5 4. First Vampire Hunt.
"Are you ready?" Sakagi asked Kirei as they were currently going to investigate a vampire sighting.
"Yes." Kirei said as he looked at the black keys in his hands.
He had given orders for a few custom made Black Keys which he could use for his missions. He had given specifications so he hoped that they will make it as he wants.
After that was done he took a few Black Keys along with two pistols with him as he is now with Sakagi to investigate a village. They heard that a few of the villagers were starting to disappear so they have been sent to investigate it. But thankfully since it was one at a time it doesn't seem that it's a powerful vampire which is the reason why he was sent with the man.
He looked at the guns and made sure that it's bullets are full. He then pocketed then in his coat before he stroked the Black Keys as he thought about his mission. They reached the village in another half an hour and exited the vehicle. Kirei observed that the village has a gloomy air to it as he grabbed the six Black Keys and hid it inside his coat before grabbing a black suitcase.
Sakagi also brought out two suitcases as the two then made their way to the village. A few people saw them and came out of their houses to meet with them. They have hope in their eyes as they made their way to them.
"Oh praise, you came!" An elderly man, whom the two Executors thought to be the mayor, said to them.
"We have been sent from the Church. You told that there have been cases of disappearance?" Sakagi asked the man.
"Yes. I'm the mayor of this village. Please come to my house. I will explain it to you." The mayor said to him.
Compared to in the future when the Church hardly operates like this currently during the 20th Century the Church do these kinds of missions. After the two made it to the Mayor's house. Kirei gained curious looks from the people as he is a 10 year old child who has come with a man of the Church.
The mayor told them the details about the case. People have started to disappear since two weeks ago. At first they thought they will come back but if was apparent they won't when another person disappeared followed by another. Like this in two weeks 9 people have disappeared from the village.
They had asked help from the police force but they didn't find anything which prompted them to ask the Church for help.
"Please help us." The mayor asked them as he bowed his head to them.
"Do not worry. We will get to the bottom of this." Sakagi said to the mayor with a smile.
"Thank you." The mayor bowed to him.
"We will start working immediately. Could you give us a place to stay for the time being?" Sakagi asked him.
"Of course, please follow me." The Mayor said as he got up.
The both of them were then guided to a house as they made themselves comfortable there. After that the two looked at eachother before taking out their weapons. Kirei checked his pistols and Black Keys before opening the suitcase. Inside it were a dozen more Black Keys and extra bullets.
Sakagi opened one of his suitcases which contains Stakes, Crosses, Bullets for his machine gun. Prayers and things related to the Church have an effect on Vampires so it is quite easy for them to kill them, if the circumstances are right.
After that they left the village and set up a perimeter as they started to survey the village. They looked around for clues before meeting up and gave their insights about it.
"The last person had went missing 2 days ago. As such the vampire might come here." Sakagi said to Kirei who nodded to him.
After that they bided their time as they waited. Night fell as they watched the village. Kirei used his magic sense but instead of making a field as felt the Earth. Due to the Earth already having mana he couldn't be that easily detected. It was a technique he had developed to detect magi without them learning about him.
As they waited they didn't find anything but then Kirei felt a presence outside the village making its way to the village. He took a side glance at his superior and saw him looking at the direction with his binoculars. The Church has various resources so it wasn't that hard to get it.
"He might be our target." Sakagi said as he looked at the man.
Said man has pale skin and red eyes, the marks of a Vampire along with black hair. But he looked to be a walking corpse rather than a powerful vampire.
"It looks like its a low ranking Vampire, a ghoul. That's good. It won't be much dangerous." Sakagi said to Kirei.
"So shall we hunt him?" Kirei asked him.
"Yes. You go around from the right, I'll go from the left. We'll do a pincer attack." Sakagi said to him.
Kirei nodded to him before he followed his instructions as he silently made his way to the left of the vampire. But then he stopped abruptly as his body froze. The reason? He felt a presence right behind him which caused his body to go rigid.
"A young fledgling Executor. I wonder how your blood tastes." The male behind him, who is no doubt a Vampire, said with glee.
Kirei was then grabbed and turned around before he could react in a speed he was barely able to see as he came face to face with the vampire. Said Vampire has pale skin, red eyes along with brown hair and quite the human face which shows emotion.
'A fully fledged Vampire? A nightkin? They are said to be as strong as an Executor!?' Kirei thought to himself as he became frustrated.
Kirei immediately grabbed the guns in his coat as he brought it out. The vampire just restricted his hands without batting an eye with a speed as he kept on looking at the boy. Not caring the slightest about the guns.
"Those types of weapon's won't work on me boy." The vampire said with a smirk as he licked his lips, ready to bite into the flesh of the boy.
"Are you sure about that?" Kirei asked with a smile.
At his question the vampire raised an eyebrow before looking at the boys hands and he was surprised at what he saw. In his hands were the two pistols but instead of being pointed to the front both of them were pointing straight at his chest due to how he held them with his thumbs on the triggers.
The vampire didn't have time to move due to the surprise before Kirei pulled the triggers and shot bullets into the Vampire's body. The sound alerted the ghoul and Sakagi who at hearing the guns going off immediately ran at the ghoul to kill it and make his way to Kirei. While the villagers were huddled in their houses.
"Gaah! Brat!" The vampire screamed in pain as 12 bullets inscribed with prayers were loaded into his body as smoke came out of the wounds as he let go of him in pain.
But Kirei threw his guns into the air causing the vampire to look at it to make sure it didn't do anything. At that time Kirei pulled out a grenade and pulled the pin before throwing it in front of the vampire who looked at it as Kirei closed his eyes.
*Bang*
The grenade then burst in bright light, showing that it's a flash grenade as it assaulted the vampires eye's with bright light.
"Aaah! My eyes!" The vampire screamed in pain at the unexpected attack as he wasn't able to see.
*Stab Stab Stab Stab Stab Stab*
Then he felt six spikes of sorts stab into his chest as he felt searing pain course through his body as he kneeled on the ground. He opened his eyes as it recovered and found his chest to be stabbed by six Stakes. Smoke was coming from his body as he felt extreme pain from both the bullets and now the stakes. Them being embedded into his body causing continuous pain as his healing wasn't able to take that much effect.
He looked at Kirei with a glare and was met with the sight of him in front of him with three pairs of Black Keys in each hand. He tried to move but the earlier assault had weakened his body which was more than what Kirei needed to stab his head and chest with the Key's.
"Aaaaaahhhhh!" The Vampire screamed as his eyes were also stabbed along with his lungs and heart.
Kirei smirked at his misery as he jumped back, opened the suitcase and took out the dozen Black Keys before throwing them at the Vampire as it impaled on his as he screamed. He was now impaled with 16 Black Keys, which are Sacraments themselves, and embedded with 12 bullets inscribed with prayers. Combined, they are very painful and torturous for a being like him.
Kirei smiled at the misery that he has inflicted on the man.
"If I'm going to feel happiness from the suffering of others, then I'll gain happiness by giving suffering to those that deserve it." Kirei said to himself as he loaded the guns with more bullets before he unloaded everything on the Vampire's head.
The Vampire screamed in pain as his entire being was permeated with pain as he was unable to do anything. He had wanted to gain more power and become an Ancestor, the dream of every Dead Apostle, yet now he was unable to do anything as he was at the mercy of Kirei.
Kirei watched as the Vampire screamed some more before his voice went silent before his body went limp as fell back and turned into dust that fell on the ground. Kirei let out a breath and kneeled on the ground as he knew that the only reason he was able to defeat the vampire was because he underestimated him and he was able to catch him off guard.
Sakagi came not a moment later with his weapon ready but was greeted with the sight of Kirei on the ground with a dust a few paces in front of him which had alot of Black Keys and Bullets over it. Sakagi stared in disbelief as he looked at the young Executor.
"I think it was a nightkin since he was able to talk and seemed to have emotions." Kirei said to him which surprised the man more.
'He managed to kill a nightkin who is said to be as strong as an Executor of the Church for his first mission! And at such a young age!' Sakagi thought to himself in shock.
This event would mark Kirei as the youngest Executor ever to kill a Vampire, a nightkin on the same level as an Executor which causes him to rise in fame in the Church and become something akin of a legend among the people.
