1 Prologue: Rejection notice.

"I'm sorry, but we just can't be together!"-His childhood friend, Marie, exclaimed in a soft, yet heartless voice. Her golden eyes do not seem to be staring at her acquaintance.

"...May I know at least why?" Sam asked her. His voice was already broken because of grief. And his heart felt as if it has been impaled by a sword. Still, he managed to construct a sentence.

Looking at her beautiful, doll-like face, Sam's feet begin to sink into the ground. This is not a confession anymore.

"Sam, let me be frank to you." Marie breathes in. "There are those in this world that can rule, and there are those that can only serve. I am not trying to make you suffer or trying to belittle you, but please, we are not at the same level anymore. We are not the country bumpkins anymore, you and I."

"I can work harder, Marie! I have, and I always will! Can you just give me a chance? I promise that I will do even harder. My strength has improved thanks to my training, and..." Sam tries to stand, but his legs are already giving up. He clutches Marie's hands.

Immediately upon touching, Marie throws his palms away, her eyebrows turn into anger.

"And it is still useless, no?" A cold stare goes straight into Sam's head.

Sam slumps down, his eyes become lost. Tears begin to flow uncontrollably.

Sitting down with the soulless body, in his mind only "Useless" was present.

His ears ring a deafening sound, and his eyes see nothing but darkness. He has heard the worst thing from his most trusted friend, his fiance.

It should be his ex-fiance at this point.

"Sammy, I like you. I really do...as a friend. I just can't see you in that kind of way. I'm sorry."

With that final sentence, Marie walks away. As she walks, she takes out a small bottle of hand sanitizer, and spray it onto her hands. After doing so, her frown turns back to normal.

Making a final glance at Sam, she sighs.

They are from the same place, but it has clearly shown that they are not going to be together until the end anymore.

There was a promise between the two from when they were younger. However, the promise can only be kept with the condition of equal footings.

Sam and Marie are not.

Therefore, now there is no need to upkeep the vow to get married in the future anymore.

Thinking like that, Marie continues to her classroom, where a handsome, blond-hair looking guy with aqua blue eyes is waiting.

"Is it done?" The guy looks a little uncomfortable. After all, his girlfriend just rejects her childhood friend, who should be in his position.

"Had to give it to him straight. But it is finally done." Marie nods.

"Phew. He has been quite a stalker, for sure."

"That's why I need him to understand that he is not welcome."

"Wow. You sure are cold to your childhood friend." The guy smiles.

"Well, I only have you in my eyes!" Marie looks straight into the guy's blue eyes. His reflection appears on her corneas. It is true, he is in her eyes only.

Then she makes a beautiful smile and gives the guy a kiss on his lips.

*Shudders*

Remembering what the Goddess has told him, the guy feels cold on his spine.

"Come on, Hero. Why don't we go out for dinner? It's about time, you know? Then, we can go to your place, love."

*Shudders*

"Ha...haha. Of...of course."

"No birth control spell this time! I'm tired of those."

"But...but we are..."

"Let's go eat first, love." Marie gives the Hero a kiss once more. This time, she adds in a little more "service".

The two quickly move out of the classroom soon after and head to the entrance of the academy.

Somewhere, far in a corner, where there is a statue of the Goddess of love, a guy is sitting with soulless eyes.

Useless, useless, useless, useless.

He mumbles.

His fists clench, then open. This continues for a while until his hands have been covered in a dark red solution.

Thirty minutes pass, he then stands up, takes a look at the statue then bows, and leaves off-campus. There is nothing for him to do but indulge in self-pity at this point.

Tears keep streaming down his face while he forces his feet to move.

The place that he chooses to confess, is actually the altar of the Goddess of Love. Any couple that has been made in this location is rumored to be blessed by her so that they would stay together forever.

Sam clearly does not have the chance to experience such a blessing.

Looks like dinner today would be bitter and salty.

Once Sam's silhouette has disappeared from the campus, a person in a lab coat appears.

From the figure, one could say that this person is probably a female, and a really attractive one, too.

She is wearing a cap, sunglasses, mask, and gloves, which almost conceal everything identifiable from her.

The figure walks towards the place Sam was sitting, carefully takes out a handkerchief, and wipes all of the red liquid on the ground with both hands.

The more she does her thing, the more unstable her hands become. Finally, after making sure the ground has nothing else on them, she takes out a ziplock bag and puts the handkerchief, now soaked in red, inside.

Holding the bag close to her, the figure trembles violently, as if her body is experiencing extreme pain,...or pleasure. Her sunglasses fog up, but she does not seem to mind.

She bows down to the statue of the Goddess and leaves the place in a hurry, running towards the entrance of the academy.

No one sees the eyes of the statue shinning a pink hue.
