3 Meet Olivia, The Girl Who Pesters Me

Time passed on as it always does, and eventually, I grew up to be 9 years old. Life was great, I loved my mother, I adored my auntie, and I even learned a bit about my father.

Apparently, my dad was a sorcerer, and if you're concerned about what a sorcerer is, then I'll explain: sorcerers are people who could use skills, and they only exist in Atlantis City. It's kinda confusing since I thought sorcerers were meant for people who only use magic. But nope, not in this world. You were only known as a sorcerer if you have the use of skills.

My mother said that I resembled my dad a lot, with my short brown hair, blue eyes, and the two dimples I get whenever I smile.

Sadly my father died in a war caused between humans and demons. Oh yeah, speaking of demons, I didn't mention the other races that existed here in this world, have I? Well for starters we have humans which is what I am, then we have spirits, beasts, Demi-humans, and machines. Of course, we also have hybrids, since other races mated with each other to create one, so that's a given.

Demons and humans always hated each other in this world, and they also look the same in terms of appearance. You can easily mistake a demon for a human.

But besides that, my father was known as the strongest commoner who's ever joined Atlantis City, and he even gained the respect of most nobles who are egotistical, and filled with pride. He must've been a great man, but, sadly, I don't get a father figure even in this world, just my luck right? The father in my previous world died, and so did mine in this world as well... luck must hate me.

But moving on from my new family's backstory, I have something on my mind that I wanna talk about. Do you remember what I said about the races in this world? Humans, beasts, spirits, all that crap, well... this place also has a god as well.

Shocking? Not really.

I learned something from my mother as she taught me about this world and who the religious figure is.

This is a lot to explain, so bear with me; Gods are beings that exist across the multiverse of endless worlds. Each world has a god that rules over said world, and they keep the world balanced with authority, which means laws. Laws of physics, laws of causality, laws of relativity, laws of the universe, etc.

Without a god ruling over a universe, that universe would inevitably perish from its laws ceasing to exist. It sounded scary, but that also means that my previous universe had a god as well, which was cool to know.

The god in this world is known as Ferdows, a beautiful woman with keen features, non-toxic religion, and a killer body. The pictures I saw of her would make any man fall in love at first glance, and to be honest with you... I was madly in love with her as well. I bet she gets a lot of men to fall for her beauty though, so I knew I had no chance if I ever meet her in person.

Though that's normal for a kid, and teenager right? It's similar to falling in love with something through a TV screen such as Albedo from Overlord, and different Jojo characters, that's how It felt with Ferdows. She was something I loved, but couldn't have. (Yes I watched anime, that's normal in Japan.)

Anyways, I was sitting on a large rock kept in the middle of an open field of grass. Currently, I was reading this world's 'Bible' which is called 'The Epic Tale of Ferdows'.

It was a good read, and I normally would walk this far by myself to have alone time. The other kids didn't bother me much, and they left me to myself... except one girl;

Every time I walk outside to the field which was located north side of Mediocre village, this one girl always bothers me. I don't know if she likes me, hates me, or just wanna be friends, but it's starting to make me question it each day.

Out in this field, it's full of kids every day, and sometimes we celebrate birthday parties here, it was like our playground, and it'll never get old.

["Hey, you're by yourself again Godfrey, what's the matter, are you scared to come to play with us since it's mostly all girls today?"]

There she was, the girl I was talking about. Currently, she was towering over me, blocking the sunlight from my book. Her short red hair dangled down with her hands on her hips as her crimson eyes stared into my soul.

["What do you want this time around, Olivia?"]

That's her name, Olivia.

["I want you to stop being so anti-social! You know, my mom always told me that anti-social kids will never make it in life from being afraid to talk to people, and that goes for you since you're so enclosed in your little world."]

I sighed as I closed my book, placing it on the ground next to me, and slowly looked up at her face with an expressionless glare.

["Really? If your mom knows so much about anti-social people, she must be one herself."]

Olivia pointed her finger directly between my eyes.

["That is not true! My mom is a great woman who talks to plenty of people, she's sociable as heck!]

I shrugged my shoulders.

["I seriously doubt it. Usually, the type of people who always assumes the worst for another is someone who has the same problems, or is just an asshole for no reason."]

Olivia's eyes widened as she stepped back.

["You said the A-hole word, you can't say that, you'll get in trouble."]

Oh right, I forgot I was almost 9.

["Sorry... it slipped out..."]

["Also my mom isn't a butt-hole, and she's not anti-social, she's just very wise."]

I crossed my arms, closing my eyes with a sigh.

["Olivia, if I was anti-social, I wouldn't be having a conversation with you, I would likely be shy, and not know how to continue a convo. I'm the most sociable kid here that you can meet."]

Olivia grunted at me, tapping her foot on the ground a few times.

["Rrghhh... hmph!"]

She growled at me before turning around, and squawking.

["Then come play with us and stop sitting here every single day! You have all the time in the world to read a book about our god, Ferdows. We are still kids, there's no need to start worrying about religion and all that stuff."]

Wow, for some reason she sounded wise. She must've been raised well by her mother. I know she likely doesn't have a father from the war that happened 10 years ago with humans and demons, and the men being drafted into the battlefield to protect their country.

It's sad, no matter where you go, no matter what world you enter, there will always be conflict amongst people until it causes a war.

I learned a lot from The Great Tale of Ferdows. The words she gave to her followers were: "Enjoy life, for it is a sandglass flipped over the moment you're born."

I wasn't enjoying life too much, I was always sticking to myself through all these years, so maybe making a few friends wouldn't hurt.

["Alright fine..."]

I stood up from the large rock embedded into the ground, placing my hands inside my pockets.

["I'll join then."]

Olivia turned around with a bewildered expression, unable to muster words.

["Y-You- huh???"]

["I said I'll join?"]

She looked at me cluelessly while a small blemish of red appeared on her cheeks. She straightened her body out, standing up in pride whilst puffing out her chest, and placing her hands on her hips.

["Umu! Leave it to Olivia to get Godfrey up from his ass!"]

I widened my eyes before recklessly blinking at her, repeatedly. She didn't realize what she said until she looked at my expression;

["I-I didn't mean to say that! Wait, that's not fair! You said it which made me think saying it is okay! I-I mean— okay wait, don't tell my mom!"]

I cracked up, starting to laugh at her worried tone of voice, and panicked movements.

["Pffft, bahahaha! I'm not gonna tell anyone, it's not like cussing will bring bad luck upon you, Olivia. Cmon, let's go play, that's what you wanted out of me, right?"]

Olivia crossed her arm, puffing her cheek while she pouted.

["Nnn. I didn't mean to say that word, I'm a good kid, and I don't want Santa Claus bringing me coal for Christmas! I always get good gifts, so if I don't get them this time around, I'll blame you for that, Godfrey!"]

I shrugged with a smug look on my face.

["Oh well, you can't rewind time."]

She stomped forward and chased after me.

["Shut up! Shut up, shut up, shut up!"]

I sprinted away, laughing at her rage, and made my way down the field to the other kids. She chased after me, but I was faster.
