observation, it's obvious now that she's trying to run away from her employers. And if Sceptre really is an organization that's always out for blood, it's a bad thing for us and can spell doom for Dawn Union.

"She obviously needs help and I'm giving it to her. You have to understand April that sometimes you have to extend a helping hand on someone without expecting something in return." she said the first time I asked her.

I smell bull.

For the time I know Sakura-nee, I'm pretty sure she won't do something without getting something in return from it. I just don't know what she's after.

Well, as long as things are relatively peaceful then I have no qualms with it, I suppose.

I sit under the tree in the mansion's backyard. It's still a bit dark outside, but I can already see the first rays of the sun for today. I just finished my bath, but since it's already about five in the morning (and I'm an early bird), I did not return to sleep and just wait for the sun to fully rise.

I'll take this time to look at my rewards before I get busy for the day.

I can't help but smile as I look at the semi-transparent message box in front of me.

Nice. I won't have a problem with hand to hand combat now, with or without the support of my <Energy Manipulation>.

That reminds me, I need to get used to the energy I manipulate so I can move even lot more efficiently and so my blows will be a lot stronger. A few days ago, I found a way to integrate the energy I manipulate in combat. Basically, I'm good with fights even without using weapons.

I can probably do something more regarding energy. I mean it is energy, I just need more imagination.

Now then, let's proceed to my skill list.

Hmm… I wonder what kind of skills I should add in the list. I mean, I need something useful for my future fights.

I'm already set with fighting barehanded or something rather than having an exclusive weapon, so I guess skills regarding that are out the window.

Hmm…

But using <Create Skill> to make a skill that covers my hand to hand combat capabilities should be good.

I wonder what kind of weaponless combat skill I should learn. I need to research on that one.

Next should be a pair of skills I've always wanted to have after watching this one anime and reading this one novel in the internet.

Slayer, create skills; <Reflection Magic> <Amplify> and <Consume>.

I can't help but beam as I see the newly added skills in my Skill List.

<Reflection Magic> is basically what it means; it reflects magic to its caster or to anyone I want. It's a powerful offense-defense skill. Although it's useful, it does have a few limits; I can only reflect magic or any forms of energy thrown at me. I need to level up so I can also reflect physical attacks or the damage if any attack I receive.

Will be a work in progress.

<Amplify> basically amplifies any skill that I have. It's not like <Super Growth> since that one basically lets my stats and skill levels level up at a fast pace, <Amplify> enhances a skill or technique being used.

<Consume> enables me to consume the energy of any attack thrown at me, may they be magical or physical. I can basically suck the power behind the attack. I know it feels like it's redundant since I already have <Energy Manipulation> but it's actually quite different. <Energy Manipulation> enables me to manipulate energy in any form and use it to my will, meanwhile <Consume> lets me eat or suck energy and either store it inside my body to enhance my body's functions or spit it back out to where it come from.

The three combined is a very powerful technique.
